Dragon spoke before Thothaga could utter a sound, but their answers were the same.

All knowledge.

"A worthy goal." She nodded. Thothaga sight settled on the other gembounds that followed the alligator; a bird, a giant snake, a smaller snake, a weeping hoofed creature, all weary and hungry for answers."The Children are wise." She added. They could be valuable allies.. and the Divine too. She would have to prove herself to this lot, they were a weary bunch.

Thothaga gathered up the silken balls of beetles and fastened them to ground, weaving an extra layer of silk on and around them. There was no way the tree eating insects would break free from that. She would be free to feed until her heart's content. Thothaga crawled towards the Divine and gently place a claw on the trunk.

You protect me, and I'll protect you. The witch told the tree.

Thothaga casted her gaze upon the weeping gembound. "Mourn if you must, but do not let it consume you, there is vengeance to be had." Then she scurried onto Her trunk and spin around. "Children of Rot!" She called out them. "Should you need help in your quest for knowlege, know that Thothaga the Spellweaver welcomes you." She gestured to herself, and with that the spider witch crawled up the Divines great trunk, and disappeared into Her vast canopy.

Knowledge... knowledge was power. And knowledge was what the Children sought. And Naja knew that safety came in numbers. He paid little attention to the poorly hybrid that laid down on the tree roots, uncaring to its emotional state.

He listened intently to the alligator's speech, tongue flicking out to taste the air. "I, too, seek knowledge. If you need assistance, or find a particularly interesting piece of knowledge please, seek me out." The cobra watched as the alligator hauled himself away, vanishing into the water - and then he was gone.

His attention turned, then, to the spider. "It is." He watched in detached interest as she bound the beetles, addressing the hybrid before leaving. And with that, the snake turned, and slithered away.
