and got what i wanted all along

As she stepped away, she performed more magic that i was unaware of till. and she presented to me something rather intriguing. she let the gem fall at my talons, and with a wobbly limb i scooped it up to better inspect the item. i was truly taken aback, shocked she'd given me something so wonderful. i smiled, looking up at the nonamed creature and had the sudden urge to embrace her. however, i was unsure how to go about such a thing. with the gem still clutched in my baby talons, i hopped over to her limbs, were my proceeded to attempt and snuggle up to one of them. small chirps escaped every once in a while, as i then looked at my present once again.

"pounce? i'd like to meet pounce! what's our magic called? pounce's and i's i mean. "

as i scuttled away again, i looked up at the larger creature of light with genuine curiosity.

(( Adorable beyond words, augkdfffkdslk )) She looked down to watch as the little Ambrus, whose head didn't even reach her chest at standing height, come on shaky legs towards her and embrace her the best way it could, with such shy confidence on almost non-existent supports; one breath, one mean word, and it would shatter. It made her want to protect it even more, and she leaned her head down to nestle against the back of Ambrus' wings, hugging it back. "I'm glad you like it," she said quietly, feeling a little shaky and snuffly herself. Then the bird looked away and grew excited. "Pounce would love to meet you too!" She smiled, "You both share a kind of light magic, rather like mine, but..... with the ability to touch!" She said vaguely. Best not ruin it for the little thing. Magic was too important for that. "You'll find out, my dear. I'll will love to see the day when you fly." "Would you like to start on our journey, dear Ambrus? I imagine Pounce is getting impatient for us." "This is how I speak."

still clutching the rock turned gem, i nodded in agreement. i could carry the little stone in my beak so that i could walk with her, as flight was rather nonexistent for me. i lacked the proper feathers, the proper age. i was but a wee little thing, and so hopping along would be just fine. i wondered where pounce was, and what he was. we had the same magic, but it was different then the noname's. i wnated to ponder this more, but instead i would come along with her and perhaps on our journey, we could find out her name! how exciting. i'd like nothing more.

"okay! i will follow you. i' not even sure where i am. something about the bonebound? azazel let me in with them,"

i didn't mean to babble, rant and run on. it all came flowing out of me. i was still unsure where the bonebound made their homes. azazel had informed me, but sometimes it was hard to remember all the information the bone king offered me.

"Oh! You've met the Aza? The Aza is so kind and welcoming, and so is the Bonebound," She gushed happily, remembering her encounter with the happy Beau and the Saudade and Aza, trying to give the Aza a bath. "They are one wonderful family, and I'm sure you would like it." She kneeled down on the ground, then sat comfortably, with her legs tucked underneath next to the Ambrus. "This room is called Canis, the bone room. If one likes bones, like the Giggle or Aza, its a very wonderful home, but there are many other kinds of rooms than this, my dear. There's a room with the ceiling of stars, the forest room, the mysterious foggy marsh, and more. There is a lot to explore, and I'm sure I haven't even seen it all!" "Now, little Ambrus, I'm sure it will be difficult for you to walk, so if you would, please rest on my back. I will carry you there." "This is how I speak."

Iwatched as the creature of light knelt, coming down closer to my level. cerulean lenses observed her as she spoke, and my head cocked rapidly to the side before i returned speech. it took me several moments, observing the larger critter's anatomy so figure out how to climb atop her. i moved the gem she'd made me from my clutched talon to my beak, then hopped over to her, where i wriggled my way up her back, all the while attempted to not scratch her with neither beak nor talons. soon, i was atop her, perched with my feet tucked comfortably beneath me. i then transitioned my gem from beak to talon once again, and kept it safely clutched away in my foot.

"i think bones are cool, i guess. i just like the meat they give me!"

in a childish manner, i chuckled at my own little jest.

"thanks for giving me a ride on your back, maybe when i'm bigger i can take you for a ride!"

i flapped my temporarily useless wings, little creamed feathers fluttering about as my tiny tail wriggled.

She waited patiently while the Ambrus climbed up her back, and she could feel its attempts to be careful, its hesitance, and it made her very glad she had found such a considerate new friend. It made her heart warm the the little Ambrus cared about such things, and she smiled to herself. Carefully, slowly, making sure the bird perched comfortably on her back stayed steady as she stood up. She could feel a few wobbles here and there as it changed its sense of balance, and she took very slow steps at first so the Ambrus could accommodate. "I'm sure you will be a very fierce hunter when you grow older, my dear," She replied wistfully, imagining little Ambrus and Pounce hunting together. All she could think of was Pounce playing its game, and its tears of sorrow at seeing death for the first time. "I am content with my greens and grass." She had mused a little after she had briefly left Pounce in Cetus about how some gem-bounds prefer ferns and shrubs like her, and how some needed to kill to survive. She felt so badly for poor Pounce, for the necessity to toughen that soft little heart against the pain of bringing a life to an end. All she had to do was walk home to Eridanus and eat whatever she preferred, and she was never hungry. Truly, being one that ate plants was the best way to live - never having to worry about where the next meal would come from, the effort of taking it and chasing it down - she pitied those that had to suffer through that every day. But those like the Aza, the Giggle, and the Saudade managed just fine, and so would these new babes she had taken under her wing. She wouldn't let them starve. She smiled and laughed lightly at the Ambrus' words of thanks. "I would enjoy that! Flight is a beautiful thing to behold, and to experience it just once would be a wonderful delight. I'll look forward to it, dear Ambrus, for when you grow big and strong." As she picked up her pace to exit the room of bones, something that didn't settle in with the floor caught her eye; a tiny skeleton with little paws and a long skull, like some form of mouse or possum, perhaps, had something around its middle. She peered at it curiously, dipping her head low and angling her head to see it properly. It looked to be a tiny little purse made of some dusty brown material with a twine sling that went around the deceased creatures shoulders. With her nose, she politely moved the flap, careful not to disturb the bones of the dead, and said to the Ambrus, "My dear, what a perfect little pocket for your present!" As some of the bones were already disconnected, all she had to do was pick up the sling with her teeth, and it came away from the creature very easily, with only the slightest resistance. Silently, she thanked the soul, and turned her head to give it to the Ambrus. "This can go around your head and you can put the present inside for safe keeping. What luck!" "Now, let us go and meet Pounce, hmm? I'm sure you two will get along famously." "This is how I speak." @Ambrus

The ride was fun. being up this high was amazing. azurite lenses expanded as i looked down on both sides of the nonamed creature, but before i could exclaim my excitement for such an adrenaline rush, she found something for me. she picked it up, handed it over, and as she spoke to me how to use it, i outstretched my neck so that it could slide down my nape, where it nestled quite nicely. i moved the appropriate wing so that it could hang on my body without it impairing my movement. i opened the small flap that overlapped the pocket, and put my gem carefully in it. i smiled, looking to my nonamed friend and peeped with jubilation.

"wow, thanks a lot! this will work perfectly."

i accompanied it with an approving nod as she then said we should move on. and i wasn't in disagreement with that notion.

"yes, i'd like to meet pounce."

with a smile still plastered to my beak, i kept perched atop her back as we strode together through canis, toward wherever pounce was.

As they walked along, she started to tunelessly hum, thinking about something to say, about what to entertain her passenger with on the way to Cetus. She could start a story, but what would it be about? A little time went by as she thought, and she could sense Ambrus fiddling with its new satchel, which made her smile. She was really glad it liked it. "Once upon a time," She said slowly, thinking as she spoke. "There was a young bird, who loved to explore. it met many interesting creatures and had many adventures along the way, One of which being when it met a bear, who it became very good friends with, who had an interesting dilemma with a fish and a dog..." Her voice trailed off as they made their way, her soft voice a constant hum in the echoing chambers. (Exit Thread) "This is how I speak."

As the both of us strolled along, the lovely creature of light began a story. i listened intently, head cocking this way and that in rapid movements as i thought to myself, a fish and a dog? what was a bear, and a bird? these creatures were all foreign to me, but in my head i pictured different colored creatures, of all shapes and sizes. i listened silently, unwilling to interrupt the lovely creature for fear she'd end her story.
