Okay well, that worked? But it also created another absolute horror of a scene to witness. Peach Scone goes FLYING and started bouncing off the walls. Literally. Never did he think he would see the day where he would be able to use that phrase. And also what the hell was a beach ball? He knew of beaches, and he knew of balls. Was it just a ball made of sand? Sand and water?

Oh, she was coming back now. HOLY SHE WAS COMING BACK LOOK AT THOSE TEETH. Onyx-Three was not one to back down from a challenge. But when there was a multi-colored missile flying at you with teeth you do not mess with that. He moves to dodge, but it seemed he didn't need to, as Peach Scone missed. Thank god for that.

"No. Not fun." he says in a serious manner, but not one that was expressing dissatisfaction. After all, he got to spar with someone, and he always could use some practice. Especially with gembounds such as this one with such a peculiar set of skills. "Very painful. Of the eyes and brain."

Since it was harder to reach, he decided to try something else. A spell that did something very random. Chaotic. And something did happen, something- oh god the fur on his tail was burning. It was not a large fire, but one that hurt. OH GOD OH GOD. "This. Is. Not. Good." Onyx-Three spun in circles trying to put it out. Peach Scone was forgotten as he tried to deal with this threat.

Peach Scone was forgotten. But Peach Scone should never be forgotten, not now, not ever, because that is how you end up with her bouncing on the walls again as you tried to put out a fire, and then Lunging with the good ol one-two ear bite combo once more.

Let it never be said that she was not persistent.

Finally managing to put out the minor flame, they turned back to Peach Scone only to see it hurtling back at them with the same terrifying madness that he had gotten way too much of in one day. He held up an arm to try and block the attack, but there had been too little time to react. Onyx-Three felt the teeth close upon his ear. Ouch. It hurt, but not enough to draw blood. After all, you weren't supposed to go that far in a spar. "Nice." even though it had been a sneaky technique, especially since he had been preoccupied, he had to give Peach Scone some credit for attempting the whole bounce thing successfully this time.

Peach Scone's only response is absolutely maniacal laughter as they continue to bounce.

They scored their first hit--their first real hit--and that was even more of a thrilling feeling than psychic damage, holy shit.

They want to do it again.

Peach Scone, by themself, is not a very intimidating physical presence, save their throat-teeth. And it's risky to just charge in and chomp, not without a bit of setup. Peach Scone's magic and general existence is best when they blend a bit of magic with their fighting.

So they hop towards the creature, feinting as if about to bite, before casting Move Bitch Get Out The Way, hoping to knock him down.

Oh god now it was laughing. What horror was this? He shook his head as the pain faded from his ear. They would have to be faster at dodging, at reacting, to succeed in this spar. However it seemed that they forgot Peach Scone had magic. Everything that had been done previously, the bouncing, and floating- it had seemed more like part of its anatomy rather than magic. So when it approached him, Onyx-Three was expecting a bite.

He did not expect magic. Knocked over by the invisible force, he found a strange sort of terror instilled within him. Peach Scone was so... unpredictable. And not in a good way. Though it was also true that he had yet to fight magic users. Perhaps it was time he shifted his strategy.

And something did happen, black-violet lightning that sparked towards Peach Scone. Luckily his magic was not very strong, so it probably wouldn't kill. Probably. But it did have a chance of pain or temporary paralysis if it hit.

Peach Scone hurtles towards Onyx, but before she can close her teeth on his shoulder a strange bolt of something black-purplish shoots towards her. She stops dead with a throttled shriek of pain--her first real taste of agony this fight.

She flops to the ground, and finds her...muscles? Tendrils? Whatever devilish force that animates her--it's not working. Which is Not God.

But she's got a plan.

She lets out the most pathetic sounding whimper she can manage, not attempting to move.

Oh god what had he done? His magic had never done something like that before, and he knew that this had been the magic of corruption. Spars were not supposed to hurt. To injure. Onyx-Three takes a step forward and kneels, holding out a hand to help up the creature if it should take it. Did it even have arms? Tentacles? Gah don't overthink it. Anyways he was most preoccupied with helping out Peach Scone instead of attacking. He had morals. You don't hit someone who was down.

Peach Scone, with great effort, turns her head, blinking blearily at Onyx.

The magic trick she was planning had failed, but given the other had tried to help her up rather than pressing his advantage like she expected, she probably would've felt too bad anyway.

But there's an undercurrent of rage that's simmering under her skin, humming after the lightning strike, that's brought to the forefront as he approaches.

She snarled weakly, then turned away.

"I feel unreasonable," she says bluntly. "What did you do to me?"

Although it is not evident in his expression, Onyx-Three felt a pain in his heart. He was not able to name the emotion, but if he could, it would have been something like shame. The magic had been one of corruption. Yes, it hurt, but he hadn't expected it to be that bad. "It is the magic of corruption." they stated, though wasn't sure what Peach Scone was asking beyond that. Coming from the Chaos Forge, corruption wasn't something that was considered bad, so the idea that it may not have liked that part was not something that crossed his mind. "I apologize if it hurt." he slowly withdrew his hand, seeing that she did not want to take it. "Do you need assistance?"

Peach Scone's cerata flicked back and forth rapidly. Their expression does not change, but they are silent for a long, long moment.

"Is this..." they pause for a bit longer. "Corruption, you speak of, the reason I went from feeling the thrill of friendly competition to wanting to tear the spine from your back and eat every tiny bone? It's odd."
