Her escape successful, Kin-Kin rolled onto her paws and shook herself off. As the cat, too, recovered, Kin-Kin flattened her ears and before they could strike, she focused on her own inner light. If successful, she could fade, and jump away. Holding eye contact for just a few more moments, Kin-Kin readied herself to make tracks as soon as she was suitably hidden, in order to find a better point of attack...

It took a moment, but as soon as her fur was suitably faded, Kin-Kin skirted out of the way, slinking in the darkness and struggling not to make a sound. Keeping her head low, her cape drooped over most of her body, keeping even the brightest gold shrouded. And then she stalked, struggling to remain quiet.

Imperia You can't hide forever!

When Imperia landed, he realized no one was there. He let out a yowl of frustration and immediately began to look around. Where was she? He could no longer see where she was, which annoyed the caracal greatly. His gaze raked through the room, but he still couldn't see the wolf. Her fur was a light color, why couldn't he find her?

"Playing tricks now, are you? You can't hide forever! I'll find you and destroy you, just you wait!" He growled, a low and deep sound rumbling in his throat. With no idea where the other was, he couldn't do anything except for wait, something the caracal hated doing. Why wait when you can take action? But alas, he didn't have a choice but to wait, body tensed, waiting for the other to make herself known.

So wait he did, watching for the slightest flicker, the slightest sound, of movement.

Kin-Kin slunk through the shadows quietly, waiting for a moment when she felt that her opponent was vulnerable. She didn't have long before her fur would light up again and she'd be fully exposed. So as soon as she saw a sliver of an opportunity, she took it. Muscles coiling like a spring, she drew herself back, and then launched forward, opening her jaws wide ready for grabbing onto them, and claws outstretched, ready for rodeo.

As she hung, mid-leap, the wolf's pelt lit up in gold again, all the shadows simply falling away.

Imperia So that's how you're going to do it, hm?

Imperia's gaze traveled through the room, waiting for the other to strike. The darkness and lack of his enemy put him on edge, but he ignored it. He was prepared! He was going to see her and strike and she wouldn't know what hit her and-oh shit there she is. Where there was darkness just seconds before, there was suddenly a flash of light as she appeared right before him, leaping directly toward him.

He let out a yowl as he felt her land on his back. This would certainly not do, she clearly had the advantage. He was going to have to try and get her off. Immediately he began to thrash about, doing whatever he could to get her off.

Clinging to the other's back with every ounce of strength she had, Kin-Kin felt her grip loosening as they squirmed and thrashed about the room. In a desperate attempt to stay clinging on, she snapped her jaws, trying to bite and snap at their scruff as her claws scrabbled at his sides. As she did so however, she quickly lost her grip and was thrown. After tumbling to a halt, she scrambled unsteadily to her paws, her hackles stood on end and nasty growls rising in her throat.

Her mouth was almost frothing, she wanted to jeer but she couldn't... this was the wrong time to even consider it really. But she had to keep going, this was more intense than she could ever have hoped for. Would her cycles of training be enough, or would they fail her at the final hurdle?

Time would tell.

Imperia You wont last long, will you?

After some more thrashing about, Imperia was able to throw the wolf off. He had a few scratches from her trying to get a grip, but they were shallow and he hardly even felt them. He turns to face the other, and grins. "I guess that didn't work too well for you, did it?" he chuckled. He would say more, but he was tired, he had to admit, from thrashing around.

He took a moment to contemplate his next move. He could do the same she had done. He could cast his spell, and then leap. But his paws were starting to bother him, so he decided he should probably lay off on the spells for a bit. So that left just flat out attacking. Not that he was complaining. He tensed, and then leaped, claws heading right in her direction.

Beginning as a savage snarl, Kin-Kin's lips pulled into a vicious smile, baring fangs that glistened with spittle. Usually, the she-wolf wouldn't let herself stoop to this level, but she felt like today, it was necessary. Whilst it didn't seem calm any longer, maybe it'd throw them off for a split second...

Moments later, they threw themselves at her with claws outstreched. Instead of fleeing, Kin-Kin held her ground, and instead went for their paw- aiming to sink her sharp fangs into their already sensitive pawpad. She knew that if she failed, things would only end up worse for her, but the time for hiding and dodging had passed. Any more, and she'd look less like a calm, proud spirit, and more like a cowardly dog.

As he lunged, Imperia couldn't help but think that there was no way he was going to lose! If he could just pin her again, get in lots of scratches, some bites even, then he was bound to win. It would just be so easy, right?

He quickly changed his mind as soon as he felt the bite on his paw.

He yowled in pain. A bite-not too strong, admittedly-on his already sore paw sent pain shooting through his leg. He stumbled, and crashed into the ground at the wolf's side. He quickly got up and backed away, limping slightly. He set his paw gingerly on the ground, but quickly stopped as the pain only seemed to worsen. He growled in annoyance. It'd be hard to win a fight with a sore paw, but he would do it anyway!

He contemplated what to do next. Lunging at them likely wasn't the best thing to do. Doing his spell would be even worse. Perhaps he could just wait to see what they did? It was worth a shot, albeit a risky one. But he didn't have much of a choice. He'd just have to take whatever the wolf threw at him, and hope he'd be able to properly fight her again.

Kin-Kin felt like she was on a roll as they reeled back, yowling in pain. "What's that?" she drawled, her chest swelling with pride. "You'll destroy me, hmmm?" Kin-Kin repeated one of their threats from earlier, this time in a mocking tone. A smirk lingered on her face, her tail raised and swishing triumphantly.

Kin-Kin watched as they recovered, prowling around the room slowly as she contemplated her next move. Pacing, she growled softly in her throat, overconfidence radiating from her in anger-inducing waves. They just waited there, watching her. Preparing for her next move. Well, let's see how prepared they truly were.

Her every movement exaggerated, Kin-Kin coiled and threw herself at them, putting all her strength into that one motion. The scratches on her chest stung as she moved her forelimbs but not enough to warrant worrying about. Thin streaks of blood were beginning to mat her precious fur either side of her gem but for now, the wolf was powered by adrenaline. She wanted to pass this test of fate.

Imperia I'll still destroy you

Imperia growled upon hearing the wolf's words. She was taunting him! How dare she taunt him, using his own words against him! "I'm still going to destroy you, just you wait!"

After some time of waiting, Imperia watched as the wolf leaped. For a brief moment, he wasn't sure what to do before deciding to do the same she had done to him. He lunged forward, mouth open, teeth flashing and hoped to be able to bite one of her paws. See how she liked that.

However, he must have misjudged it because instead of sinking his teeth into her paw, he ended up falling flat on his face. A few rocks got into his mouth and he groaned. Great. He had totally blown it. He quickly scrambled up and spit the rocks out of his mouth, glaring at the wolf.
