Toevij observed the bird. He looked annoyed, and the owl sighed. "There's nothing I can do about it. I hardly even speak, anyway. You'll live, I'm sure." They watched for a bit more. "You need not breathe so heavily." They stayed in silence for a while more before speaking again. "There might be a spell or something you can use to speak, though I wouldn't know if there is anything." They'd used their magic only a little, and deemed it unnecessary. They could use it to make their feathers completely black if they wanted to, though they weren't sure when they would.

The hatchling continued watching the bird, eyes slightly lowered in dismay though, he scratched his claws against the bones he sat on, he felt how they scraped down and he could hone them down into sharp points. His eyes shone slightly dimmer in the darkness, reflecting his emotions as he scooted closer to the other owl. He scratched out the word "name" into the bone under him. Looking at the other owl inquisitively.
