Pain.. all pain.. he could feel his life draining away but it hurt so much.. when a shadow descended over the small fox he thought for sure it was death,, bu no.. it was just a little bird.. well.. not little in comparison.. actually a little bigger than the fox.. the bird laid a talon inside of a hole in his throat and looked him in the eyes. Was he offering death? If so.. he was dead anyway.. Kosa summed up all of his energy into a feeble nod, barely even visible. Waiting for stillness.

Grim saw the nod.. and he slowly pulled back, his talons slicing through the flesh of the fox like butter.. He was glad he kept them sharp. Soon he knew the fox was dead. His suffering was ended. Maybe one day, he would be born again.

Kosa felt the talon running through his flesh, it hurt but not too much. Then he felt a spurt as the talon cut past the artery in his neck and his vision blurred instantly. Fading black.. sleep.. yes sleep would be nice.. it would be so nice all the time sleep.. and he closed his eyes.

NKOSANA IS DECEASED

Grim closed his eyes when the task was finished. He looked back at the body of the fox he had killed, lifeless and he scrambled back his voice rattling in his throat loudly as if he would shriek. he curled his wings around himself and paced around the floor, not knowing what to do being TERRIFIED of what he had done until.. he realized something. The gem was to be dead anyway. He had helped him. He didn't have the magic to heal him and nobody around would have. But.. he can come back. Grim walked over to the former prince of the caves and started carving, carving away them flesh surrounding his gem, until it came loose with a slight clatter. He grabbed it and flew away, he'd find a way to bring him back. This is only a between-life for the little fox. He was the courier taking him to the other side of the river to the next life, he was right in what to do. He had to tell himself that, he was right. The fox would live eventually, just not right now.
