MAGICKA LEVEL 100%
RESTORED TO 100%

Pippy's theory about the elements and gem placement and type was a very good one, one of many possible explanations that would fit the model. Xireidi had a gem in their eye, which fit well with having an element associated with the arcane eye of the mind. Li had a gem that invoked the color and general shape of the fiery magic she kept locked within herself. His own stone was white and located in a part of the body that would constantly push against the ground were he incapable of balancing on his back paws. The one counter-example he could think of was the stone of many souls he'd rescued earlier. That gembound seemed to be under the impression they had more than one base element, but then again that didn't outright disprove the theory.

"This is one of the more useful spells I have run across. Without some creativity it cannot be used for hurting," No need to mention that with some creativity and preparation it could be as powerful in an ambush or unsporting maneuver as any ranged spell, "but instead its primary purpose seems to be to bring light to places where the lights above fail to reach or replace them should they fail."

By the sound of Pippy's description they had already met a magic user and been given some pointers. The description particularly interested him, using the physical muscles as a method of helping control the energy flow. He'd been spending so much time focusing on the magical shaping that he hadn't given a lot of thought to what was going on with his physical body until working with the spell he was recovering from.

"Perhaps you could show me what magic you know too? Do you mostly use light like this or was your first spell something else?"

Pippy didn't entirely base this theory of hers from a guess, as her Gem; which is where she got her name strongly resembles a pip, it's even about same the size as a pip. Pips are a plant, and Pippy's first ever Spell of making seeds to grow instantly into small buds is a Spell associated with plants and greenery. Many colours are on Pippy's Gem and made it look like stained glass; it may have some symbolism also. Perhaps on how her Gem is on her chest could also have some metaphor on how Magick will work for Pippy, in particular, she is curious if all these factors all have a connection to how her Magick works.

"I-It is a beneficial and pretty Spell," her tone was a little meek there. Pippy was about to ask Amras if they have encountered any Gembound who did use a Spell such as this one to hurt someone genuinely, but she chose not to, preferring to remain in her comfort zone for now.

"Mhm," what Pippy herself has seen so far on how this Spell gets used is same as what Amras describes. Lighting-pretty-rocks Spell own use doesn't have to be exclusive for when the lights are not working; for one, maybe Pippy could use this Spell to place a light stone or something into a pool with clean water, it'll be like a bright beacon.

Pippy has for most definite met some Magick users previously; it's a sole reason why she took an interest in Magick. This method was something she chose as although she's supposed to clear her mind to use Magick Pippy found it to be tricky. For her to take her mind off everything else, Pippy can't do it as Magick is in her mind; her mind stresses when nothing seems to be happening which makes it worse. So she chose to use another method to use alongside clearing her thoughts to help; it seems to be making things a lot easier for Pippy.

"O-Oh... S-Sure! I-I'll try..." Pippy is nervous and reluctant about it, but she'll still do it for Amras. Pippy's previous failures to draw her Magick out and let a Gembound down for failing has made Pippy a little shy about performing her Magick around others at times what with now aware failure being possible. But still, she'll do it.

Exhaling she looks down, nothing but sand beneath her and Amras' talon she is still resting on. Relaxing her muscles except for around her chest where her Gem is, Pippy wishing in her thoughts for Magick to come forth and make a small twist on reality, sandy ground only being in her sights and where she hopes for her Magick to manifest itself.

Magick rose in Pippy's Gem, shining with so many mixed bright colours although nothing in Spell terms seems to be happening. Soon though Pippy's Gem shone more, more than usual it was a little scary how unusual it was. It was too bright; it's hurting Pippy's eyes, so she tries to block out the brightness by covering her eyes with one of her wings.

Still no sign a Spell is being drawn out.

Seconds passed, a loud crack went off, sounding like a firecracker; it came from Pippy's Gem, echoing throughout the area, she let out a loud yelp, filled with immense pain. The light from Pippy's Gem popped out of existence simultaneously with the cracking noise it was gone as quick as the light. Soon there's nothing but silence except for poor Pippy whimpering in pain, her Spell unsuccessful.

"S-S-Sorry A-Amras..." Pippy let guilt fill her for possibly letting Amras down in not bringing anything forth and felt the need to apologise trying her best to avoid tears welling up in her eyes from being in such agony.

Amras visibly winced as Pippy's spell backfired. He knew that feeling too well. The patches of charred feathers on the ground were proof enough of that. Was this area cursed perhaps? Was it a location of magical imbalance? It was possible, but if so how had he been able to utilize the bauble spell without repercussion?

"I'm the one who should apologize." he said sympathetically, holding his talon to make sure the small bat didn't fall off from the pain incurred from the misfire. "It looks like this might not be a good place for practice at the moment, are you okay?"

Sadly there was little he could do for the pain they doubtlessly were going through. Recover could not be targeted outside the self and he didn't know any other spells yet that cold be used for an injury like this. He might have been able to modify his fire spell if they were bleeding out or concentrate on a gem summon if they had broken a bone but nothing for this. What element would that even fall under; primal or plant perhaps?

"Based on our luck here it might be better to hold off on any kind of practice until after we've both had a chance to recover. Maybe find a more suitable section of Orion."

Pippy's breathing was heavy, and she curls her body up as some way to try and ease the pain aching in her chest, said agony is even in her Gem somehow like it was shaking in her sternum in such a state of shock from that Spell rebound. It wasn't outright torture on Pippy's diminutive form; she was more shaken from getting such an unwelcome surprise by her Magick than her current pain similar to how one would experience getting static but worse. Pippy is trying to brush off her pain as not being too painful for her so Amras won't have to worry about her too much and is maybe in more pain she refuses to display it though.

When Amras apologised to Pippy, she responds by patting their talon a little with her wing and smiled at Amras as some way to reassure them and accept their apology, uncurling her small form in doing so, not too much with her body still in pain.

"Mhm... I-I t-think I'll b-be f-fine. N-Need t-to r-rest and I think I-I'll b-be f-fine," she'd believe rest will be the best option right now to recuperate from this pain. Which she's okay with, it seems Pippy can trust Amras here, after all. For one right now with this agony, this is perhaps the most vulnerable Pippy has ever been and yet they haven't taken advantage of that; if anything they're displaying worry for her from her failure to draw out Magick safely.

Pippy herself despite possessing some Plant Spells lacks any that would help in soothing her pain. Currently, Pippy believes a little rest and staying warm will be the best remedy for making this pain ease over time much quicker. She should maybe learn how to do that Spell Amras used to heal themselves, later though not right now as like Amras said it might be a bad idea to utilise more Magick in this state.

"Uhuh, s-sounds like a g-good i-idea Amras," letting a chance for recovery would be nice right about now. Leaving later to a different destination may help too.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100%

While it was unfortunate that the magic in this area was apparently a bit unstable, Amras was at least glad that the small bat was okay. More than that he was glad that they didn't seem to be scared away fom magic by he experience. Perhaps they would be able to try again some time, find the key to Pippy's magic use. Perhaps even at the same time he could gather more skill in utilizing the animal element. Not now though, now was a time of rest.

The gryphon lowered his talon again, letting it rest palm up on the cool ground. His head in turn lowered to the ground as well. "I'm just going to close my eyes for a bit. Feel free to rest on my back if you need a warm place to sleep. I'll try not to catch on fire again" he said with a wry smile as he settled into a resting position.

The day had been short, but it was not fully over. They would rest, they would recover, they would still be sore after waking up, but they were still alive. This was the reason for practice- no mater what there was still opportunity to improve and it was better for accidents to happen in practice than to happen when their existence depended on it. Who knew when another potential threat like the spider or storm would show its face; one of many reasons to always be striving for more.

Slowly his eyes closed and his breathing evened out. He was still conscious, but soon he would drift off.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100%
RESTORED TO 100%

Although Amras also had an attempt to draw out their Magick and failed, Pippy is a little ashamed, on how she was unable to bring any Magick out herself. Amras did manage to use two more Spells with success, after all, Pippy could give it another go, but she prefers not to right now. Her pain isn't dangerous, like when Amras got themselves on fire, but it's still agonising no matter how much Pippy wants to give things another shot. Also, Amras did want her to rest too, so perhaps it wouldn't do much good to try again right now even if Pippy did manage to draw out her Magick this time; if her intentions are only to prove herself. Still, she will not quit on Magick anytime soon, no doubt about it.

Pippy from reflex wrapped her wings around a claw on Amras' talon, with it lowering itself, again only a little startled, although she got scared for a brief moment about possibly falling off Amras' talon, so she got compelled to hold onto something. When Amras' talon collided with the ground, Pippy with such delicateness made her wings let go of said claw.

"Oh OK then Amras, good night. A-And t-thank you. Hehe... I-I Pippy n-now forbid y-you Amras f-from catching yourself on f-fire e-ever again," she couldn't help but giggle at her words even though doing so is making her chest hurt, so her laughter was fleeting.

Pippy laid there on Amras' talon for a little while longer, waiting for her pain to fade away to some extent before going to take upon Amras' offer on resting on their back. When her pain let up where she no longer needed to curl into a ball to make it go away a little, she with careful ease goes climbing on their back. She tries not gripping too tight with her thumbs as she doesn't want to hurt them Amras' skin is still sore after all from getting burned.

It took quite a climb for Pippy, and it made her exhausted, her energy has already been sapped from her Magick backfiring on her. But she did manage to do it and collapsed practically face flat on top Amras' feathers when she successfully climbed onto their back. Wasting no time Pippy nestled herself with feathers which were so warm and cosy she was tempted to cocoon herself with them but she doesn't want to pull on Amras' feathers it would hurt them, and it is rude.

It wasn't long before Pippy herself goes into a deep slumber, her little chest rising with each breath. Amras may have to hope this tiny bat will wake before they do as they may find it challenging to get up with a teensy bat out like a light on their back.

-Exit Pippy-
