QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Gypsy looked at the other bird, smiling when she accepted the offer. Alright, that would make things much easier for her. And, well, the offer was a bit disproportionate. The little bird had only shifted some of the twigs in her nest, but surely this would speed up the process some? And she would be helping the blue-bird build her own nest, wouldn't she?
"I'd offer to try and teach you, but I don't think our wings work the same way." she said mournfully. The bird's wings didn't seem able to move as fast as hers did, and she couldn't exactly teach something she didn't know.
The little bird was quick to show her what to do, fluttering down and taking a twig in her beak, flying back up to set it around the edge. "Try and put the twigs in a circle around what's already there. Pile them up to make a rim."
She offered Gypsy a polite smile, saying, "It's a pleasure to meet you Gypsy. I'm Huny."
Gypsy liked that name. It was easy to pronounce and very pretty. She beamed at the other bird. She was so happy that Huny was allowing her to help build her nest. And she couldn't wait to make her own!
"I'd offer to try and teach you, but I don't think our wings work the same way."
Oh. Gypsy’s shoulders sagged for a moment before she seemed to cheer up again. “That’s okay! I’m sure I’ll learn some day! It’s just taking me a long time, that’s all! But I’m still young and I have plenty of time to learn!” The frantic way she talked made it sound as if she was trying to reassure herself more so than anyone else.

Gypsy took one of the loose twigs and attempted to do as Huny instructed. She carefully considered how and exactly where to place it, taking an extremely long time to do so. She simply wanted it to be perfect without a single twig out of place. Finally, after an eternity, she decided its placement and leapt back to admire her work with a proud nod. She was getting the hang of this!
“Okay, time for the next one!” She hopped forth to grab the second stick. It suddenly occurred to her that the nest might look extremely plain and boring with just the twigs. Surely, Huny was going to spice it up?
"Huuuunyyy~" Gypsy sing-songed, excited by her own idea. "We should decorate your nest at the end!"
The little bird frowned as the other Gemling seemed to sag, as though she'd said the wrong thing. But she couldn't think of anything she may have said - maybe she was sad she couldn't teach her? Well, there was nothing she could do about that. Thankfully the masked bird was quick to cheer up, and Huny nodded. "I'm sure you will!" She chirped, hoping to keep Gypsy cheerful.
The hummingbird waited to make sure Gypsy knew what to do, observing as she began to place the twig. Once she was satisfied the bird knew what to do, she took off, fluttering down to find some more twigs. Once she had, she fluttered back off. However, the little bird's attention was drawn by Gypsy's voice, and she tilted her head in thought. "We should! That will be fun!" she nodded, fluttering her wings excitedly. Huny could find all of the shiny things... It was all-but guaranteed to be beautiful!

Huny
The hummingbird looked at the little bird sideways, trying to figure her out as she seemed to do a little dance on the branch. She was rather odd, wasn't she? How could she be so cheerful? Have so much energy?
Huny spread her wings, preparing to take flight again, only to be interrupted by Gypsy's voice. She tilted her head, thinking, before nodding, "Flowers and stones, yes!" She loved shiny things! She couldn't wait to wake up surrounded by all of the shiny things!
Again, before she could take off, she was interrupted, and she landed back on the branch. Huny turned to see what Gypsy was getting so excited over. She could make out something shiny, so she fluttered down to see what it was.
Gypsy really wished she could go down there herself to check it out. But the fact was, she couldn’t fly. She looked down from the branch towards the ground. She was so high up! She felt a tinge of jealousy as Huny easily fluttered down towards the shiny thing to investigate. How did the other bird do that so well?
She hopped on the branch anxiously, not at all reticent about her feelings of excitement.
Tilting her head from side to side, the hummingbird could make out something shiny. It glistened brightly, drawing her eye. She landed carefully on the ground, before bouncing forward on her little talons.
The shiny thing proved to be covered in dirt, so she had to carefully wipe it off with her talon. She tilted her head from side to side as she slid it out of the dirt, watching in surprise as a round, bronze-thing became visible. However, one end of it was cracked and jagged, as though it had been broken off of something. Was it a gem?
"I think it's a Gem!" she called up to Gypsy. It took her a moment to figure out how to hold it in her talons, but then she was flying. She deposited the Gem on the branch, fluttering away so they could look it over.
Gypsy hopped about excitedly as Huny approached with the shiny object. She leaned in close for a good look at it as the hummingbird dropped it on the branch. It was round and bronze coloured, but one part of it was cracked as if it had shattered away from something bigger. She poked at it with her beak, and the gem rang out with a hollow sound. She could vaguely make out her blue reflection on its shiny surface.
“Is it an egg?”She pondered out aloud. Her expression brightened at this thought. She peered inside through the broken end, but there was nothing within. Her joy deflated at the sight.
“Aww, I guess something hatched out from it. I wonder what it was?”
She looked at Huny. “Any ideas? Maybe you can use this to decorate your nest!”
From her short distance away, Huny tilted her head, observing the gem. It was bright and shiny, bronze in color, wiht a slight crack on the end. Her wings fluttered when Gypsy pecked it, hearing a funny ringing sound. She'd never heard that before! But she really liked it! Yes, she wanted it for her nest, she did!
Is it an egg? Gypsy asked, and Huny tilted her head, looking it over. "Maybe a long time ago? I don't think I'd have been able to move it if it still had a Gemling inside." at least, she thought so. She didn't really remember her chrysalis, but she thought it was attached to the cave wall.
And then Gypsy was wondering what had been inside. "Maybe something small? Since it's a pretty small Gem. Or something that starts out small, at least." she observed. "Maybe a bat? or a mouse? Windhopper?"
And she had to think on how she could incorporate it into her nest. It was different from the other things in her nest, hard and round, instead of bendable and flexable. "I can try?" she hummed, before fluttering forward.
She shifted the sticks around, before nudging the gem into place. The hummingbird weaved the sticks around the Gem in such a way that it was held in place, but it was still easy to see. Once she was satisfied, she fluttered back, turning her head this way and that to make sure it looked alright.
