are you my mother?
Sickened in the sun
You dare tell me you love me
But you held me down and screamed you wanted me to die
Honey you know, you know I'd never hurt you that way

"Speech" Thoughts
For some time it felt like Arkrael could do nothing but sit within the darkness of her own mind. Her small frame tucked away alone and so small in a vast and endless shadow covered world. Her body felt numb and in the darkness she struggled to even lift a paw. A sigh escaped her, seemingly echoing throughout her dark world. Though, when voices so faint began to lightly echo around her mind's gaze lifted, audits twitching to listen. Who was that? She had never heard that voice before. Her brows furrowed in her unconscious state. Her ears noticeably starting to twitch to those who were around.

Then a new voice pushed its way, causing her dark world to tremble. Wolf Friend.... Only one other had ever called her that. "Deer friend...." Her voice sighed as she now struggled in her unconsciousness. It was slowly slipping away, giving into the light that would be her consciousness. A deep sigh escaped her and soon enough miss-matched eyes slid open. Everything was a blur at first so Arkrael had to blink several times. It was only then that she spotted the hooves just before her. With legs so tall she couldn't even see the thing they attached to until she lifted her head up to look. Her ears perked up instantly as she stared at the large stag, or more so the rack of antlers atop his head.

Almost instinctively Arkrael pushed herself up to sit onto her haunches as she continued to stare at the deer. "Wow," she awed as she studied him. Aside from the white beast from before she had never seen a gembound so large. Though he was a deer right?! Did that mean Vazi...or even Tamelyn would get to be that big?! "Uhm...did you..." Her gaze floated back up the river, ears splaying off to the side as she quickly remembered the golems and the yeti. No, this gembound didn't have white fur. White fur had been the last thing Arkrael could recall seeing before the darkness had shrouded her mind.

She quickly looked to her other side to see Vazi still laying there, but with a strange white poof of a creature on top of him. That must be Wynry. A relieved grin washed over her expression as her tail gave a few light thumps against the ground. They were alive and Vazi had found his brother. How that white poof was his brother was beyond her, but it mattered not. She soon turned her gaze back to the stag, splaying her ears out to the side once again. "What's your name?"

Oh good, good good good. Vazi woke up, and he sounded like he was just alright. He would be fine! He was a bit hurt, but he was still his big, goofy normal self. Wynry, in response to all the babbling that his deer brother had to spill out, nuzzled the absolute bejeesus out of the tawny buck. "It's alright! We're together again, brother." It wasn't long after that, that the wolf friend seemed to wake up, and any friend of Vazi was most certainly Wynry's friend as well. The big fluffy sheep tilted his head as she asked who he was, or rather, what his name was. As if she hadn't heard it! -- Oh wait. She was talking to Deer Not-Dad. Right.

Baaah. It seemed like everyone was more interested in the sweet, giant deer than him. Well, it wasn't like Wynry could blame them. "This is Deer Dad! Err. Deer Not-Dad. He found me and brought me to you guys, see?" He explained, his tail wiggling wildly since his ears were smooshed under his chin which had found their spot on Vazi's shoulder to be quite comfortable.

"I'm so glad you're okay. Both of you! It's nice to meet you, Wolf Friend!"

While the stag stood off to the side, he watched the lamb race over to the fawn, concern couring his voice. The younger deer and the wolf were obviously injured by something and unconscious - it must have been quite an ordeal for them. He wondered what possibly could have caused this, and why was it the yeti that brought them back...? He'd have to investigate. In the mean time, Wynry whimpered about the injured fawn, and the stag stepped closer, tilting his head. Thankfully, both of the Gembounds began to regain consciousness. The stag remained still and furrowed his brow as both of them asked about saving them. "It was not I. The yeti brought you to us." He answered, twisting his ears back.

The fawn began to explain what had happened. They were exploring somewhere in Polaris when they heard yelling. The golems had been swarming the yeti. Strange... And they had tried to help? Peculiar indeed. He wondered if that had caused the yeti to act as altruistically as he did. The stag would need to hunt him down, and look into the golem issue as well... He focused back on the small trio as the wolf asked his name. Opening his mouth, he was about to answer when Wynry beat him to it. Deer Not-Dad. Well, it was accurate, at least. The stag smiled and laughed quietly.

With the lamb reunited with his brother, the stag's job was done. He bowed his head to the three Gembounds. "I am glad we found your brother, little Wynry. But my presence is needed elsewhere. I leave you here, but if you need aid, summon me and I shall do my best to find you." He spoke, and though he looked upon the lamb, the offer was extended to all Gembounds. He was here to protect them, to guide them - and guide them he would to the best of his ability. The stag turned from them, following the river's edge to where the yeti had disappeared.

(Exit Deer Dad)
