CAVE STATUS
QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

with inspiration and collaboration from our most beloved navey ... a specialization for the pressure elementals out there who don't fly! all windy characters are valid, winged or not!! based largely on levitate and cloud step, with a few additions not included in aeromancer and soundshifter.
FLIGHTLESS BIRD Levitate, Cloud Step, Gravity Trap, Claustrophobia, Dust Devil Passive:Gifted with the speed of the wind, this character walks and runs slightly more quickly by default. Aura:A light blue, airy glow wisps around this character's feet and trails behind their movements.
plus a couple small suggestions for the existing pressure specs ...
for aeromancer: perhaps pull levitate from the spell list, since a majority of characters who choose this spec wouldn't benefit from it? pressure elementals in general tend to be flighted, and aeromancer feels especially flight-oriented, given its passive effect. in its place ... please add barrier! it feels like a great fit with the other "classic" spells included, and it's a very cool spell that i would love to see represented.
and then ... maybe add muffle to soundshifter? :"D it just makes sense!

A Specialization Idea (copied Navy's format :,3)
Name: Jester
Passive: maybe whenever you use any of these tactics or techniques it's a bit more entertaining to watch??? Maybe you can do them a little faster and in more entertaining ways?
Maybe your failures of these techniques and tactics tend to be just as awe-inspiring as your successes?
Aura: A jovial jubilee of lights in bright, fun colors tends to dance around you, and you appear to quietly jingle wherever you walk.

specialization additions: these are recommendations for spells to be added to various specializations! mainly fleshing out ones that are missing spells compared to others hehe
ALT AURA: rather than glowing motes of light which are a pretty common theme among auras, i'd love for the torchbearer to leave glowing pawprints in their wake, or otherwise have some sort of glowing marking that maybe gets more intense when they cast a spell? or if you want to get really wild with it, maybe they cast light rather than a shadow-- nothing too intense, but a faint light cast from them where they would have a shadow.
RAINMAKER
ADD: State Change - more water. MORE WATER. make some clouds! Bubble - obvious
UPDATED LIST
additional note: it might be better to move rainmaker kind of away from the overlap with stormbringer-- push the focus more on just. water is wet. maybe remove rainfall and instead go for Aquakinesis or Purify, and rename it. I recommend something like Hydrologist?
suggestions: actual specialization concepts here folks..
EFFIGY MAKER
Concept: a collection of the manipulative spells that directly affect other character's bodies from a distance. probably engulf as the signature spell, + two of the others? Passive: Can use spells at a farther range, maybe? it'd be cool if they could cast spells at significant range as long as they had fur or blood of their target... but idk if that'd be too strong and also unfun for everyone else. Aura: An inviting, warm aura that turns cold and unsettling on contact with the Effigy Maker. or like, yknow, a presence that sticks in a gembound's mind long after they stop interacting with the Effigy Maker-- sort of "hard to forget/unsee" kind of vibe.
POSSIBLE SPELLS: Mist Cover, Driftwalk, Camouflage, Reflect, etc -- any spells that would improve stealth, maneuverability, and so forth (this could also work with certain Physical and Other skills!)
PASSIVE: Hard to notice and hard to remember. Your eyes want to skip over them, and it can be difficult to recall something they've said to you. You're prone to forgetting them in a list, and their attempts at stealth seem to succeed more often. Obviously its not impossible to see them, but it takes genuine concentration. However, Gembound with memory problems or spells like Gem Sense or Red Sense (or even innate senses that allow you to sense sense electromagnetism, body heat, etc) will make this less effective.
AURA: A gray/blue mist, obscuring their form and making them appear as though they are partially ethereal/not entirely solid.
I've become the Dye Fountain (so has SilverWinter)

Presenting a specialization geared toward perceptive characters looking to get the most out of a conversation:
Monitor
(Other possible names are Investigator, Intelligencer, Adviser, Confidant) Passive Effect: Heightened awareness of immediate surroundings and individuals' behaviors during social interactions Character Aura: The character exudes complete neutrality, appearing slightly desaturated in comparison to their environment Tactics and Spells: Gauge + Any 2 Reassure, Wheedle, Stone Memory, Lesser Empathy, High Senses, Feel Around, Spore, Hindsight
Fungal Master
- Decay & Propagate + any 1: Spore, Hallucinate, Wither, Necrophagy
Passive Effect: All included Fungal spells are somewhat faster-acting, noticeably more potent, and in some cases, significantly more painful.
Aura: Several varieties of translucent, illusory fungus grow out of the body — the exact composition can be altered with great concentration. Amusingly, they will appear to grow through armor and clothes.
Basidiomorph
- Spore + any 2: Cordyceps, Hallucinate, Inky Cap, Zombify
Passive Effect: Included spells are easier to maintain for long periods of time and take less energy to perform, even if used several times in a row.
Aura: The character seems to bear a trail of spores, large enough to be visible (think dust motes) and leaves a slightly gray, filmy afterimage as they move.
Mycologist
- Gray Sense & Feel Around + Any 1: Spore, Hallucinate, Stinkhorn
Passive Effect: The caster is able to see through any fungal growth they’ve placed as long as they’re close to it, without needing to cast Feel Around.
Aura: Illusory whitecaps trail a few feet behind the user, sprouting up where they’ve stepped.
Symbiosis
- Host & Mycelial Swarm + Any 1: Propagate, Incubate, Consume
Passive Effect:
Growths associated with the included spells last longer and are healthier; their negative effects are also dampened, though not removed entirely.
Aura:
The character has a pleasant, earthy smell and always looks healthy and well-fed (shiny fur, bright eyes, etc) regardless of their actual state of wellbeing.
