real magic? the massive bear before us tried to show us something, that much was apparent, but what came out was..something unfathomable but still not what he'd intended, i don't think. i couldn't help but laugh timidly along with the massive beast which could crush me in one swipe of the paw. i observed grimm now, and realized grimm could get just as big or even bigger. it was frightening, to say the least, but perhaps i would not be so small the rest of my life? i could only hope. i noted that leon had what might be a fire element, and shuddered at the thought. cancer's was different, i wasn't sure what cancer had. mine was very different, still not a name to put to it. but it wasn't anything like fire. i grimaced now, ready to show off what i can do - which is vibrate a little. i summoned my magic, begging, pleading with my gemstone to give me what i need to demonstrate my magic to these two. to show that little niru is not so helpless! sort of. i closed my eyes, squeezed them shut, and soon, i could feel my whole world trembling. the vibrations giving off a small hum, as i quickly became nauseous from it. this could only last for a small amount of time before i released it, smiling up at the pair of them.

"THERE! did you feel that? or did you at least hear it?"

i asked the two eagerly, wondering if i was the only one to feel my little vibrations. surely not. surely i could hinder someone with my magic? or was i so very blessed to be born with a magic that..just wasn't very dangerous. that would be my luck, for sure. but i waited still, jaded lenses flitting back and forth between the two bears as my stance slowly erected itself in deflating pride.

There was so much going on all at once, and I was first interested in Leon's attempt at this magic stuff. But it seemed he didn't do something right- er, maybe he did. I didn't know, but i wanted to know more! But now i felt an unwelcoming warm sensation, giving a pinch to my sniffer. I covered my snout, and let out a few exaggerated coughs. I looked to Leon again with wide eyes and I hurried over to him. I pushed off the ground and lifted my weight, standing on my hind legs and reached my paws upwards, waving them. Again, again! I mused, laughing as I looked back to Niru, and I gave a reassuring shrug. Niru again too! More, More!.


I was asking them for more magic, but then it realized - I could try this too! I wasn't sure how. I spun around on my hind paws, then fell to all fours. I pounced back over to where I was and tried something out myself, maybe it'd work. It had to- it did for Leon and Niru!

And it worked for me, too! I felt it working! It was slow at first, it all was. But then i began to feel something unusual in my snout, giving it a twitch. And then in my paws and ears, I shook a paw and then brought it up to my ears, giving them a rub. I looked down and noticed there was a change in the ground I stood on, it smelled different, and looked just a tad bit darker. I jumped, and then I jumped around a few more times. Grimm's magic, grimm's magic?!" I half shouted- half from excitement, half from me freaking out.

Holding both of his paws over his mouth while comically sticking his tongue out, he tried to allow it to cool down in the moist jungle air while shifting his attention over to the two cubs. Thankfully, his failure of a spell hadn't startled them too bad, and they seemed more eager to try their magic than shy away from it. That was good! Leon was very curious to see what they could do - first, though, he found himself having regain his balance as Grimmloch ran over to him and suddenly waving his paws in front of him, imploring the bear to do it again. "Okay okay, juth a thec." Leon fumbled, sticking his tongue out still. He started waving his paws at his mouth as if trying to fan it to cool it down more. In the mean time, the lion cub was eager to show them what he could do.

So, Leon raised his head and peered over at Niru, watching. It only took a few seconds for something to rise from his magic. A low humming that reverberated through the air. After a while, he felt the vibrations would have agitated his ears. Thankfully, the cub cut it off before too long. Grimmloch encouraged the boy to try his magic again, too. So it seemed the three of them would be having a little magic practice. Fine by him - Leon never shied away from an excuse to show off his powerful magic.

Before long, Grimmloch had displayed his abilities - he summoned the magic from his stone and found the ground beneath his paws scorched, much like what Leon could do. "Yeah, that was Grimm's magic! You can make fire like me!" Leon laughed. He raised his paw, gesturing for them to watch him again; then he tilted his head back, trying once more to build up the heat inside of his lungs.

Not surprisingly, it had backfired once again. Perhaps it was his excitement getting the better of him, or maybe the bear really hadn't mastered his magic yet. Either way, the heat bubbled up his throat, scorching the skin and burning his tongue again. "Mevermind!" He laughed once more, covering his mouth a second time. "Maybe you're bether than me!" The bear suggested. A joke of course, but he couldn't deny that his failures were ruled by his wild emotions, namely the high elation he felt now. "Keep on practithing!" He encouraged them while he nursed his burnt mouth, eager to sit by and watch them try out their magical skills.
