Come play? - Grimmloch - Jul 22 2015

WITH A THOUSAND LIES AND A GOOD DISGUISE

At first there was nothing, until there was something. But what was it? Oh, right. That was me- whatever I am. What ever I am, i'll be sure to be one hell of a thing. But for now, I would be left to my own thoughts- was that a dangerous thing, or annoying? While i was left to my own thoughts, other things started happening. I could now see the nothing- it was dark, all too dark. I could also hear the sound of nothing, but it seemed like everything all at the same time. And then- i could feel the darkness, or- maybe that was myself? And shortly after that, i felt everything. I was propped awkwardly against some sort of cold, hard, annoying thing. I moved, I could feel it. All of whatever I am was tight, and ready to combust. All in a swift action I spread myself out in every direction. And a sound that seemed way to loud for my senses rang in my .. thoughts? It seemed now I was no longer left to my own thoughts in that dark, hard, cold, annoying thing.

A loud sound inhaled then exhaled from my sniffer- i concentrated on focusing my lookers on my sniffer, until something burned the insides of my sniffer. But it was a good type of burning? The smell was..different. But better than that stupid, dark, cold, hard annoying thing. I made my lookers turn towards that thing, only to be lurched forwards and caught by two furry things that had points at the end of them. And what were these things? I struggled for all but a moment, and it seemed I was back up again. Walkers, that's what these are. My walkers we under me now. I moved one forward, and the other one moved with it. I then peered under me, I could see two more walkers, all covered in the same fluffy, soft stuff. F-fOUR waaalkers all too myseeelf?! It was unbelievable. What could they do? Other than carry me across this.. this stuff beneath me- and all around me. As I peered down I couldn't
t help but to also notice this hard, big, bright and shiney thing that was stuck to me. I tried to reach down to it with my nawers, but i just couldnt seem to get positioned right, and instead i fell over on my head. oommpf!. That was frustrating, and I shook my head and gathered myself back up on all four of my dandy walkers, then i froze. The light, it was all over. It was bright here- well, not exactly here. Elsewhere than my position was bright. It was still.. somewhat dark here. Brows furrowed and my lookers moved upwards, my head swinging in the same motion. He let out a loud, crackly coo. WAHOO! And now this! What was this?It towered over me- i was so tiny. It was fair. I paused for a second- i had just realized my thoughts were so clear, but the blurbs that fell from underneath my sniffer sounded.. well- like blurbs.

Well. It was time to be one hell of a thing. But first, I'd have to master these things that fall from underneath my sniffer. And I needed to find out what I was. But, were there others like me? Or was I the only thing here. My walkers lurched forwards once again, i was wobbly still, but made my way out from underneath this thing that kept me from the brightness that surrounded everywhere but here.

RE: Come play? - Usui - Jul 23 2015

Origin seemed to be witnessing its prime with a couple of baby gembounds suddenly making an appearance. As such, Usui had chosen to stick around the area and search for chrysalis in hopes that his presence might be able to help the young ones to survive – such as catching them a mouse or two. This day proved little exception as he brushed his way past the flora and fauna, sturdy limbs pushing through the foliage with swift ease and precision, rather much different from his clumsy actions when he was a wee cub. The youth stopped then and sniffed around, relying on his sense of smell instead of his magic as part of self-training. The air was fresh with a hint of spring but something else wafted through the air. The faint scent of a stranger wafted over. Immediately, he picked up his pace and headed towards the source whereupon he saw a little chocolate coloured bear. Usui stopped in front of the young one in surprise. "A little Leon?" he mused with a head tilt. And he’d just seen a little version of himself, or his species, in the form of Niru. This was very interesting. With a wag of his tail, the youth sat upon his haunches and leaned down to consider the brown puffball. "Hey there little bear, I’m Usui.” He waited to see how this gembound would react. After all, they all developed at different rates.

RE: Come play? - Leon - Jul 23 2015

For the second time in a few weeks, Leon left Pisces. The first time around he'd simply been following Makyna, intent on not letting her to get too far out of sight. He'd still been getting used to having her around again, and when she left, he felt further away from himself. He felt uneasy and fretful of what would happen to her, especially with Cancer lurking around in the caves somewhere, where ever he was. That day, Leon had been hot on Makyna's trail and followed her to Eridanus, where they found a young Gembound. This day however, Leon had left Makyna in Pisces, deciding that he was going to go adventure out on his own again. He was healing pretty nicely; the residual pain of Cancer's attack had slowly seeped away, and the radiation poisoning had faded into nothing more than the occasional sickness of his stomach. Even the gruesome wound crossing his throat and muzzle had begun to heal into a rigid scar.

It was time that Leon proved he could be useful to Maji Walezi again. He'd come back only to lay around and sleep most of the days away as he recovered; there wasn't much he could do to prove that he was useful to them. When the group originally formed, he'd often spent his time exploring and scouting out the nearby tunnels and caves. Now, Leon had a good idea of the majority of the caves. The South-West quadrant of the caves were still unfamiliar to him, and he was certain he would return to explore them thoroughly in due time, but for now he figured he may as well just do a routine patrol in a room he knew better. Eridanus.

A path long ago walked was covered over with the footprints of new creatures. Leon had his nose close to the earth, picking up the scents of Gembounds both unfamiliar to him and known. One of them belonged to a lion - Usui. The bear raised his head, slowly following the smell. He hadn't much chance to talk to the lion since the trial, and he didn't know what Usui would think of him after that. He only hoped that maybe his first impression of the bear - as a savior and a kind soul - would precede that which made him out to be a furious brawler. Even if it didn't, Leon was prepared to prove himself to Usui as he was to the rest of Maji Walezi.

Before long, he spotted the lion and overheard a few words; little Leon, and bear, were most curious to him. Leon blinked and shuffled closer, uttering a low chuff to announce himself to Usui and whoever he was with. He slowed his pace, craning his neck to see - lo and behold, a small child similar to Leon in make wobbled on uneasy, newborn legs. Leon couldn't help the smile that broke across his lips. "Hey Usui, who's this?" He asked, gaze flickering between the lion and the little bear cub as he approached from just off to the side, keeping a respectful distance until Usui granted him permission to approach. It was only right, after all.

The foliage was thick here, and it held a rather familiar twang as I sheepishly broke through the stalks if emerald grasses Until I reached a different area altogether. But the sound if voices up ahead caught me off guard, and I quickly sought a hiding place. However I had slim pickings, so I crouched as low as I could to the flooring. Small limbs still advanced my now flattened stature and soon, the voices were put to the faces. One was familiar, oh, what was his name? Usui! That's right, I recognized him due to the weird pouch he carried around. What on earth was he looking at? Then, something much much larger approached. Something I was far too unfamiliar with, and as it came looming toward the group, I froze in place. Jaded lenses grew wide, I could almost feel the pupils expand. What in the world was that thing? In this time, I wanted cancer with me. I wanted to hide underneath him, watch as he might embrace these creatures with the sternness he'd met me with. Or perhaps they knew him? What title did he hold, again? Something, and I knew my safety would be a million times better if I were with him. But I wasn't, no, I ventured off. But rather, the two seemed overwhelmingly kind. They observed the smaller gem bound, who was actually still larger than me. Oh great, I'm the smallest here. No matter, I would dazzle them with my mighty vibrations as a distraction for my quick, ninja inspired getaway- if that sort of thing was needed. However friendly they may appear, I will still exercise my right of caution. And so, slowly -no- glacially I advanced toward the group, coming from their forefront. Perhaps they will not see me, I am pretty stealthy anyway. But never the less, I remained flattened to the mire as I embarked, as if stalking prey. And as I neared, the newborn gem kind seemed much like me in my emergence- clumsy and confused. I wanted to help him, give him all the knowledge I had, but the monster that accompanied usui had me second guessing everything. But, I will show no fear.

WITH A THOUSAND LIES AND A GOOD DISGUISE

All at once i was facing two beasts, one held similar traits that looked like mine, and the other well- he had strange features on his back side that Peered around him to look at with a cocked brow. I fell back on my hind end lazily and gave a curious look to both of the creatures. Little Bear- is that what I am? Why so little- I paused as I jumped to walkers. I trotted towards the monstrosity sized me. why can't i be like you two, hm? I mused, borws furrowed as I directed the question towards both of them. I wandered over towards the other creature and studied him and his odd belongings up close. I was still confused, so I trailed back to where I was sitting. Facing them once more, i hesitated . I.. I'm Grr-er, I'm Grrimm. Grimmloch! I flashed my pearly baby whites at the two and waited, watched. And studied them both more.

And as I waited for a some sort of response from them, I heard something that crept into our presence ever so quietly- literally. My lookers darted every which way, and as I jolted left and right and behind me my head followed in the same motion. There was another .. creature here. He wasn't any where near as large as these two, my size, maybe. I wasn't going to stray anywhere, so I sat back down on my hind quarters. A brow cocked and my head tilted. Err, what was this creature doing? Did he not have any walkers like us? Or were they hidden under his odd self?

RE: Come play? - Usui - Jul 27 2015

Usui gazed upon the bear cub, still curious about his existence, when Leon appeared. He stared at Leon then back at the cub. Surely it was not by coincidence that they had gathered here. The lion almost wanted to ask if both bears were related when Leon asked him who this was. "Hey there Leon. Well…I have no idea, just found this fellow here.” He felt immense relief with the knowledge that Leon and this little bear cub were not affiliated - he did not know the reason though. Perhaps he was concerned for Makyna. No matter. Redirecting his attention from thought to the enthusiastic cub who had now jumped onto his paws, Usui gave a gentle chuckle and reached out a paw to ruffle the cub's head in a brotherly, friendly manner. "Hey kiddo, some time near the future you’ll be as big as Leon old pal here, eh?” A glimmer was in his eyes as he withdrew his paw and looked towards Leon. "What brings you here? Are your wounds better?" Pale green eyes flicked towards the scars inflicted upon his neck, certain that they were not going to heal that quickly. The lion flicked his tail, concerned for the big bear. He seemed to be healing but at a slow rate. As he turned to Leon, he spotted a tiny lion cub sneaking up on them and pretended not to notice it - as always, he was game to be caught or tagged ad roughoused by the young ones.

RE: Come play? - Leon - Jul 29 2015

Leon hadn't even noticed the slow advance of the little lion cub. What scent he carried was passed off as another smell rolling off of Usui, or maybe it was the smell of the bear child before them. He was relieved when Usui received him passively, tilting his head as he revealed that he'd merely discovered the child here. Leon silently turned back to the small bear, and he couldn't help the smile that slowly began to form on his jaws watching the child walk around before questioning why he was little. Why couldn't he be like them? "One day, you will be." Leon answered with a quiet chuckle. If the little bear was anything like Leon, he'd grow up to be massive. Leon himself was pretty big; he was pretty much an adult now, towering over many of his Gembound friends.

The babe continued to chatter, and Leon listened as he tested out a name, what he assumed was a name. Grr... Grrrr..... Grimmloch! Leon's smile broadened. "Well it's nice to meet you, Grimmloch!" The lion had already spoken Leon's name, so he found no need to repeat it. After a moment, Usui had turned his attention to Leon, questioning his wounds. Curious, Leon slowly tested the stiffness of his neck, rolling his head slightly. The deep scars across his throat and muzzle pulled with his skin, but they weren't too bad. In fact, they were healing quite nicely. "Getting there," He answered finally, shaking out his thick fur and focusing on Usui again. "I'm just trying to settle back into the usual routine... patrolling, what I did in Maji Walezi before I left." Leon explained with a huff. "What about you?"

After he asked the question, his gaze returned to Grimmloch, curiously observing the child.

Grimmloch! He was grimmloch, he knew his name. I was Niru! He should know. As I was spotted, I sat upright. Ceasing motion as I peered at Grimm with a small grin.

"I'm Niru!"

I mreowed louder than I intended, happier than I though I'd be. But for some reason, being with another baby was so much more fun than always being with adults! I loved my adults, I loved my cancer, but this Grimmloch seemed like loads of fun. I then remembered I wasn't just Grimm and I. It was usui and the larger beast who seemed to speak with kindness- much like wynry, much like cancer. I crept closer, slowly walking toward the group.

"I want to call you Grimm. Grimm! Do you have magic?! Watch!"

Inwas sure magic could be manifested each time I summoned it. At least, right? Lets try. I spread my little limbs four square, squeezed my eyes shut and focused to pull energy from my gemstone located in the epicenter of my chest cavity. I waited long moments, and still nothing. My eyes fluttered open, displaying the dull jade. Obsidian lined lips fell into a large frown, disclosing baby lion fangs. My eyes grew wide with sheer disappointment.

"OH NO! It always works! My magic?! I'll try again, in a little bit. It takes energy, you see, and-- "

I noticed I've literally never talked this much with anyone. So I shut up quick, ajar mouth pulling shut as my lips fell into a taut line. I shook my head once to sum up my finishing statement. Jaded lenses rose to the other two, severely disappointed in myself.

WITH A THOUSAND LIES AND A GOOD DISGUISE

They all spoke to me at almost the same time, all having something interesting to tell me. Usui, Leon, and Niru. It took me a second to gather anything to say, but finally, I jumped up to my paws and trotted towards the other cub. Magic? What Magic? He sure did have alot to say. and Mm, no. I don't think so. I glanced over towards the other two who were talking to eachother. I gave a questioning look and then wandered over to them. When I'm bigger, will I have magic? Or.. whatever Niru was talking about? I asked. I was gleaming at the thought. But before long I already noticed something rather interesting again- There was a bigger version of me.. and a bigger version of Niru! Do we all look alike? This sure is ... odd I added, looking to the three. I trotted back over to Leon, studying him once more, only to jump back over to Niru once more, realizing he fell silent. I'm sure you'll get your magic to work again next time!

RE: Come play? - Leon - Aug 15 2015

The bear had fallen silent for a moment, watching the little lion cub and the bear mingle with one another. The lion tried to perform some magic, but nothing seemed to come of it; Leon could only offer a sympathetic smile, and then the freshly hatched bear lumbered over towards them, asking about the magic - or whatever Niru was talking about. Niru, the lion cub. He stored the name away in his brain for use later on. Then more questions which caused Leon to laugh - it certainly was odd that the two children were mirrored by the two larger adults that had come wandering in. He couldn't help but find himself intrigued as to what kind of magic they both had. Seeing as neither of them had succeeded in demonstrating it yet, Leon took it upon himself to attempt a "real" display of magic.

Post-Roll Edit:
"You wanna see some real magic?" He asked with a snicker. Leon threw his head back and took in a deep breath, holding it in his lungs and allowing his internal energies to warm it up. Then he exhaled - and what was intended to be a gentle stream of flickering fire erupted in a hot, dangerous burst flames crawling forth from his lips, extending high into the air in an impressive fireball. Unfortunately, that wasn't exactly what he'd had in mind - anybody in close proximity to the bear would feel a wave of simmering heat powerful enough to singe their noses, while Leon himself was suddenly met with an unprecedented burning along his lips and tongue.

As the fireball withered away into smoke, Leon scowled and covered his mouth, comically sticking out his tongue. "Thee! Mathick!" He fumbled and uttered a manic laugh, a sound that was a mix between panic and instant regret.
