”Beau! Do you like that name?” came the awaited reply of Aza.

The dog barked happily and answered, “Yes! Yes! Beau likes Beau! Beau has name! Like Aza! Now we both have name!” His pink tongue came lolling out of his mouth and he panted and wagged his tail. Then he noticed it wagging out of the corner of his eye. It looked like it would taste good. He began the classic move of chasing his own tail around and around in circles, snapping at it every once in a while, trying to catch it in his mouth. Eventually the hard work paid off and he flopped over on the ground, munching happily on the fur on his tail.

He didn’t bite hard enough for it to hurt, just sort of softly kept the thing in his mouth for a while, bright eyes showing delight at having caught his “prey.” “Look, look!” he called to Aza, intent on showing off. But the second he opened his mouth to say it, his tail went flopping to the ground. He let out a whimper. “What happen? Beau had tail then not…” His brows went down in confusion, and then he sort of shrugged. “Oh well!” Behind him, his now slobbery tail thumped happily on the ground.

At the mention of a name for the happy little boy, the pu—no—Beau bounced in sheer delight and happiness. "Yes, we do." Azazel couldn’t help but chuckle lightly at the excitement and joy of this pup. Even just emerging from his chrysalis, he was an ecstatic little Gembound. Surely Wolf would love this new playmate! His tongue lolled out of his mouth, a little to the ave’s chagrin, and his tail wriggled again. But this time, Beau decided to… chase it? But why? Questions and doubts were lifted as the show became impossibly cute and spectacular. The pup spun in circles and circles, around and around, endlessly hunting for that tail.

Beau finally bowed over and happily munched on his tail. How was he able to tolerate that? All of that slobber on his fur? Azazel still felt the slimy saliva on his feathers, in places he had missed when he bathed himself quickly. Shuddering, he watched the pup shout gleefully. As soon as he opened his mouth, however, the tail swung back behind him. The slobbery appendage pounded joyfully on the ground behind him, sending bits of slobber flying. "You’ll always have your tail, Beau." Aza chuckled, hopping a little hesitantly toward the slobbery tail now moving once more, careful to avoid beads of the liquid. Pointing a talon to the boy’s tail, he nodded. "It’s part of you. When you lose it, it’s still there. Promise." The juvenile chirped, looking at the boy.

"Speech"

Beau looked behind him when his birdie friend pointed a talon at his backside. There it was! His tail had just been hiding from him, that was all! Maybe for chewing on it? He vowed never to chew on his tail again, if it was gonna be sad and hide when he did it. “Sorry, tail,” he said. “I’s not chew on you anymore.”

This had been quite an eventful day for the newborn Golden Retriever and he felt himself getting sleepy. He yawned a big yawn, and said sleepily to Aza, “I’s go sleep now? Tired…” And then his head plopped down on his paws and all that could be heard from him afterwards was a lot of snoring…

This kid was someone who absolutely made your heart melt. The innocent ball of sunshine would have no place in The Bonebound, but who could say no to that adorable face! The way he apologized to his tail as if it were his friend, Azazel gave a small chirp of awe. Cuteness overload was just simply too much. Flapping his wings gently, the puppy yawned loudly, little jaws gaping wide. "Yes, Bea—" Too late. The golden boy was already out like a light, and Azazel crooned a little. Soon, the bird found himself settling down next to the pup and stretching out a wing, resting over the pup so he had some warmth outside of the thermals in the bone fortresses. Yep, he was the bonedaddy alright. And so he faded off into sleep himself.
