The lioness was napping in Pisces, body curled up in her nest. It was a dream of immense sadness and anger that awoke her from her slumber. The feeling of dread, a nauseous gut-wrenching emotion that made her feel sick, overtook her entire body. What was so wrong? Had it just been the dream? Or was it something else? She tried going back to sleep but no, her body wasn't having it.
Something was definitely up.
Makyna rose to her paws, not even bothering to groom her fur or place the flower in front of her ear. She needed to find why this feeling was ripping at her gut. The source, she felt, was with Leon. Something or someone was troubling him and she would get to the bottom of it.
--------
It wasn't long before she found the tunnel by the feeling in her gut. It was only confirmed when she heard the angry shouting of her fiance. "Leon? Leon! What's the matter?" Her voice was filled with worry as she spurred herself into a run and rounded a corner to find both him and Amaria. A feeling of guilt wrenched her already torn belly to shreds. Her little sister... Oh, how she hadn't spent time with her in so long. Not that she hadn't wanted to she just hadn't gotten around to it with the preparations for the wedding and with the hole Merrymen and dragon business. It was terrible and Amaria must have felt so neglected... Was that the reason for all the anger in the air? Or was it something else?
"Amaria? Both of you... Tell me what's going on!" Still worried was her voice as she slowed to a trot and finally a stop near both Amaria and Leon. She stood slightly closer to the bear but managed to face them both. Her brows were creased with concern as she eyed the pair.
Subconsciously she lifted her tail and touched Leon's warm shoulder fur in a comforting gesture. She didn't like to see him upset like this and wanted nothing more than to snuggle into his fur and calm him down but that wasn't really an option with her little sister here and so upset. She wanted them both happy...

He had lunged forward and Amaria had been startled enough to emit a small cry of fright as she back-peddled a little bit further away from the bear. Her fear did not last long, however, and a fury quickly pitted itself right back into her gut. Smoldering all other emotions away as fresh tears tried to blind her vision once again. "Where was I?! I LEFT TO GET CANCER! WHILE EVERYONE ELSE WAS PAMPERING YOU AND CRYING OVER YOU CANCER WAS OUT THERE DYING!" She snapped, hissing and growling as her entire body began to grow rigid. "The only BULLSHIT he may have filled my head with was him apologizing for any of it! Not that you would care, mr. I'm so righteous! At least you were GIVEN the chance to prove you weren't some murderous asshole like you guys have condemned him as! You started it! You attacked him first! All because he felt like MAKYNA had ditched him in the first place! I saw it! She had no right to be mad at him for moving on and befriending that Fisher fellow! She had no right to yell at him for it! She deserved to be yelled at and be told how shitty it was! IF SHE WANTED TO BE WITH YOU THEN SHE SHOULD HAVE NEVER DRAGGED HIM ALONG!"
It always seemed to go right back to Makyna. No matter what the subject was it always seemed to bring her into it. No matter how much she had adored her sister, it was frustrating. "And who are YOU to say he cares or not?! With your biased opinion of him just because of your stupid love triangle with him!" His enraged roars rattled her, sent trembles of fear down her spine and straight to her toes. Though she still did not stand down from him. She would not. The twins fluttered through her thoughts and she could have cried even more. His ending words stung the most and she choked on a sob. "YOU DAMN SURE DIDN'T MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU WANTED ME AROUND EITHER! THERE WAS NO CHANCE TO LEAVE YOU! YOU ALREADY LEFT ME!" Her words came out louder than she had first anticipated, roaring with the sounds that were typical for her species.
The scent came before the lioness came running over and a snarl ripped through her throat. She was not surprised in the least. Of course she would come running to check on her fiance. Why wouldn't she. Or had Leon called her hear to add to his verbal assault against her. Fangs flashed into view as Makyna spoke, saying her name and it seemed all sense and thoughts had been washed away by the waves of emotions. She struck out before she even realized what she was doing. Claws hit, tearing into fur and flesh.
Eyes began to widen, filling even more with tears that had not even attempted to stop pouring. Horror tore across her features as she quickly stepped away from both of them. Run...Run! Her mind cried out to her, begging her to flee before she had to face the repercussions of what she had just done.
"I...you would...you would have been an uncle and aunt...." Her words sobbed from her, broken and trembling and before either of them could speak she turn and sprinted away from them. Running as fast as she could to escape the wrath she knew she would probably face for slapping Makyna. She hadn't meant it. Unsure of what even had came across her. She had never wanted to hurt either of her siblings....
"Speech."

All that happened next was a blur. She yelled at him some more, spewing more excuses but Leon was already too angry to accept them with rationality. He curled back his lips and snarled, shaking his head, resisting every urge to yell back at her - hell, it slipped out every now and then in the form of a furious "Bullshit!" and "You don't even know what you're talking about!" Every time he loomed another step closer, staring down at the small clouded leopard, encroaching on the feline - he didn't even know his intentions. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he struck her, it never even occurred to him to do it, and yet he found himself fighting the urge to attack. He shook with fury; he wanted her gone, and he wanted to prove her wrong, and he wanted to show her that he knew better and that he hadn't meant to neglect her.
Makyna suddenly appeared - her voice sounded out from behind him, and it was enough to nearly immediately soothe the rage burning inside of the massive bear. His orange eyes blinked and widened, and the snarl slowly faded away, lips closing over his teeth again. His mind was still a flurry of confusion and he couldn't fight the anger that remained stirring in him, but as soon as she joined the pair, he turned his head to look at her. His expression held the ghost of fury, but now it was beginning to calm into hardened despair. He wanted to lean into her, only - a lightning flash movement, a slap.
Leon froze, eyes still wide and his blood felt like it had turned to ice. His gaze was still fixed on Makyna when he saw the clouded leopard strike at her, claws unsheathed. Those eyes continued to grow wider as he registered what had happened. His gaze snapped to the leopard, then that expression of his reversed back into rage - only it was far angrier than it had been before. It was pure, blistering fury. It was the same anger he'd held when he went for Cancer. Someone had hurt his Makyna. She was going to pay. The bear didn't even hear what Amaria had said - his jaws cracked open in a furied roar, and another wave of sweltering heat exuded from his body before he lunged at her.
But she had already turned tail and fled. His paws itched to chase her and grab her and make her pay, but reason remained in the back of his mind - just barely. Leon snapped his jaws shut, seething. Hackles slowly relaxed and he turned back to Makyna, and though his anger persisted, it was very quickly joined by worry. "I'm sorry." He blubbered, as if it was his fault. It really was. He should have been calmer. He shouldn't have lost his temper - this was his fault. The bear's shoulders fell as he shuffled back to Makyna, gaze washing over her face, fretful of what Amaria had done. "I'm sorry, Makyna. This is my fault. Are you okay?" He breathed, raising a gentle, shaking paw to her face.

The lioness had not been expecting such fierce retaliation for trying to see about her sister and fiance so when the blow came she was caught completely off guard. Pain like three hot needles pierced through the flesh on her left cheek and eye. It wasn't the pain that was the most shocking... it was the fact that Amaria had done it. A feeling of confusion and betrayal mingled within her. She knew that she hadn't been around lately or been there for her but... Had it come to this? Did Amaria hate her now? When she'd slapped Cancer it had been borne of hate so that had to be the reason, right?
Tears sprang to her eyes as she stumbled back and away from the blow. Her rump landed on the ground against the wall while she curled into the cool surface. One paw lifted to touch her cheek, blood bubbling up from around it and dripping to the ground in slow drops. She didn't even see or hear what transpired next. She was lost in her own mind and feeling the sickening twist of anguish in her heart.
She didn't know when Leon had come back from her, she barely even registered what he said. Seeing his worried face she felt more tears fall. Her paw did not lift from the left side of her face, it still shielded her eye and the damage done from the claws. "She... She hit me..." It was all she could say at the moment. Still, her voice conveyed her hurt, betrayal, and even guilt. Perhaps she deserved it for abandoning Amaria when she most needed her... Maybe it was justice.

She looked absolutely stunned by what had happened, and the bear's heart hurt for her. This was his fault - it was completely his fault. If he hadn't lost his temper, if he even tried to give Amaria a chance, if he'd even given Cancer a chance then this wouldn't have happened. He didn't even know by what power Makyna had come to his aid, and he was grateful she did otherwise he wouldn't have known what his anger could've led him to do to Amaria. Yet her presence came with a sacrifice. He looked sadly at his mate who clutched her scathed cheek, cupping her other cheek in his paw. "Makyna, I'm so sorry..." He didn't even know what else to say. He had no excuses.

The lioness looked up at the large bear, paw still clasped over the wound. She'd only just come to see about that off feeling and now this had happened. The lioness almost wished she hadn't gotten up but then... Would Leon had taken the hit instead? She didn't want that either... Perhaps it was good that she came. The lioness leaned her golden cheek into the bear's paw, feeling the thermomative pulses in his paw. Had she lost another friend today?

Sure! Let's do that...
