The spire loomed nearby. Lux didn’t approach it too closely, but instead stared at it from a distance with slight awe, letting the strange power that seemed to radiate from the crystals fill her body. Her heart was thumping heavily in her chest from the power, making her feel almost like she was running will all her strength even though she laid still on the ground. It was almost exhausting in a way, but addicting in others. No wonder Tennessee had decided to make a home so close to this place. On the ground, in between her two paws, the heavy gem collar now rested. She’d slipped it off her neck, the muscles screaming with thankfulness to be relieved of the heavy burden. Lux knew vaguely what she was supposed to do – how she could stop having to carry it around at all. She just wasn’t sure if she was ready for that.

Was anyone really ready for a kid? Granted, she didn’t really have to do anything after she ‘revived’ the stone. Almost every gembound she’d come across was on their own. She had no obligation to give any possible kid the time of day. But deep down she knew she couldn’t do that. Even the random kids she’d come across lately had struck a chord with her. She couldn’t imagine something she actually helped create. Once this collar was given life again, whatever kind of creature it would be, she would be bound to protect it. … maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, though. She spent so much time wandering around and wondering what she was even doing with herself. There was nothing swaying her anywhere, no tug or drives besides to find something to do. Maybe having something to hold onto would give her some sense of purpose. It could root her a bit more. The hyena inhaled and exhaled, eyes moving down to the collar again. She dipped her head down, touching her nose to the cool stone and letting her eyes close. Lux was inexperienced about this, and still wasn’t even sure if she believed in the nonsense of reviving a stone in the first place. But either way, there was a flicker of curiosity, and she tried to focus on the cloudy aquamarine crystal. At first, it didn't feel like anything was happening. But then, almost like a tugging on the edges of her mind. Like a dam slowly breaking, allowing her own essence to trickle through, into the stone. She knew it was working.

Silently the lycanthrope prowled. Moving closer to the creature that had pulled his attention. He had thought them to be familiar. A hyena. Svenna. That mouthy little brought Svenna that he had the delight to have met when he was but a pup. He had came to see her, to show her he was no scrawny 'pup' anymore. Yet, as it turns out the closer he came towards this particular Hyena Damian would soon realize it was not at all Svenna. It left him mostly annoyed as he tested this new hyena's scent, logging it into his memory banks as he continued to study her. It seemed that he was not the only one to have been curious about a gem.

In all probity he would have lost all interest in this hyena if it had not been for the fact he spotted the gem she carried with her. Now he moved closer, uncaring if his presence would be known to the hyena now. "Greetings," He spoke smoothly, his voice deep and alluring. A smirk curled across his features as he continued forward on all fours, not yet rising to his full height. Wings remained neatly folded against his back only twitching every now and then as if they were eager to peel away from his form and give a nice stretch.

"That's an intriguing gem you have there," He commented, turning his gaze towards the collar she had just before her. Perhaps she had found it like he had found his two. Even more curious was the idea of if she was going to try putting life back into it. For a moment Damian wondered just what kind of creature had sported the gem collar before they had lost it. Then again, it really didn't matter at this point did it.

Lux had been too focused on the deed being done that she had no idea another creature lurked about. She pulled her head away from the gemstone finally, feeling the tug of exhaustion from putting her life into something else, though the magic of the spire nearby also flowed into her as if it was trying to help her replace what was lost. Eyelids drooped just a bit, a sense of serenity buzzing through her form. She would have to take this gem somewhere so it could be safe as it grew, if all went as it was supposed to. Greetings. That simple word was enough to shatter her little moment, causing her to come to full alertness in a split second. Defensiveness flared up in the hyena as she swerved her form around, staring hard at the creature who had snuck up on her. She hadn’t yet encountered anything terrible in her time in Polaris, but she was still on edge. Especially when he went on to mention her stone. Eyes darted down to the aquamarine before her foot moved, scooting it closer and under her form a bit more. ”It’s mine.” She stated, not at all skipping a beat to make sure this beast didn’t think he was going to steal the gem she’d just put her own life into. ”What do you want?” Perhaps not the friendliest gembound of the day.

Audits flicked forward. Almost amused by the response from the hyena. She was almost as snarky as Svenna had been. It nigh made him believe all hyena girls were the same. He snorted loudly, falling back to sit comfortably against his hind paws while he kept his arms positioned in front of him. "As I have clearely assumed," He scoffed at her remark, flicking his tail to and fro behind him. To see her move the gem beneath her left him even more amused. Had he not once done that with the seraphinite gem he had stolen that was now proudly worn around his neck?

"Calm your tail. I am not here for your precious little gem," His smirk grew, casting dark shadows across his features as he glanced towards where she had shoved the gem. "I am actually here to offer you an opportunity..." His words trailed off as he lifted his gaze towards the Hyena's own gaze. It had crossed his mind a couple times since the first two times he had breathed life into a gem. Though, he would not offer his own stone, perhaps he could convince here to shed a piece of her own. At the moment his only idea of being able to give life to a gem was by finding a gem that had been left behind after the body had finally rotted away. "If you're up for it...that is," He spoke again before waiting. He didn't want to waste his time here if she would only be here to snarl at him. He would eventually need to get back towards the spire to check on the other two gems before long.

Even though she didn’t relax completely, there was some obvious release of tension when the strange man said he was not going to try anything funny with her precious little gem. She moved then, shifting her stance to be more straightened, ears moving forward and taking in what he had to say. An “opportunity”, huh? That was a rather pleasing, scheming word. It definitely caught Lux’s attention, though she couldn’t have any idea what some random stranger could want from her. It sounded kind of sketchy, if anything at all, but she couldn’t lie and say that she wasn’t absolutely intrigued as well. She was torn for a small moment, wondering if she should just take her stone and leave to keep safe. But, no, of course she would have to hear at least a little more. If what he said wasn’t interesting, she would just leave. ”I’m listening.” She stated, keeping herself a bit distant from the intimidating presence that was the lycanthrope. Maybe if he wanted something from her, there would be something good on her end as well. ”But whatever your scheme is, I hope there’s something in it for me.”

She was listening. Finally. At least she was more developed in the brain than Svenna had been. For a moment he wondered where the feisty little she-devil had gone to anyways, but it was quickly put back in the forethoughsts of his mind to be forgotten about once more. Audits twitched and remained in attention as this hyena spoke her last words. Something in it for her? Well, there was no probity in him for that. A smirk curled across his features again as he watched her closely, "It would require a piece of your gem." He began, not yet jumping into the idea of what he could possibly give her in return for such a thing.

He paused for the longest of moments before drawing out his next words. "You would gain a child...and perhaps one favor to ask of me," He left it at that. It wasn't often he would allow a creature to give him a demand to follow. It would allow her to make one demand. Be it to fetch her a meal, or to find something of interest. Either way, it was all Damian really had to give in return as he was not about to give any of his items away just at the chance of creating life with this hyena.

Her little eyebrow dots furrowed as her confusion set in for a moment. ”A piece of my gem?” She echoed the statement, as if she didn’t understand. But only seconds later, the statement clicked, and she let out a small. ”Oh.” The hyena’s lips remained parted for a moment before she closed her mouth, a grimace of uncertainty passing over her features again as she nudged her foot alone the gemstone she’d already given life to. But even so, she wasn’t quick to say no. Instead, she tilted her head a little. ”But wait. I was told that you could revive a gem that died.” She stated, naïve and uncertain still. ”Can I just give you a piece of my stone? Wouldn’t that hurt?” Was it really possible to just break part of yourself off, use it to create life? She’d already settled in for the idea of raising this blue gem as her own, but if she were to actually be able to make a life from her own gem… well, she admitted it was somehow a very pleasing concept. She inhaled, exhaled, knowing even as the words left her mouth that this situation was so impulsive that it was probably stupid. ”Tell me how.”

"I don't know if it hurts..." He grumbled in response to her inquiry. It hadn't occured to him that possibly breaking off a piece of your gem would cause pain. For a moment his gaze lingered down towards the gem upon his hip. It was the thing that gave gembounds their magick and more than likely the ability to live. Amber eyes lifted when the Hyena wanted to know how and for a moment he was silent. He did not know how. He had never done it himself. It led him to wonder even more about how one could possibly use their own gem to breathe life into. Yet... there had to be a way.

He settled her with a look, searching for the gem that would surely be upon her being. "I imagine it would be the same way you breathed life into the gem before you..." He paused there for a moment, going over his own thoughts, "Or how we cast our magic. Just try thinking about it." At this point he rose his gaze to the Hyena's once again and waited. Perhaps she would try. Perhaps when she did try she would fail, but Damian would keep hope that it would actually work. If not then they would both be at a loss of what to do.

OoC: Sorry it's short.

The last thing that Lux wanted to do was feel pain, but she was too much captivated by the idea of one’s stone coming apart to really stop from trying, she supposed. She twisted her body, no thumbs available of course, and moved her head closer to the gem on her flank. Stupid, young, she tried to figure out how exactly this was even supposed to work. She opened her mouth, biting at her glossy gem for a moment, pressing her teeth down on it. But of course – that hurt. The gem was unmoved, but her gums and teeth quickly felt a soreness from the effort. Her eyes moved back to the lycanthrope man, huffing as she turned her head a bit as well. ”Are you playing tricks on me?” She asked. ”This thing seems pretty solid.”
