CAVE STATUS
QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
The dragon sputtered something back, and Gertrude was quick to retort, "Maybe you should have STOPPED growing instead of becoming some enlarged FREAK like that three-headed mutt!" A fraction of a second after Gertrude grabbed onto the dragon's ear, he was blown off with enough force to send him into the nearby tree, giving his back a few minor cuts that stung as blood bubbled to the surface.
"OH the NERVE! You WILL regret that!" He called out as he gained his footing. He fluffed his feathers and tucked his head towards his fluffy crop, "If you aren't scared, why do you have to use magic? HMM?"
Rearing, Gertrude shot forward. He was to Baratheon's left. This time he aimed to do some real damage (lol). Flapping hard, Gertrude winced at the new cuts along his back. He pushed forward though, aiming to run the sharp part of the top of his head gem across the dragon's throat, hopefully splitting it open enough to make the thing submit to him.

Finally! The dragon shook out his fluffy coat and pulled back his fangs as he kept his eye on the tree that the bird had flown into. Or... He thought it had flown into that one, it was actually hard to tell. The dragon had to push his ears forward to hear the words of the tiny creature. He couldn't help but laugh at the bird's taunt. For such a tiny thing he was rather fearless... Despite being annoyed at the thing he couldn't help but admire its pluck.
The dragon, learning from the past mistakes tucked his ears away at the sides of his head. "Aww, is the tiny bird jealous because I actually have magic? Perhaps if you didn't go headlong into battles you were sure to lose then you'd get a chance to develop and practice yours!" So far he'd seen no instance of magic from this creature, only foolish headlong assaults.
The bird launched itself at him and Baratheon saw instantly where it was going. With its tiny gem head it planned on aiming at his throat... where his tough scales were. While his scales weren't fireproof they were certainly tiny-bird proof. So, he allowed the gem head to get the satisfaction of getting his throat... but it did absolutely nothing.
"My turn..." He cranked his mouth open and let lose with a blast of energy at the bird.

The dragon taunted him again. As Gertrude skidded off the dragon's scales, he aimed to fly up... Straight up, "I don't need magic because I am strong enough by myself! Why don't you ask the krak bird that limps or the big bird that tried to defend krak or the three headed dog that tried to defend them both? Even if they had magic, I still always win!" He started laughing loudly. Technically, he hadn't won against Krakrak but whatever, he had a limp. Gertrude reached the peak of his flight, splaying his wings out with a few final laughs, "Yo seem not to be able to use your magic anyway! What good is it if it fails you?" Another peal of laughter spouted from the bird as he stopped flapping, and let his body fall beak first towards the creature. He was aiming for the creature's nose. He kept his body rigid, and his feathers fluffed to protect him from the fall, his wings ready to catch him whenever he needed.

Gertrude attempts Physical Combat ( DIVE TO HI NOSE )
He'd missed! The dragon clenched his fangs together and pumped pink smoke out of his nostrils in frustration. This slippery little beast was far too good at getting out of reach. After his little speech the thing fell down in a dive straight towards him. "What good are your physical attacks if they do absolutely nothing? Do you honestly think that you have any chance against me?" Sure, he'd get a few blows in but who could end up killing who here?
However, if he was so insistent on physical combat...
The bird threw himself at his nose and left a small, beak sized bump that stung a little. The tiny bird was now in the perfect spot to be chomped. The dragon's mouth opened slightly and he darted his head forward to attempt to grab the bird in his mouth. He didn't want to eat him but he did want to get a grip on Gertrude and hold him still just so he could shake some sense into the stupid thing.

Attacks: Grab him! Defenses: Pinned ears. Injuries: Small V-shaped tear in his left ear. Scratch under his right eye. Another tear in his left ear. Tiny bump on his nose.
The bird landed not nearly as hard as he had wanted to. Drat! The dragon said he couldn't do damage! Hah! He was wrong! He had barely left a scratch on Gertrude with magic and physical attacks combined! Gertrude went to laugh, but he was promptly grabbed by the Dragon, "Unhand me! I say, unhand me!" He was in a predicament now. The gragon had his lower third in his jaws! Gertrude couldn't think of a way out unless he got the dragon talking again or... grossed him out. It was going to be humiliating for both of them, but it might make the dragon let him go. Oh, he could barely stand the thought of it! Straining, Gertrude knew he had no other choice. He took a deep breath and squeezed, aiming to let loose all the remaining food in his lower gut into the Dragon's mouth.

The dragon grabbed the bird as gently as he could manage. It was quite hard with such a tiny specimen but he managed without swallowing or biting it in half. Couldn't he at least get some credit from the bird? Here he was trying his hardest not to eat it. He glared down at the creature --not that he could see it but still-- while he tightened his hold. Perhaps he could make it submit? Or...
He felt something wet and disgusting drop onto his tongue. What was... Oh shit.
All at once the dragon opened his mouth and spat, trying to rid himself of the foul substance on his tongue. How dare he? That disgusting little bastard! Baratheon roared and raged dropping his head down to bite at the snow so that he could use it to "rinse" his mouth out. "YOU DISGUSTING LITTLE SHIT! I'LL KILL YOU!" He roared after his mouth had been sufficiently wiped out.
He let out an earthshaking roar as he began to blast energy from his maw willy-nilly. He didn't know where the bird was but he was bound to hit him eventually.
So much for trying to be nice...

Well.... it worked. The dragon spat him out and roared in disgust, "Eat shit and die! Kraaaak!" ... Did he just krak? Certainly not. Gertrude flapped to regain his poise in the air. The other roared at him, flinging pebbles his way. Gertrude tried to be quick and spin out of the way of the attack. He got mid spin and was flung back into a tree trunk. The bird sputtered, "You have some nerve..." he coughed. He couldn't stand just yet, no matter how much he struggled. He slumped against the tree for a moment, breathing heavily and glaring at the beast.

Where was he? Where was that damned bird? Still spitting and cursing under his breath the dragon searched desperately with his good eye. Finally he found him slumped against the base of a tree. He might have pity for the pitiful creature before but now he only felt a searing rage and a want to destroy. He'd kill him! He'd kill him and eat him! With another roar the dragon raised one huge paw and balled it into a fist. Then, with all the force he had he brought it down towards the bird aiming to smash him into the ground.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100% RESTORED TO 100%
Hertrude watched painfully as the dragon approached. Slowly, he was able to gain his footing but not fast enough. The dragon raised his fist, and Gertrude squinted, but the dragon missed. Aha! an opening. Coughing once, Gertrude unfurled his wings. He kicked off, flapping as hard as he could muster. Pain burnt through him, but he was sure he could fly past the beast's face and reach his left ear again. If he couldn't defeat the thing, he would give him something to remember him by. Beak opening wide, Gertrude aimed to pierce the ear with his bottom jaw and slice it by scissoring his top jaw down on top of it.
His aim was off, his vision clouded by his pain and rage. He wobbled to the right in his flight, and found his left side of his body stuck in the beasts mouth once again. With his momentum, he tore past the rugged teeth and flopped out down the back of Baratheon's head (maybe down the dragon's back, but he was unsure). Pain seared his left side. Breathing was becoming difficult.

Gertrude attempts Physical Combat ( SLICE DAT EER )
The dragon's aim was off and he managed to miss the creature! Enraged he roared again as he saw the creature regain its footing and fly at him. Possibly at his ears. Preemptively he pinned them but the bird never made it that far. Instead it went through his mouth, out the other side and fell out of sight. Quickly he snaked his head around to try and keep track.
There! He could see the thing tumble down to long blue mane down towards his back. Well, while it was down...
The dragon gathered up saliva in his mouth and then spat it at the bird in hopes to use his magic to turn the saliva into ice once it hit the bird. With its wings pinned it couldn't do much now could it?
