It had felt the shift and the pulls a long time ago; the force of the world around them rocking and moving as if it were encountering an earthquake. They didn't know how long ago that was now - to them, it felt like an eternity had came and went already. Even so, it had almost been as if a lesson had been taught and engraved into their mind.

For days now, the chrysalis swelled in preparation to break. The creature inside however, was hesitant. They stared into the darkness at the walls that contained them, weary of the world outside and the shaking earthquakes it might contain. Something, however, had changed in them this day.

As the orbs of light began to dim down, the creature within the chrysalis stirred with new-found confidence. It listened for mere moments, before it's neck turned and craned in the cramped space of the chrysalis and suddenly thrust forwards.

The tough little nubs growing out from their head cracked against the solid wall of the chrysalis; immediately to crooked holes appeared within the smooth emerald stone, expanding and cracking as the head was removed from. It watched for a moment, as the fading light began to leak into the darkness.

Another shove to the wall of the chrysalis called the green stone to crumple and collapse on itself, causing the stocky, small figure to tumble out from it's prior home. It croaked and it chirped quizzically, lying on their belly with all four legs outstretched.

It was quiet for a moment longer, before it clucked contentedly. It lifted itself up, knees shaking weakly, as it gazed upon something that the shattered chrysalis had been next to. A pile of rocks, surrounded by sweet-smelling flowers and plants. Somewhere there was an opening, shrouded by thick vines.

They didn't quite know the significance of all of this, or the two shattered rocks near by - coloured reds, blues and greens - but for now, it didn't matter. They had to figure out what was going on.

All the different colours! Destiny had wandered away from the water for once, her young and curious attention drawn. Although she adored swimming, it could get tiresome after a while and there was only so much you could explore when you were this small.

So Destiny had clambered out of the pool and relaxed on the shore, until a distant splash of colour caught her eye. She'd never noticed that before!

Without a second thought the little platypus set out in a valiant waddle onwards to satiate her curiosity. She was getting nearer and nearer, and as she approached she realized that she wasn't alone here, either! A little chirrup of exvitement rose in her throat and she picked up the pace into a frantic flabby wiggle towards the strange new friend.

They had a beak! They had four legs! They were just like her!

Destiny watched, ecstatic as they rose, towering above her by miles. Woah... She gazed up with her rainbow eyes wide. Well... maybe they weren't exactly like her. But she loved it, anyway! How strange, how nice, how sweet.

"H-h-hello!" she squeaked excitedly. "Who're you, what's your n-name-?! -Oh!" She'd just noticed the shattered chrysalis. "Are you only new? O-oh, did you need any help? can I help ya?"

Kai wasn't so sure how much time had passed since since they broke out from their chrysalis - but they were feeling as though they had got their grips fairly quickly. Shaking, knobbly knees had managed to keep them standing and though they dared not to move, they were not falling over quite yet.

They couldn't figure out the room they had been born into; it was dark and bleak but from beyond the vines they could make out the dim light flooding through the thinner parts of the canopy. They stared longingly at it for a few moments, curious but unnmoving.

They couldn't risk the possibility of falling over of course, and so their gaze was drawn elsewhere, namely, to the emerald chrysalis they had just came out of. It was big - as big as them, in fact - and they had quickly decided that they were indeed quite big; perhaps even the biggest thing ever. It made total sense. Why shouldn't they be?

But then - something came through the vines. Briefly, Bevy's grave was illuminated with golden light, and then it was gone. Psuedo-ears flickered as the new gembound came through, speaking words that - for some reason - Kai understood perfectly. They felt as though they had heard something like it before, but the voice was totally unfamiliar to them.

They turned their head towards the bearer of the voice, bewilderment crossing their face. Kai had no idea what they looked like, but they were sure that they looked dramatically different from the creature that had stumbled towards them. They were much taller than them, for one (which only proved their theory of being the biggest thing ever to be true), and they didn't have hooves - they had strange wet things that flopped against the ground whenever she walked.

It was confusing; but Kai's head quickly did the math.

"Princess!" they stammered, voice coming as something halfway between the bray of a stag and the screech of an owl. "I am Kai! Do not worry, Princess, I need not help."

In that moment, Kai's purpose became clear - if only to them, and them alone. A pathway with forks in the road and rocks along the way opened up before them, and before they knew it, they were bounding down it; to what they could only assume was true glory.

"Come!" they said excitedly, tail flickering briefly as they took their first step forward. They stumbled slightly, very nearly tripping over their own hooves. They paused, wide-eyed and limbs spread apart. They turned to look at Destiny, alarmed, before they regained posture.

"W-worry not!" they stammered again, before beginning to trot past the vines and into Pisces itself, staring at their fumbling hooves in pure determination.

"P-P-Princess?" their first word to her left Destiny utterly stunned. She'd never been called princess before, and knew only vaguely what it meant. That couldn't have been meant for her, could it? Their screeching voice caused her eardrums to tremble but she, as a platypus, wasn't known for having amazing hearing. She didn't wince or anything so rude, just gazed admiringly with her iridescent eyes. They said it again! Princess!

Destiny felt her fur prickle with embarrassment and she shuffled her large flippers. "I-i-if ya say so! Aha... aha...?" For perhaps the first time, Destiny had no idea how to respond to this. She was truly dumbstruck and opened her bill in a broad smile. "If I may say, you do look quite dashing yourself!" the little creature chirruped out, remembering her manners, still curious, but also well and truly flattered.

"P-p-pleasure to meet you, K-k-k... augh... Kai!"

A few moments passed and then the young one set off with a little stumble. Destiny panicked a little and raced closer, but they'd righted themselves before she could get very far. One of the many problems of being so small and chubby. "I'll come, I'll come! Where are we going? Don't fall, I'll look after you," Destiny gave a determined nod, although it was unlikely she'd be able to do much. They quickly reassured her though Destiny still retained a little sliver of concern. They didn't even give her the chance to admire the surroundings as they trotted off.

Destiny waddled frantically as she tried to keep up.
