Munin
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
Hugin and Munin had not left each others side since their hatching; even as a great slime-coloured beast that called itself an Orarian chased them out, they had flown across the waters together. For Munin, it was an entirely natural thing to remain so close to his sibling for such an extended amount of time (though it hadn't really been that long.)

They moved together through a strange cold tunnel filled with snow, where water leaked from the ceiling and dripped onto the cold ground, following gut feeling and instinct until they found themselves in a new place; somewhere much different to the tunnel and the room with the Oarian.

This room was darker, lit dimly by orbs of light that draped the walls. The ceiling was completely covered in shining quartz stones, like stars against an inky black sky. Munin stopped for a moment to observe, until keen eyes caught sight of a derlict town that could have been abandoned for hundreds of years for all they knew: there was a narrow path leading to a throne, empty save for the shards of shattered chrysalises covering the seat, arms and ground around it.

Were they alone? Munin had seen other creatures - fish, rats, sleeping bats - but none of them other than himself, Hugin and the Orarian could speak, unless he had just decided not to listen properly to them.

"Hugin," the raven began, soft-spoken. "What is this place?" He knew deep down his brother didn't really know any better than they did; but it would be nice to at least get a second opinion from the other raven.

"The wise speak only of what they know."

Hugin
Liars see their own kind everywhere.

Hugin had not wasted a single thought on why he && Munin were staying together. It was simply a thing that he knew, like he knew what he could eat && what not to, like he knew how to fly, to breathe && to see.

To him, that was just how the things were supposed to be. Especially after leaving Orarion && the room of their birth behind. Maybe, leaving the place he'd been born in behind should have made him sad or angry, but Hugin felt strangely euphoric.

Exploring the caves with his sibling instilled a sort of awe in him that was pure, childish && innocent. Despite the vast general knowledge he'd been born with, he was still but a child.
Landing beside Munin && observing the new room they'd come to, Hugin felt like that was where they could stay. "A kingdom." Hugin spoke, his eyes tunneling in on the throne sitting above the ruins.

If there was no one to hunt them off again, Hugin though that he would be quite content to stay there, at least for a while.
Of course they would have to explore the rest of the Cave ( Hugin could see more Tunnels branching off the room ), but that could wait until they had settled.

"Our kindgdom, Munin." Hugin's voice betrayed how much he liked that notion.
He didn't see himself as a King, but having a place to rule over, a place to call their own definitely pleased him. "If you would like to stay here. I think it would make for a good home." The raven said as his eyes roamed over the ruins, taking in all the heightened places from where they could watch the whole room && see all the entrances.

"The wise speak only of what they know."

Munin
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
Munin stared at the ruins for a moment, taking in each building: the ones that have collapsed in one themselves, some with no roofs and some still intact, but empty and desolate. He mused over the idea for a moment. "Our kingdom," they echoed with a hint of humour in their tone.

The smaller raven stepped forward, eyeing the ceiling now. "Is this what the creature meant by our world?" he said more to himself, thinking over the idea for a moment before he turned his gaze left, and then right, then back behind him towards Hugin. "Surely, Hugin, we are not the first?"

It may not have been the thing Hugin would want to hear, but it was a possibility at the very least. He watched his sibling for a moment. The blue stone on his chest began to glow as he reached out with his beak to very gently touch it against the other raven's.

The sign of affection turned to something that felt more like a spark of electricity between the two rather than a quiet clicking of beaks. To Munin, it was completely natural - something almost ritualistic, that had to be done, even if he wasn't too sure why.

His mind practically opened like a pathway for Hugin; although he did not communicate to him yet it was clear the option was there regardless. He turned once more. "It's a good place to make a home of," he said aloud - as if the events that just transpired were completely irrelevant. "But we should check for neighbours."

"The wise speak only of what they know."

Liars see their own kind everywhere.

"I don't know, but I'm sure there have been others && there will be more." Hugin agreed, his dark gaze taking in the sight of their home. Theirs.

The clicking of Munin's beak against Hugin's stone resounded in his mind, like the echo of a key unlocking a door. Suddenly, his mind was bigger. His && Munin's conscious melted into one, freeing their thoughts && opening them to the other.
Possible an odd turn of events for some, but Hugin felt like a burden he'd been shouldering alone was now evenly distributed between him && Munin, while he helped shoulder his sibling's burden as well.

"Yes." The raven said, feeling the tingle in the stone on his chest fade away, his head turning so he could meet Munin's gaze. I will check the right side of this room, will you take the left? The thought echoed in their mind with Hugin's voice.

"The wise speak only of what they know."
