This was an odd exercise, as he was creating life alone. There was no celebration, no intimate moment to be shared by someone he loved and as he poured his being into the inanimate objects all he felt was a hollow emptiness. It was not a unification of two creatures who loved each other. Instead, it was just a creature born of death. Louie's lips pursed as he frowned down at the three gems, two already throbbing with the lives they were beginning to produce. Never had a child born of the fox been a precious moment, rather overshadowed by how the gems had ended up within his paws. Even the one time he had shared the act, it had been foolish. Merely an attempt to create something more powerful in the prokaryotic world and whether or not it had succeeded thus far he was not sure.
It appeared that the element of the prokaryote was becoming scarce. These three would be its redemption. A shaky breath as he steadily pushed his nose against the topaz. Eyes closing, he tried to feel
something for what he was doing. Not just the steady pull on his own life force, but something that would invoke some form of paternal feeling. A need to be a father to the trio of mismatched creations. A final spark, as the topaz inhaled its newest lease on life.
Each now glowed happily. Content to be nestled beside each other where they would take root and grow. As a precautionary measure, he nosed them apart enough so that they may grow freely. Iliad had been huge upon hatching, he wished not to place discomfort on one of them should it emerge in such a manner. Louie looked on forlornly, before he placed his chin in his paws as his odd coloured eyes watched them closely. Once again he had participated in this ritual alone. Forever he would wander as the solitary creature that he was.
These children, would be his release.
