QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

Septiezal's heart pounded in his serpentine chest. He was clear nervous, especially now since his oppentant, Mosi was there before him. Although he had grown bigger and stronger since the fight with the rats, the juvenile python was still unsure of himself. This fight would be completely different than anything he had ever been in before. No, magic, not claws--teeth, no trying to squeeze the life out of Mosi. The python wonder how he was going to win against him without his natural weapons, if he could at all. He was going to have to think outside the box this time. This was going to be interesting.
An airy hiss escaped from his throat as he eyed Mosi. He tucked his long, scaley body in the defensive posture like he had always done before a fight. At this point, Septiezal would have tried to bite his opponent, to grab a hold of his flesh to he could wrap around them, but that would draw blood, hurting the canine. A lightbulb went off in the snake's head. Maybe if I can make him think I'm going to bite him. He could lash out, to keep Mosi at bay for a awhile, or maybe even distract him. Septiezal decided to go with this plan.
The python struck forward, his mouth gaping open, revealing his monstrous teeth to his opponent. He had managed to stick to his aim, as he his head lurched straight at Mosi's face, fangs out stretched, ready to bite. Suddenly, Septiezal snapped himself back just before his teeth could hook the canine. The python recoiled back to defense, hissing louder than before, as to say "Bring it!"
Hmph, he couldn't believe he'd let himself be roped into this silly competition. Being in the midst of so many mortals was... aggravating. However, he needed to keep his appearances up and show the mortals a taste of his power starting with this "Septiezal". A strange name but one he supposed fit a serpent. In any case he would use this vessel to inflict fear and not harm into this creature. He would abide by the mortal's silly rules and do what they said.
It was time to begin, after the annoying dragon finished his speech he sought out the snake that he was to battle and now they stood across from each other, ready to battle. Being the "gentleman" that he was the canine creature stood back, awaiting the young snake's move.. and move he did. The snake lunged straight at him with huge fangs bared as it seemed he would get quite a bite to the chest.
Not wanting to test if the snake was going to follow the rules he leaped backwards but found that it was simply a feint. After putting more distance between them he stopped, feeling silly as he stood with his paws stretched and claws gripping the earth for balance. His four eyes glared down at the snake while a smile curved at his maw. He had guts that was for sure. "Nice move, serpent but watch as I show thee what a god can do." With that he let out a growl and lunged straight at Septiezal. One paw was raised and ready to smack down on the snake's head and pin him to the earth to end this thing before it even started. Trapping his head onto the ground in a submission hold wouldn't really hurt him, but how could the snake fight with his head trapped?

Oh boy... Septiezal thought when the two-eyed canine claimed he was a god. If his eyes could squint dubiously, they would have reflected his opinion. He's... delusional. Were the only words that ran through his mind before Mosi's paw came down on his head, smothering him into the ground. The serpent flailed his body wildly, hoping to squirm out of the canine creature's vice grip. His heart raced after as he realized what Mosi had done. No, not like this. How could have let this crazy mutt-thing capture his head so easily? This was so embarrassing! It was degrading! But, Septiezal knew the fight was not over yet. With his head trapped, the python could not see, he could not taste, he could not bite, but unlike most snakes, his teeth were not his only weapon.
A serpentine tail, stout with thick muscle, rose up from the ground like a second head and lashed out at Mosi. Everything about using his tail as club felt unnatural, but he had to get creative if he wanted to best this so-called god. From under the canine's pads, he could not see where he was aiming, but Septiezal prayed it would hit him hard. "Speech." Thoughts...
Attack: Tail whack
Defense: Wriggle out of Mosi's paw
The canine creature let out a fierce laugh as he caught the python's head beneath his paw. "Come on, serpent, is this all thine power?" taunting was in his DNA and he couldn't help but do it now as he felt his opponent's body wriggling beneath his pads. It made him feel powerful to just hold Septiezal here and he wondered how long he would get to before the snake gave up...
But he didn't.
The serpent's tail came out of nowhere and smacked him right on the nose. With a pained yelp Mosi stepped back and away from the snake, releasing Septiezal's head. One of the gembound's paws came up and rubbed at his sore nose. "Thou shalt pay!" His once taunting voice now sounded nasally with the light injury and with a snarl he leaped at Septiezal's body, this time he wanted to trap the lizard's tail and neck beneath his front two feet.

If drawing blood was not barred from this match, then Septiezal would have twisted his head around sunk his fangs into Mosi's foot in response to having his neck pinned. He fought the instinct, but it was becoming increasingly tempting as the pressure pinched his throat. Now he was angry. It seemed like the more he struggled, the more this canine seemed to top him. He urged his muscles to push against the ground harder. They obeyed to the best of their abilities, slowly sliding his body under Mosi's paws. Stress gripped like a his own teeth gripped a mouse. He didn't know how much more he could take of this squishing. He needed be get free! Now!
"Is..is this all you can do?" Septiezal wheezed with his throat still trapped. His eyes looked at the canine, blazing with unbridled fury as if they reflected the untamable nature of fire. His pupils contracted into sharp slits as they stared at the four eyes of his opponent. " I'm... not.. impressed." Septiezal drew his mouth ajar in a serpentine snarl, flashing his unholy teeth. "You're not a god..." The snake hissed defiantly. "You are a coward!"
As strain gripped his body tighter and tighter, a single instinct became clear, it was perhaps a snake's best kept secret. It was not going to be the most glamourous tactic, but Septiezal options were thinning out. Now it was now it was only a matter of punishing Mosi paws for keeping him down here so long. A pungent musk escaped the python's cloaca. The sickly smelling liquid spilled out, covering everything it touches in a repugnant odor.
"Speech." Thoughts...
Attack: Joins in on the taunt game
Defense: Disgusting snake musk
This was pitiful, this poor snake could hardly do a thing about his body being trapped to the ground. "Incomplete beast. Doth thou wish thine body had limbs? Hmm?" He chuckled out under his breath. His head lowered, his voice whispering to the snake. "'Tis not but this is a competition... If it wasn't, you'd already be dead." His lips curved up into a grin, green slime dripping slowly from his maw at his mounting excitement. Oh, how he wished he could dig his fangs into this snakes back and rip him in half but he couldn't. Not now... Maybe later when this fight wasn't part of a stupid "Olympics" and he was free to do as he wished.
The next words had him snarling in irritation... but also... admiration. Here he was at the mercy of Mosi's paws and he still had the strength to fight and not call it quits. "Oh, I am and thou shalt realize it one way or another, serpent." He could smell a disgusting odor emitting from the snake's body now but it seemed to keep from staining him... though it also made him lift his head away. Nose wrinkling in obvious disgust. "What is that? Art thou emitting the stench of fear? Tsk, disgusting..." But expected. No matter what words he spoke the snake was still terrified, as all mortals were.
Feeling a momentary surge of power at having made the snake "wet" himself out of fear the canine creature lifted the paw that was securing the snake's tail and aimed to clout him over the head with claws sheathed so as not to draw blood, still the blow wouldn't be a light one if it landed. "Will thou surrender?"

"Never."
Cliched, but it was true. Septiezal was not one to give up so easily. Half of him wished this was a real fight, so he could unleash his full potential. He wanted to strike at this delusional Gemound and show him the wrath of his jaws, leave him gasping for air under his thick coils, and scorch his paws to a blackened crisp should they ever trap him again. But, most of all, Septiezal wanted to prove this insane "god", and to himself, that he does not need limbs to make his foe doubt their own immortality. This was not a battle to death however, and Septiezal had already come to terms that he could be defeated by an annoying pebble-brain with a god-complex in this tamed duel of brawn. He was okay with that outcome, even if it meant suffering more sour taunts Mosi's drippling mouth. For now he would try his best, but this would be far from over.
Like a charm, his musk, while not staining the canine creature's paws like he'd hoped, did distract him into freeing his tail momentarily. This was exactly the window he was hoping for and he knew he couldn't afford to let it slide by. Septiezal ducked at Mosi's blow just as his sheathed paw came swooping passed, barely grazing the scales on top of his head. Like a whip, he thrusted his powerful tail forward to wrap around the canine's neck. Should he hit his target, the python noted to himself to not constrict all of of Mosi's air flow. This was a gentleman's duel after all.
"Speech." Thoughts...
Attack: Attempt to wrap tail around Mosi's neck
Defense: Dodge Mosi's pimp slap.
He had to admit that he had no idea what an "Olympics" was and even after the descriptions that had been given, he was none-the-wiser. Still, once his friend's name was called for the wrestling competition he had to go show his support. Septiezal was a... buddy, of his and he wanted to be sure that the snake knew it. He also wanted to be sure that the snake knew he was there so that he would see just how good of a friend he was. Still as the little pup was watching the brutish display he couldn't help but notice the size and strength of this "Mosi". It made him want to become "friends" with that fellow as well... until those words about being a "god" left his lips.
Lunatic.
The pup rolled his eyes focused on Septiezal. He couldn't have a buffoon as a friend, not one with a puffed up ego anyway. That would only make a headache. No, Septiezal was just fine for him. He would be even more fine if he won this fight. "Go, Septiezal! Go! Go!" He cheered, barking loud enough where he knew the snake would hear him. Perfect, now he just had to sit and watch the results.
For someone with no legs he was actually doing pretty well!
The beast laughed at the snake's defiant words. Well, he'd just have to beat the submission into him. His paw passed over the snake's head, harmlessly grazing the scales as the serpent dodged out of the way. Hmph, irritating but nothing he couldn't work around.
In the crowd he could hear the cheering and the urges of the gembounds telling them to duke it out. It fueled him, gave him power! With a savage grin he tightened he attempted to tighten his paw around the snake but stopped when he saw that tail coming at him. Not willing to be caught by the same trick twice he ducked, letting the appendage pass harmless by his head. Now was his chance!
He attempted to tighten the paw about the snake's head and if he did so he would toss the snake roughly away with his strange hand-like paws.

She must really be bored... She does like the idea of these Olympics an interesting challenge, a nice new thing to do so things don't get repetitive. However, in the midst of waiting for the challenge she has entered to begin. It's just... Sigh just start already! Mean at least make the locations of the events a little more spread out! That way she had something to do! Sitting around waiting isn't her forte, it's inwardly frustrating, not too much she isn't yelling these things she just thought nor does she feel angry about it, not at all she's calm as always, it is utterly annoying though. So bored that she's on her way to spectate one of the combatants’ fight in the Wrestling Competition. Out of all the 3 events this is the one this pacifistic wolf wanted nothing to do with. She knows it's more like sparring and no actual extreme violence is probably not going to come from it, but she doesn't know even just seeing the aggressive actions in this competition gives the wolf a twinge or maybe even scoff of disapproval. But she's going to watch anyway because since the Obstacle Course she's in isn't going to start soon, she really has nothing better to do if she can't leave Polaris for a bit. She really should've entered the Magicka Competition too, that way she had more things to do then again she only knows 3 Spells, one she doesn’t think will do much to impress the judges.
Walking over she sees a pair in combat that have now begun their fight did catch her interest though. A quadruped & the opponent is limbless? Interesting dynamic... But there's something else, about the quadruped... She tries to get a bit closer, perhaps at a distance where they can't see her still and of course not in their arena for combat. With approaching more now, she has a better view now, first seeing how this canine strangely has four eyes. While that certainly is new for sure, for some reason there's something about a 4 eye canine that she feels she can recall, even though she is sure she has never encountered one of the sort before. She sits down to watch it, very invested in this now as she was sure that she's heard of that kind of canine before. Hmmm... While she was interested in him, it wasn't a positive kind of interest, no the feeling she gets is that if she recalls why he seems familiar, then she'll strongly wish to stay away from him, she already feels a bad vibe from him so much that she is already hoping for the snake there to win.
Things have begun now and snake makes the first attempt, mm a psych huh? Deceptive one. Still when the canine says 'God' that strangely sounds familiar too. In response to this though she gave a rather small unimpressed snort almost wanting to laugh, he sounds utterly narcissistic. If it wasn't for the bad vibe the canine has she by this time would be inwardly cheering on the serpent, although she was cheering for the serpent the moment she came by. Emphasis on inwardly though. She won't be yelling out her cheers. She doesn't want the attention from making too much noise, even if everyone else is doing it.
Rina's thoughts went back into trying to remember how this canine was familiar. What did the dragon say was the name? Mo-something? No there was something else in it, she knows she has heard a name like that before though. Ah that's right! The dragon said 'Mosi'! A long pause then came to Rinaotei when she thought the name finally feeling the realization come over to her now ...Ah... Right... Now she remembers... The fool that the raven chick Albeon apparently had a less a desirable encounter with, the description does fit physically wise to what Albeon said and he did mention about a 'God-complex' which matches as well after referring himself as a 'God'.
She watches on, she may hate violence but she would like to observe to conclude whether she really should stray away from this canine and analyse herself. He did look like a wolf... But yeah it is hard to tell the other part, Albeon seemed sure it was spider though. And the young raven chick did want her to inform him about if she ever sees the beast herself so yeah be a good idea to stick around. She wanted to observe if the things Albeon said were all true about him, the one thing she immediately took note of when the chick spoke of him was that Mosi possesses a petty temper, better see if that one is true or not. She'll definitely be having none of Mosi's nonsense if it's true.
Watching on and being a little satisfied how Mosi was tail smacked, good the battle is on the snake's side right now, still hearing Mosi yell out in anger how the serpent will pay, after he made all those taunts at the snake. While it is bad to assume to label 'temper' Mosi's indignant response to a small whack seemed to indicate that Albeon's claim about temper was true and this is more than enough to show that she needs to stay away. More so when he pinned the snake down and made those God-Wannabe like remarks again and while it was hard to hear him when he whispered, but her own wolf ears did help her catch the tone of the voice. Oh... There's the 'revolting green slime' she thought the chick was making that up. Yeah so far she isn't impressed at all... Albeon was right, this Mosi here is utterly despicable & pitiful. Never mind... She'll watch and have her Magicka on the snake that the dragon called 'Septiezal'. At least, she's not the only one who's hoping for Septiezal to win, another canine nearby is cheering for him too. She does wonder if the raven chick is here though, could let him vent out again about what he did to him, whilst possibly seeing how not many seem to like Mosi...
