After she'd zoomed back over to the Spire --she noticed that a few of the competitors still were trying to run around it-- the little filly carefully began to try and stick up her stick. After placing the rock on the ground and re-situating the stick in her mouth she used tried to orient it into the earth. The other gems still making laps distracted her and the fact that she didn't have any fingers made it quite difficult. A few times the little branch fell over but finally she got to stay end-up.

A joyous little nicker escaped her mouth before she once again grabbed her rock and turned towards the finish!

Hey guys! To help hurry things along you are now allowed to post every two days regardless of if every one else has had a rotation!

Destiny's flippers churned in the upturned dirt as she tore blindly after the other competitors of the race, her breaths whistling out of her bill. Waddle waddle, waddle waddle... She patiently followed the vibrations and the sounds of the river, patiently clambering over rises as they presented themselves. She was panting heavily soon enough, but she knew she had to keep going. Since she'd gotten past those hurdles, she felt like nothing could stop her! not anymore!

At a steady pace, before Destiny knew it, she had completed her first lap and was beginning her second. It was then that she heard the distant echoes of a voice, a familiar shout ahead of her. Concern suddenly flooded through her chest, and she picked up the pace despite her now-desperate panting for air.

She knew that voice.

It wasn't too long after that that she crashed into something. What it was, exactly, she had no idea, but she didn't care. Either way, she cried out: "Kito! Are you there? It's okay, momma's here!"

Although in truth, she didn't know where he was or how far ahead. She just knew that they were both in this race. But either way, it didn't really matter. She'd just have to continue on, and see how it went. Swinging her head around, she waddled on. C'mon. Last lap. You can do this.

destiny catches up to you...

Kito picked up a twenty sided pebble and tossed it into the air. Whether he moved or not depended on this little pebble right here.

"C'mon! C'mon!" He pleaded as it fell down and bounced around his hooves. Kito lowered his head and squinted at the little dots (or were they numbers?) that riddled the little rock. He found himself face to face with a seven.


"ARGH" He growled. The pinned his ears at the pebble and picked it up with his lips. Kito walked at few steps, maybe at least seven steps, he didn't count, and reluctantly stood still, swishing his tail angrily as he watched the Gembounds carry on with the race. Upon hearing Destiny's voice call out to him, he flicked and ear towards her direction and saw that she was waddling past him. He was happy to see Momma Destiny again, but he also thought it was pretty sad that a blind duck-beaver was beating him. "I'm right here!" he brayed to her. He then hung his head and let out a sad sigh. Dumb dice.

OOC: Hello over there!

Now instead of dirt & hurdles like previously, Rinaotei now sees The Spire towering over before her. From the back of her mind she recalls that she must climb around this tower two laps in succession in order to proceed to the next step. Making up for the lost time is of utmost importance as of right now, and so she bolted towards to the Spire she utterly needs to catch up...

There are others ahead of Rinaotei, they're far ahead yes very much so, but not completely unreachable to catch up with, and she really wants to ensure that she is at least putting some effort in this. Once again taking advantage of the factor how she is lacking in body mass that could weigh her down in movement, she was once again making use of her good agility. She has already completed her first lap, looking good... Really nice progress. But her overconfidence has made Rinaotei too laidback, especially since she is trying to avert being a bit too hasty from what happened earlier, so with that her concentration she has on keeping her body focused has dropped a little, so much that Rina never realised that some of her claws weren't retracted properly and one digs into the ground a little. Since Rinaotei doesn't know this is happening, sure enough fleet paws here make a try to continue onward with a step forward, but her claw jams up a bit, which holds Rinaotei long enough to lose balance just a bit, not as bad as the pitiful crash with the hurdles but she almost did fall off the Spire... Saved herself though.

"Walked right into that mistake... At least I'm giving the judges an amusing free show from how entertaining my consistent failures are..." She snarked at herself, how many mess ups is that now really? She needs a tally at this point… Still not irritated no way, it's not in her really, it's alright really it's a contest, completely unnecessary to get flustered or upset about it, some others seemed to be having fun with it... Even if she knew absolutely none of them, unsurprising she's always on the move no time to make a lot of bonds. Well that was just a small slip up, can easily be picked back up from, she just needs to continue on.

"HAHAHA!! YES!" Kito shrieked. He bounded around the Spire in a blaze of black and white. The foal kicked up his back hooves in pure happiness. Finally he was off! No sore hooves, no creepy head friends, no clumsy legs, there was nothing that was going to stop him from completing these laps. As finished galloping around the Spire a second time, the zebra foal gave out another triumphant buck, signifying his completion of this obstacle.

What's next.. oh yeah! The river!

He raced off towards the river as fast as could, catching up with the other Gembounds . As happy as he was, there was still a shadow of doubt that crossed his mind that the almighty dice wasn't done with him yet.

Faelan leaped on to the smooth top side of a large crystal cluster that grew several tail lengths away from the Spire so that he could watch the competitors go through the second part of the Obstacle Course. Thanatos and Kito started out in the lead, but both equines quickly took leg, or hoof, injuries, slowing their progress considerably. In the time it took the two to make their first laps, the black and white canine finally appeared over the last hurdle, with the platypus not far behind. For some reason, Kito seemed to have stopped entirely before trying for his second lap, allowing the canine to catch up, before it too seemed to take a leg, or paw, injury. From where he was, it was hard for the young Gembound to tell exactly how the participants were injured, but the general area was obvious from all of their limping.

The platypus called out to Kito as if to help him, drawing Faelan's attention back to the competition. For some strange reason, the zebra called out to while standing completely still. Wasn't he even interested in winning? The honey hued cub thought as his brow furrowed in confusion. Before he could come up with an answer though, the black and white equine suddenly took off, making his last lap around the Spire, and easily catching up to Destiny. Just as he, and the platypus, headed for the river though, Saga raced back into sight.

It didn't seem to matter how long the filly took to place her stick in the ground beside the Spire, because she was still far ahead of everyone else. When she finally got it though, and began her sprint for the finish line, Faelan watched with wide, curious orbs, his tufted tail lashing behind him. Did they have a winner!?! He wondered excitedly, forgetting about the other competitors for the moment as he held his breath to see if Saga would make it to the end.

The colt stood, and although his ankles hurt from tripping, he was sturdy enough to keep going. Many others were ahead of him by a ways, but the poor zebra colt seemed to be having even a harder time, limping pathetically around the spire before him. Snorting loudly the colt picked up speed to close the distance between himself and the spire, making tight turns around it and careful to avoid colliding with any of the other racers. Saga was much farther ahead than he, but he'd do everything in his power to catch up!

The cub's words rang through his ears as he approached the pile of sticks and rocks.

Find the rock with the red mark. Grab a stick.

That sounded easy enough. Kito bent his head down and began to sift through the mound with his muzzle. Rocks and sticks tumbled as his nose pushed them aside and rolled to his hooves. Kito squinted at the rocks. Where was the one with the red marking? What even did red look like?

"I wish I wasn't color blind right now." He said to himself as he buried his nose deeper. A rock tumbled into the foals view as he knocked aside a few others. Green paint was sloppily painted on its gray exterior. Kito looked at it for a moment and touched it with his lip. Could this be it?

Maybe it appears green because you can't see reds.

Kito perked up at the voice. "You could be right." he replied out loud. The foal giggled as he reached down for the painted rock. "Haha! I don't even know what red looks like!" Kito's lips fumbled over the green red stone and he snatched it up with his front teeth.

Hmm.. I wonder if the others can see red.

"Of course they can... I think." Kito said to his head friend through the stone clinched between his incisors. "This is genre is animal fantasy!"

The zebra turn around picked up a stick and firmly held it with his lips. He reared, braying excitedly, and galloped back towards the Spire.

Alright now seriously, stop screwing up it's getting sad at this point Rinaotei... She keeps on snarking and nitpicking at herself over how bad things look. Well... thankfully Rina didn't fall off from that slip up so she doesn't need to start again, so she just needs to finish this last lap. Quickly having a small check to see if all her claws really are retracted, to ensure that doesn't happen again. Satisfied she continued on once again at lightning fast speed, picking her velocity back up fairly quickly as she went around the stairs like Spire Tower once again briskly. She wishes that she did take these visits on her adventures, as taking out some time to train on the Spire, could've had an easier chance that way.

Aright pick up the pace.... Alright! Success! Thankfully the Spire wasn't as tedious as her problems with the hurdles were thank goodness.

Next up is the Crystal River... She's been there a few times so she knows which way to go to reach it. She is still behind some of the others racers right now, but let's see how things go now, she's a bit more confident with this part of the race.
