QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

The warmth of the boar's body was washed away as he rolled over, exposing her to the wrath of her mother... that, surprisingly never came. Serendipity was plucked from the ground and placed on the feline's golden back. The liogoose released a breath that she didn't know she'd been holding as her mom's nose brushed lovingly over her. The relief and fear was audible as she spoke and for now she was happy that she wasn't getting yelled at. Though that was certainly to come later. For now, she just breathed a sigh of relief and gave her mom's dark nose a lick. "I'm sorry, Mama... I won't do it no more." A lie, one that she told many times over to temporarily appease the raging lioness.
Then, the moment was over as it was time for interrogations. Her mom's tone turned icy as she addressed the pig's use of the word "pretty". Ser nearly scoffed out loud. Well, duh, of course he knew what it meant! Why else would he use it? She knew better than to say that out loud though and simply played with her claws as the "now" rang from her mother's maw. "Was just 'splorin' an' then me an' this guy were... uh... playin'. Then, we slipped in the river." She glanced upwards, trying to meet the boar's eyes from behind her mother's head. "Playing" would go over much easier than "fighting because of being called 'pretty'" and hopefully he would catch on to the little truth-twisting from her gaze.

Now that he'd had some time to reflect, time he probably should've listened to the lioness instead of toning her out, he stood with a sigh and carefully limped back to where they were originally. "We were digging for gems, and she dropped hers in the river." He lied, lifting the apple sized gem out of the dirt, and then dropped it before her paws. "We tried to get it but we couldn't, so I guess she can have mine." He huffed and sat back down, fearlessly looking into the Lioness' eyes. If he had pupils it'd be pretty easy to call his bluff, but his eyes were an even amber color constantly. He didn't know what pretty meant apparently, since she was saying it like it wasn't an insult, but had he known he would have sincerely considered the liogoose to be so. He admired her tenacity as well, it reminded him of his first cycle even if he wasn't nearly that small even back then.

She listened to both of their tales. First with Serendipity telling her that they were just playing and then with the boar expounding upon what exactly they were doing at play. "Finding gems" seemed like an innocent enough hobby... if that was what they'd been doing. Somehow with the evidence pointing against them she highly doubted either of them were telling the truth. The suspicions she held were voiced by a rather loud snort as she eyed first the boar and then Serendipity. "I could forcibly search both of your minds and get the truth." The gem on her head shimmered as if she were preparing to do so as she stared back into the male's eyes but then she shook her head and sighed. "But I won't." Some boundaries should never be crossed and did it really matter what happened? They were both safe now... more or less. Hadn't the boar been limping? "As long as you both are fine now..." Her tail lashed as the last vestiges of her anger evaporated to be replaced with an exhaustion.
Her teeth gritted in her maw as she could feel the very kindness she'd been trying to suppress since that day she'd killed Arkrael resurfacing. "What happened to your leg? Did you hurt it in the fall?" She could feel Serendipity climbing from her back and heading towards the gem at her paws. The gem was about the same size as her tiny daughter but even so, it was sweet of the boar to give it to her. Too kind... Did he really intend to call her daughter pretty then? "That is very nice of you." Her voice held a slightly suspicious tone but what could she do? Tell him he couldn't share the gem? It was his to give away... It just worried her was all.

Ser heaved a silent sigh of relief when the pig picked up on what she was trying to create and had enough foresight to even add onto the story. Her mother didn't seem to believe them but didn't pursue. She didn't even tap into that Arcane magick that she held to search their minds... Not that her mom had ever done that before. It was an invasion of privacy that thankfully the lioness did not breech.
While her mother questioned the boar Serendipity climbed from her back and down to the large blue gem that the boar placed in front of them. He was giving that to her? Oh no... not the flutteries... They were coming back! But this time she didn't yell and insult him. Instead she looked down at the ground and said quite quietly, "Thank you..." She honestly had lost the other gem that she'd dug up so this one would be nice... If she could pick it up. She wrapped her forepaws around the stone but it was obvious that she wouldn't be able to get very far with pulling it.

"I'm fine, but she's your problem now." He huffed, acting all masculine. He turned to leave and pretend he wasn't hurt, but his hoof hit a pebble at the surface of the mud, and a crack was almost audible as he heaved forward into the ground with a deafening squeal. On earth we'd say his squeal was as loud as a jet engine, but in Origins the accurate way to describe it would probably be "HOLY FUCK MY EARS HOW THEY BLEED".

It wasn't just her voice being suspicious now, it was her eyes as she watched him. He claimed to be fine --along with his words that Ser was her problem now-- as he turned to leave his leg let out an audible snap. The lioness winced at the awful sound and then snarled at the next one which was his loud squealing that was one of the loudest sounds she'd ever heard. She ducked her head, pulling her ears into the sides of her skull. Whelp, that did it. She couldn't leave him here with an obviously broken leg... Not that she'd ever fixed a broken leg before. Bevy had always been the healer, not she. Still she had to try but she needed to get him to an area with herbs and not this place devoid of most of the helpful vegetation.
Again she attempted to access her magick but found it stubbornly out of her reach. Of course, right when she needed it most. "Quiet! Hold still or you'll make it worse!" The lioness stepped forward, ears still pinned and eyes narrowed in pain at the deafening noise in her ears. The cat inspected the leg as she tried to decide on a course of action. Hmm... she was certain there were some plants around here. Perhaps she could find some to kill pain or call him down so he'd be easier to lift back to Cetus. "Alright, I'm going to find you some herbs. Serendipity, stay here with him." She turned one last glare on her daughter before taking off at a spring, on the prowl for herbs.

Seeing as she'd been standing right in front of the boar and pretty much at ground zero of the sound with her height the liogoose found herself caught completely off-guard at the sound. Her tiny body hit the dirt as she threw her paws over her ears and curled up into a tiny little ball until it stopped. Her mother threw a glare her way and told her to stay put which honestly she didn't want to leave, not with the boar sitting there in pain. Sure, he was a stupid boar with stupid tusks but he did give her this pretty gem... he also called her pretty, so there was that.
The little liogoose walked up to his face and stared into is eyes, too young to be embarrassed by the action. "Don't worry. My Mama yells a lot but she knows what she's doin'. An' I promise, when she's not mad she's, uh, sorta nice." There were those times she told her and her siblings stories and hunted for them and smiled. So long as she stayed home and did what she was told. "An' uh, thanks, for not tellin' my mom that we were fightin' an' all that." Although if he had they probably both would have been in way more trouble.

The boar had squealed until his lungs deflated, and he barely was able to suck enough air in to keep himself conscious between choked airless sobs. He limply smacked his hoof against the mud, begging for relief from this pain with all pretense of masculinity lost. Around him clusters of fungus grew, his magicka delivering him an answer however slight. He tried to raise himself to bite into the growths but collapsed again, dizzy from pain and lack of oxygen.

After she'd dashed away the lioness made a beeline for what she knew used to be a ranch in Polaris. It had fallen into disrepair like some sort of ghost town but there was still a little garden there with sweet smelling flowers. Even though she was just smelling them they called her nerves down considerably. Dormire Flowers. The perfect remedy for calming down and possibly making a pig sleep. The lioness wasted no time in plucking a mouthful of the flowers. Carefully she made sure not to bite them in half with her fangs as she ran back towards the pair of younglings.
Where the pig lay there was a cluster of mushrooms and Serendipity stood there, attempting to help the large creature eat. It tugged at her heartstrings as it made her think of days long past when she would have done similar things to her friends. The lioness didn't know what these mushrooms were, perhaps they were the good kind. Grown in response to the pig's plight by his own magicka reserves. "I've got it, Seren." The lioness dropped the flowers in front of the pigs nose before taking one and holding it out to him. If he would allow the lioness would pick up the flowers and the mushrooms and feed them to him herself, making sure that he would get them all so that he would be lulled into a pleasant sleep away from the pain.

The boar seemed to be in too much pain to respond to anything that she said. For some reason... she felt a bit of worry in her chest. Was he going to b okay? Would he ever walk again? The thought of their little adventure turning out to permanently cripple the pig made her feel awful. Nervously she continued to stare, not saying anything now as she just watched him. It wasn't until the mushrooms began to sprout that she found herself distracted away from his plight.
Why were those here? Had he grown them? Most likely, she remembered that he'd done the fruit-smelling ones before. The boar was attempting to eat the things but seemed to weak to be able to pull them into his mouth. Seeing her chance the liogoose grabbed one of the shrooms and attempted to push it against his maw, trying to aid in his endeavors.
"I've got it, Seren." Her mother's voice cut into her ears and the tiny gembound took a step back to let her elder take over the situation while she watched from behind.
