Blackberry staggered away, rage coursing through every bone in her body. Her broken wing hung limp and it throbbed with incredible pain. More painful then the cougar's claws and the cobra's bite. How DARE this wolf beat her! How DARE they DARE to mutilate her! And HOW DARE they brag about being unscathed in front of her! How dare they lie about the obvious! And to intimidate her!

No, she would not leave. Her pride demanded that she stay here and her anger rooted her to the spot. Fear of death was thrown from her bones. There was no way she was leaving now, no way she was going to oblige to the dumb wolf's threats.

She stood her ground and tried to ignore the pain shooting up her shoulder, although it was hard to do so. Unable to spit out a word, she hissed with anger and stepped back, defensively.

Astaroth frowned as he watched the goose go into a defensive posture, refusing to leave, he didn't want to have to do this, but he refused to let them stick around here. They were too chaotic, he couldn't control them. So he summed up his energy, his eyes glowing dimly as he lifted a broken leg bone some ways away. He pointed it straight at the goose before his eyes shone bright, the bone whistling as it flew forward, too fast for him to even see, straight at the gosling. A morbid spear of jagged bone.

It was in that moment that something in her brain clicked back into place. When she saw the frown on the wolf's face, when a spike of pain ran up her shoulder. Her vision cleared and all she was concerned about was getting away. Regroup. Heal. So by the time the bone bullet was flying past her, she was already moving, her good wing fluttering to give her speed as she threw herself to the side. Fear sparked in her eyes. It would have been bad should that bone had hit her, especially if it had hit her other wing. She looked up at the wolf, realizing what had happened. Had she really dared to fight him? Did she really think she could have won?

Stupid! Stupid! She scolded herself for thinking she could have defeated such a foe, for thinking that she could have emerged on top. The past was blurry, she could barely remember what had prompted her to fight.

Without thinking or saying anything else, she rolled away and went tumbling down the pile of bones, cringing with each sharp piece that poked at her feathers. By the time she had reached the ground, she had picked up a number of extra scratches and bruises. Her whole body was in pain, but none of it compared to the searing agony from her shattered wing. As she stood shakily to flee, she turned back and saw the wolf. Anger boiled in her stomach. She had been defeated. Yes, it had been a predictable defeat, but a defeat nonetheless. She hissed a curse under her breath and turned away, her wing draped at a weird angle. What would she do now?

Once she had put some distance between her and the wolf, she stopped. She could not keep moving. She could not continue. She sat, whimpering with pain. "Where are you, Moose?" she whispered. If he could come and heal her with his plants or wrap her wing in his vines, then things would be better. But she had left him. She had flown away and left him behind. Why had she done that?

"MOOSE! I NEED YOU!!"

Astaroth laid down once the goose was gone, watching her tumble down the pile of bones in her terror. He meant to speak to her in mind but his magick wouldn't come to him, he was tired. So he just yelled out to them. "Come back again and you'll lose more than your wing!" He then howled up to the roof, proclaiming that another had lost to him.
