Reseda huffed when her spell missed. Well, the Moose dodged. She had a lot of trouble with that spell and it was always annoying when it didn't find its target. Besides, this fight would be much easier and would have already ended had she been able to hit the Moose.

Perhaps she would get it this time. She locked her eyes on and focused. Energy built and built until she was practically brimming with energy. However, it happened again. There was too much to control and it spiraled from her body without her able to do anything. The air was rent in front of her as the energy exploded from her body and she was sent flying back, the gems in the opposite direction. She smashed into the wall with a loud crack as her leg broke and another as she fell hard onto the ground as a rib snapped.

Stunned, she sat there for a moment before instinct kicked in. She scrambled to her feet and without a single thought or glance back, she turned and limped away as fast as she could.

*exit, unless Blue gives chase

Blue watched and snickered as the Komodo's magick backfired, sending her flying into a wall. But what caught his attention was the hthree of his children going in the opposite direction. Blueberry ran after them, cringing as he heard them fall to the floor. Carefully, he scooped them up into his mouth and set off to find Blackberry.

Reseda waited, she watched carefully as the moose collected the gems and left, probably to go back to the goose. Once she was sure it was gone, she crawled back to the alcove, her broken leg trailing useless behind her. That defeat had been bad and she had lost the gems to boot. But she couldn't give chase, her injury would drag her down and, by the time she would have caught up with the moose, it would have reunited with the goose. No, she had to let it go.

She flopped down in her nest and focused her magic on her broken leg and rib. There was a sharp feeling under her skin and a pulling as the snapped bones pulled themselves together and sealed a bit. It was weak and she didn't dare but any stress on the bones. It almost felt like a single movement would snap them again. She breathed carefully so as not to undo her work and prepared to give herself another dose.

Reseda focused magic again and this time felt a slight wave of sickness as it rolled over her barely healed bones. They pressed closer together as they began to mend a little bit more until she could barely keep the spell going. Her head was starting to spin from the effort and her leg and chest were throbbing, probably swollen too. But at least it was mostly healed now. She would probably have to do it again later, but it would be okay for now.

She laid her head on top of her claws and thought. She thought about what things would have been like if she had taken the gems successfully. Those would have been powerful assets, strong things that would have propelled her farther. How many had been terrorized by the goose and the moose? How many would have cowered in fear before their children.

Drowsy from the fight and the expended magic, she quietly drifted off, deciding to return to the bone room when she was able.
