Kin-Kin guessed by their excited response that she'd gotten it right, and bared her teeth in a wolfish grin. She puffed out her chest, a proud look in her eye, tail waving beneath her cloak, and watched as the pup pawed the chalk towards her. The wolf tilted her head, squinting at it before her ears perked sharply as she understood, she raised her tail again to tap into her magic, but as she approached the wall she paused, appearing to think long and hard. As an afterthought she turned back to the pup and picked up the chalk with a wink their way...

As she turned to face the wall again though, she hit a blank. The chalk drooped at the side of her mouth as she stared at the now-glowing sigils. She thought of her name; Kin-Kin. What did Kin-Kin mean? It meant family, of course. The problem there, being... well... she had no family. So how could she put it in a symbol? She settled back down and contemplated.

Finally, she leaned in and, holding tight onto the rock, began to scratch at the wall. It took a while, but she managed a crudely scribbled heart. A little longer, and she'd given it two little eyes, ears, and a nose. After settling back to admire her handiwork, she looked back at the pup. "Kin," she explained briskly. "So..."

She lowered her head and scribbled the symbol again, this time managing it a little easier. She gestured to the two symbols, side by side. "Kin-Kin."

Finally she dropped the chalk, opening her jaw and sticking out her tongue to get rid of the taste.

I smiled, gently touching the two symbols that kin-kin made, I made sure to remember it. After a moment, I looked back towards kin kin and made a motion towards the glowing light she drew over my own name with a paw, wanting to find out more about how she did that and possibly learn how to do things just as amazing!

Kin-Kin watched the eager motion they made towards her glowing marks. She bared her teeth in a grin and offered a nod. She'd said earlier that there was a lot more where that came from, and she wasn't lying. Kin-Kin's title spoke true; demigod and master of light. And even if she'd fallen out of touch with her ego, her pride remained sure of her skill.

The she-wolf again turned parallel to the wall and raised her tail, resting the glowing tip against her own chalk markings. As before, she traced the markings- aiming to make them glow just as brightly. And where the fur of her tail traced, it left lines of glowing light, until her own symbols too, were glowing brightly. The light wouldn't last forever, she knew, but they'd certainly last until she and the pup were long gone.

I watched in awe as Kin-kin used her tail to make her name glow. She truly was amazing! When she was done, I looked up to her, both physically and emotionally, i wanted to learn more from her. My attention switched from her to her tail, then the gem resting on her chest. That was the thing I believed was helping her to do this, after all it was radiating energy like it had been active. I curiously reached out to touch it.

The she-wolf was pleased that the pup seemed excited by her spellcasting. Grinning, she settled back down and raised her head tall, her glow once again spreading across her fur. She looked down once again as she felt a pat against the gem upon her chest. The stone was warm and smooth, radiating power. Her ears twitched, grin fading into a bemused look. She allowed the pup that touch, but soon stepped back and planted her paws. She had a plan in mind, something that she did for most of the young ones she met, and something that would hopefully spark even more of an interest in magic, though she wasn't sure of their capabilities.

"So, kid- ya got anything hidden up your sleeve?" she was sure they'd figure it out once she showed them a thing or two. "I mean... paint's pretty nice, but it ain't my specialty." she winked at the pup in a playful fashion, stepping back so that her paws were set against bare stone.

The earth at her paws creaked as her paws themselves glowed brighter- as the stone itself reformed beneath them. There was a groan and a sound like straining glass, and the magic left a hollow in the earth. Kin-Kin lifted her paw and eased the result from its hollow- nudging a small pink gem towards the puppy. It wasn't the finest gem she'd produced, but not the worst, either. A little dull, but still pretty.

I looked down at the gem in awe, gently touching it with a paw, then decided to pick it up in my mouth. I looked up at kin-kin with awe and excitement, my tail was wagging hard side to side. It was obvious that she made a great impression on me and I wanted to learn from her how to do amazing things of my own. I didn’t know how to start on that though. A faint flickering glow was emitting from the pink zircon on my head.

Kin-Kin examined the pup closely, narrowing her eyes slightly and watching as they picked up the gem she'd made them. She nodded approvingly. She got the impression that they wanted to know more, so she tilted her head slightly, and nodded. "Okay, magic practice. Sure!" she said, closing her eyes in a moment of thought. "Okay, so. Magic comes in different types, and that affects what you find easiest, and what's harder to learn. My natural magic is light. We don't know what kind of magic you have, but the principle is always the same. You can do anything with magic, if you try hard enough."

She paused for a moment to make sure the pup was still listening, then continued. "To cast a spell, you gotta look inwards. Focus on your gem, try to find the source of magic inside you- and then push it into the real world. Make it physical. Got it?" Kin-Kin's glow dulled as she acted on her words, focusing again on the stone that was now in the pup's mouth.

The crystal pulsed slightly like a little candle- and then began to glow steadily.

I was unaware of the gem in my mouth glowing. I laid down and closed my eyes. Searching for a feeling, any special feeling...

I found something deep within me, yet it was radiating from my mind... deep within my mind actually...

The gem on my head started to glow, giving off more and more energy. I was continuing to focus though, forcing any magic i felt in me out through the focus point I was feeling, which happened to be the gem on my forehead.

Kin-Kin watched as the pup concentrated, all the excitement quashed into pure concentration. The older wolf nodded approvingly, tail swishing beneath her cloak. The pup seemed to have struck gold, and she could tell that they’d found the source of magic inside them- even if it appeared to be taking some time to manifest. She couldn’t tell what their element was, or if they’d managed to actually accomplish anything; all she could really do was wait and see what came out.

"You got it, kid! Keep going!"

I focused very hard, the gem on my head was glowing...

I forced the magic out of me, yet nothing seemed to happen with me physically...

I just didn’t feel any major change with me, but it definitely was noticeable to Kin-kin that some random stone nearby had moved slightly, seemingly by itself. I was exhausted from trying so here yet seeing nothing happening, unaware that I made a nearby rock move.
