Wilder's ears perked and she smiled. "Eridanus is very pretty! I met a friend there! It's name is Squick! Squick is a worm!" She did not comment any more about how she had made friends with a worm but instead looked up and down Orlaith, her eyes widening when she mentioned getting bigger. "Oh, wow, you're gonna be bigger?!" It was oddly strange to her that other got bigger as they grew. She, after all, barely grew when she was growing. Now, as an adult, she was barely bigger then she had been at hatching.

But then she remembered that she'd actually met another tiger! She tried to imagine how big he was (he was massive!) and then tried to imagine Orlaith being that big. It blew her mind a little bit that her friend was going to be so big. "When you're that big, can I ride on your back? I wonder what it's like to see the world from being so tall!"

As Orlaith moved away, Wilder hopped to her feet and scampered over, plopping down next to her. And idea came to her mind as her friend mentioned wanting to sleep. "Okay, how about I show you around in dreams? I wanna try and do that! You can go to sleep and I'll use magic to show you the caves while you rest!"

Orlaith opened her eyes for a moment then closed again. Though the cub had listened to everything her friend had said, she was really tired, so couldn't respond much. Though, it was a fun idea to have Wilder show her around in dreams. Sure, why not? "Sure Wilder, you can show me around the caves while I'm asleep. I'll see you in real life when I'm awake." Those were all the words she could manage, and she sounded real drowsy while she spoke. It didn't take long for her to be out cold, and she fell into a nice peaceful sleep curled up in her comfy spot. This was the first time Orlaith was hearing that magic could be used to walk in dreams. How arcane, yet magical.

Wilder sat down and curled up next to her friend, who she noticed had gone to sleep. She knew she could do it, or, at least, she thought she could. It was magic. She knew how to use magic. So she closed her eyes and tried to make it happen, almost like she was connecting her mind to theirs, like she did when she spoke to Squick. But it wasn't working that way. It seemed that the sleeping mind was different then the waking one.

She tried again, this time shifting it so that she was gentler, more enveloping of Orlaith's mind. Instead of a direct connection, she tried to use the arcane whispers to settle over her, like a soft blanket. But, once again, she didn't have the effect that she was looking for. She didn't even manage to establish a normal connection, although that could be attributed to the fact that Orlaith's mind was not awake. She pulled back, trying to think of a solution to this problem.

The longer she sat next to Orlaith the more frusterated she got. She began scratching at the rocks, as if trying to draw up some kind of diagram of how to do this. Her magic always seemed to come through impulse. But now that she wanted to do something real, something thought out, she just couldn't do it. That was a little annoying.

Wilder was starting to get a headeache. Maybe, instead of working so hard, she would just fall asleep too. Just lie down next to Orlaith and take a nap. Magic was so hard...

Despite her dizziness, Wilder was determined to keep trying. She reached forward again with her magic and tried to probe at Orlaith's sleeping mind but she, herself was beginning to fall asleep. She was tired...so tired...she just wanted to sleep and dream...

It was then, half asleep, tired, and still using her magic, did the bolt of energy pass through Wilder's body. Her thin connection with Orlaith might have passed the energy onto her too - it wouldn't hurt, but it was an intense feeling. However, for Wilder, it hurt. It hurt like the day she hatched, when the Spire had reached forward and struck her with lightning.

She screeched and tumbled back, the bolt of magic piercing deep within her body, gripping her hard and smashing down on her consciousness. It only took a second for her entire body to go rigid and her eyes to dull. Her fur began to bristle and her tail was pointed straight and stiff. A gurgling noise came from deep in her throat and her head whipped around strangely, as if looking for something but it was strangely unhinged, dragging along with the movement.

Where was the Spire where was the magic. Where was it where was it. She wanted it she needed it. Where i̸s̴ ̷t̶h̴e̷ ̷m̵͘ͅá̶̠g̶͔͐i̶͇͂ĉ̸̭.

Orlaith wasn't waking up. She hadn't heard the noises Wilder had made and the little cat no longer made any move to complete the spell she had started. Instead, her tail whipped behind her and she twisted around, as if there was something nearby that was bothering her. "I want it. I want magic! It's all a lie!"

All of a sudden she shot off, heading towards the tunnel to Polaris. She would not make it all the way before her trance wore off, but she would be long gone by the time the tiger awoke again.
