It wandered. Alone, detached, deep in thought. It thought of its family and of itself - what it was, what it was doing, where it would go from here. There was much to consider. Wilder had given life to it, yes, but did it really owe her a great dept for such a thing? After all, she was a creature of physical being. Mortal. As was Bauble - that strange amalgamation that Wilder had called its brother. They sure didn't look related at all. Where Bauble was winged and sturdy, white furred beast, Regalia was delicate and fluid, black swirling deity, littered with lights. At least it shared a similar color with its parent. Bauble was irrelevant.

It floated along, hovering a few inches off the stone floor of Polaris, glowing golden orbs fixed ahead, taking in the smells, the sights, and the sounds of this cave. It was filled with so much energy, sometimes a shiver ran through its figure, the gas displacing for a moment, cat-shape wavering for an instant before it settled back into place. As time had gone on, its form had gone from what was barely a waving shadow of a cat to a pronounced, recognizable shape. It based itself off of its mother - big ears, long tail, stubby legs and all. If only it moved like a cat, then perhaps it could be mistaken for one. Perhaps with strange colors and glowing eyes, but a cat all the same.

A sound soon became apparent in its senses. Something was moving, gushing, making quite the racket. Attracted by this new sensation, it floating forward until it found itself staring down at the crystal clear body of the river. Its neck stretched and eyes moved down to stare at itself through the water. Never before had it been given a mirror with which to observe itself and it found itself filled with a sense of delight. It had seen bits of itself before, but with the glowing golden eyes, the well-tempered shape...yes, it was beautiful!

It continued to stare into the water, internally gushing over its own appearance, the gas of its body occasionally changing shape as it tested different looks in the mirror.
