Fisher clung on to her paw as hard as he dared, hoping she wouldn't get hurt from the effort. He felt numb through most of his body now, as she pulled him out, but then he felt a grip on his scruff and suddenly Makyna yanked him out the rest of the way and pulled him far, far away from the edge.

Shivering, Fisher caught his breath, coughing a little. It was wonderful to be on hard, solid ground again, even if he was freezing and he couldn't feel his toes. He heard Makyna's heavy breath, and half registered the question she asked. The lion cub's tongue ran over his fur the wrong way, which he wanted to fuss over but actually it was quite reassuring. His foggy mind cleared up, blinking as he made sense of the situation. He had almost died. He didn't know how he knew what death was, but it was a dreadful, frightening feeling of having just escaped those horrible icy claws. He was sure that something in this cave wanted to hurt him, and a brief idea was through his mind. Once he could feel his legs...

"Thanks," the fisher mewled weakly, lifting his head from his paws. A sharp pain wriggled out of his injured leg, but as he looked at it, he could see the cold had reduced the swelling. Cautiously, the young pup followed the lioness' example and delicately licked his wounded paw. "I-It was so cold," he chattered, still shivering. "The Blue Thing and now the Water.." Just his luck, huh? He wondered if the mushrooms would attack him next and made a pathetic whimper, putting his good paw over his muzzle. He was starting to warm up but now his heart was racing and he was beginning to feel the painful pulse beating hard through his injury.

A bit concerned that once he warmed up he would really feel the throbbing pain, he took a nervous breath and tried to slow his heart beat. It was a risk, but it was a safer one than the water and... Well, he had only passed out from trying it once. He was shakily confident that he could do it this time.

Post Roll Edit: It didn't work, but at least this time he didn't have the quite the worst possible, absolutely opposite effect of what he intended. Instead, his heart skipped a couple of beats and, although irregular for a few seconds, it soon returned to what it was before. He shuttered and sighed, realizing he was way too exhausted to do any good. His magic was thoroughly tapped out...

MAKYNA
"life is precious"

The poor fisher was beginning to get more life into him. It reassured her and made her feel better that he would be alright. She breathed a sigh of relief in between licks though she only stopped grooming him when the shivering started to subside. "I know, Fisher. I sorry for making you put paw in water. If I no make you, you no fall in." Her ears sagged while she looked down at the ground, guilty.

She looked up again when she heard him whimpering and wanting to do more than just lie next to him she began to pat his head with a paw. Being pet on the head was comforting to her so maybe he would like it to. Perhaps he would even forgive her for what she did. She hoped so... The feeling in the pit of her stomach burning away her happy mood was anything but good but she knew only he could help her out.

Quite by chance Makyna found the "good luck" rock she'd given to Fisher earlier. Silly rock... Perhaps it wasn't good luck after all. Hardly even meaning to she focused intently on it and felt a surge in her gem, not unlike when she had touched the stone and felt images from it. Her gem and eyes flashed for a moment but only briefly before settling down to their normal intensity.

Not knowing that she even had a new power she turned to Fisher and pointed at the stone.
"Want I to get rid of? Maybe not good stone, after all." It would make her sad if her gift was rejected after this but perhaps it was best if it would bring not good luck... Bad luck.

Maybe it was Makyna's fault, but she had been trying to help him. Fisher hated feeling like he had messed up, so someone else taking the blame was comforting in a strangely odd way. The fisher didn't like how she sulked away from him though, looking rather guilty and upset. He just didn't know what to say-- what did you say to someone who had let you fall into a river but then had saved your life? He felt quite mixed about the whole thing, but clearly the lioness was a good creature.

Carefully, Fisher tried to get up and found that it wasn't so hard. His limbs were stiff and sore from the cold, but he could feel them again. His pulse was still nervous and quick, and his paw throbbed and throbbed, but he was alive and... Maybe he was incinvincible! Haha, okay, probably not but Fisher liked to think that nothing could stop him if he had been attacked by Spires and Streams and survived both just fine. It suited him, the feeling of confidence, even if he exaggurated it for his own benefit.

His expression brightened as Makyna found that rock she had given him. It wasn't anything special, but he hobbled over as she offered to get rid of it. "No way!" He barked, a grin across his face. Maybe he was tired, maybe he was a bit shaken up, but seeing that rock... Well, it was the first thing anyone had given him. He wanted to keep it forever.

"Rock is good. Stream is bad," he decided, his tail wagging wild like an excited dog. It was a habit he had picked up from his dog friend Isaac and he enjoyed it quite a lot, especially when he thrashed his tail so hard it made the rest of his noodle body wiggle-- though he didn't do that now because he had to keep a careful balance on his three good legs.

"Makyna is good too. Saved me from the bad Water. Everything here tries to hurt me." He shook his head. "Ever since climbed the Blue Thing... It shocked me. I think I can shock it back, give back energy? Maybe that would make Here stop hurting me." The fisher's brows pressed down on his eyes as he thought, his expression going cloudy. There had to be some reason why the cave was so dangerous for him and, as far as he could tell, only him. With a bit of effort, he tried to show off his charging power. He had been able to do it as soon as he had fallen from the Spire, so it made sense to him.

post roll: Fisher's gem flickered with a faint spark that sent tingles through his fur, but sure enough the little mustelid managed to charge the rock with just a small static energy that wouldn't be much more than a jolt to the next creature to touch it. "Like that, see? Rock has energy. Touch, see?"

Life is precious.

Makyna was still feeling a little blue and down on herself. She expected Fisher to agree heartedly at her decision to get rid of the rock but she was surprised when he said no. "R-really?" She said with some shock in her voice. He wanted to keep it? Why, that warmed her heart a little and she started to feel a little less down. The ghost of a smile appeared on her face as she watched him retrieve the stone.

Rock, good? Stream, bad? Well... yes, she could agree to that. It was the stream which had almost gobbled him up, not the rock. At least not in a direct way the rock hadn't. If Fisher wanted to keep it though she wouldn't dissuade him. Maybe the rock just needed another chance.

Makyna noticed that Fisher's tail was moving strangely fast. It was amusing and she figured that it was some way to convey his happiness. To show that she was feeling a little bit better she sat up and wagged her own tufted tail in the same manner. It felt weird to do so though so she only did it for a few heartbeats before settling back to the lazy sway that was more comfortable.

Now she leaned forward and listened intently at Fisher's explanation. He wanted to shock the Spire back? How would he do that. Fortunately he gave a demonstration on how he planned to do it. A little paw reached forward as the lioness touched the stone. It gave her a smart shock that made her recoil her paw. "Yowch!" She said more from surprise than pain. Now the stone was a shock-stone rather than a good luck stone. Her brow furrowed as she pondered over Fisher's plan. She saw nothing wrong with it, if the spire had given him bad luck powers then maybe he could give them back... still, if it had hurt him the first time couldn't it do the same again? "Fisher have good plan... but," She peered at him closely, voicing her fears. "If Fisher try to give powers back couldn't Blue Thing get mad and hurt him again?" Still, what else could he do? Makyna had no other plans on stopping the bad mojo she just had concerns.

Fisher nodded furiously when Makyna asked Really? Of course really! The small noodle creature's fur puffed up as he wiggled around the rock, watching it intently. He had definitely powered it. After Makyna had touched it, his ears laid back in concern but she seemed fine. Just a little spark. Grinning at having done it, the dark-colored mammal scooped up his rock into his paws and stared at it quite happily.

Makyna had worries about the Fisher's plan, even though it was definitely the best plan ever and didn't have a single flaw okay yeah maybe giving the Spire more power to hurt him was a bad idea. "Maybe... But should try. Blue Thing tried to hurt me and I'm still here, so maybe it should learn who Boss is. I did climb it after all." He lifted his tail and head and puffed out his chest all proud like.

He was going to show that Spire who was boss, wasn't he? It made sense. Either the Blue Thing would understand he was sorry for scratching it, or it would have to deal with the fact that Fisher was clearly millions of times better than some dumb crystal. (Even if it was fun to climb.)

"And the sooner the better, right? Come on!" His eyes shone as he wagged his tail more and more. He wanted to do it now, sod how tired he was! So the little fisher picked up the rock in his mouth-- it was a bit big for his jaws but he didn't seem to mind-- and without any hesitation the critter started to pad his way over to the Spire. It was slow going with his rock, but that was alright. He had Makyna, didn't he? Nothing could mess with them.

Life is precious.

Teach the Blue Thing who was boss? But... what if the Blue Thing was the boss? Wouldn't it just shock him again and get angrier that it was challenged a second time? Fisher could come out even worse! The lioness shuffled her paws in the dirt, unsure if she should voice these concerns. After all, it was her fault that Fisher had fallen into the pond and no one else's. So maybe she didn't have the best ideas. "Okay... Fisher will show Blue Thing who boss is..." She agreed though her voice sounded anything but certain.

She nodded her head in assent, "Right!" The sooner this was done the better so she rushed off after her friend, hoping nothing bad would happen again.
