Element: Light
Stone: Selenite
Previous Litters: Attikias x Fisher x Nameless x Azizos x Lost Gem
Randomize Litter: No
Conception Threads: the darker the weather // the better the man
Child Name: V-Labradorite-One
Gender: Agender
Species: Hybrid (Alien x Alien x Alien x Dwarf Humpback Whale x Persian Leopard x Lammergeier)
Element: Light
Stone: Labradorite
Player: Up for grabs!
Appearance: Somewhat centaur-like in shape and stance, this hybrid is about two steps away from Vargas's dreams. It will grow to stand about five feet tall at the bottom shoulder and be around twenty-five feet long from its nose to the tip of its tail. Composed mainly of dense Oil-slime digestive byproduct, it clocks in at close to a metric ton in weight. It possesses four gangly limbs and a pair of flippers on its upper pectorals. Unless it's swimming, these flippers are mostly useless and are typically pressed against its incredibly slick, somewhat bristly hide.
Six gleaming red eyes line the sides of its curved head, as well as six nostrils and three pairs of gills behind the cheeks. Either work in conjunction to let the hybrid rule over land and sea (if only there was a way to account for the front-heaviness...) Black rosettes mark the majority of its hide, while socks and masks accent the head and webbed claws.
Its stone is external, showing as a jagged chunk of labradorite just above the upper collarbone.
Child Name: V-Zoisite-One
Gender: Agender
Species: Hybrid (Alien x Alien x Alien x Persian Leopard x Lammergeier)
Element: Light
Stone: Zoisite
Player: Up for grabs!
Appearance: Stout and insectoid (or crustacean-like?) this hybrid is… odd to look at. It will grow to be about fourteen feet long from end-to-end, and stand roughly three feet tall at its shoulders. It won't be terribly heavy, clocking in at about one hundred ninety pounds. It is hexapedal and covered in a rather vibrant-colored exoskeleton from head to toe. Each limb has four, rather bird-like digits. Chitinous plating covers the entire dorsal stripe, but isn't terribly restrictive as far as movement. A mixture of urticating hairs and quills cover the entire sensitive underside.
A false head lies at the end of a thick, very prehensile tail, armed with four glossy eye-spots and sharp pincers that can shear through Lessers with ease. Its actual head appears to be upside-down, possessing six tiny eyes on the bottom jaw while the top seems to split into a set of pincers.
Its stone is external, manifesting as two zoisite points beneath the pincers of its false head.
Child Name: V-Selenite-One
Gender: Agender
Species: Hybrid (Alien x Alien x Svartálfr x Persian Leopard x Lammergeier)
Element: Light
Stone: Selenite
Player: Me! >:3
Appearance: Humanoid in shape and generally bipedal, this hybrid will grow to stand about seven feet tall and weigh around two hundred eighty pounds at its healthiest. Its head-to-toe chitin is predominantly a steely blue color with silvery undersides, quilly mane, and Blaschko stripes. Its four arms, tail, and face all possess siamese-esque points and retractable claws tip them. Four eyes have black scleras and luminescent cyan irises and pupils — the cyan color gets duplicated on the inside of pointy ears and the tips of its mane of quills.
Unlike its life-giver, this hybrid is flexible and dextrous: it can climb around with ease; manipulate objects skillfully; and drop onto all six limbs for slower, stealthier movements. Sharp teeth line its jaws, but they can't open wide enough to do any meaningful gripping.
Its stone is external, appearing just above the base of its tail.

V-Labradorite-One and V-Zoisite-One will both be up for adoption! Much like Vargas's litter, they'll have a few things to keep in mind...
- These characters will be ICly named by Alpha or Vargas and be given the designations listed above, but you can come up with names for them to use in private or earn through training!
- Quoting and lightly edited from Dark's application for Vargas's bunch:
The creatures will be, IC, by Vargas, [Alpha,] and the Sentinels of the Sands, considered essentially experimental creations intended to serve in a militant fashion. This means they'd be raised as soldiers, trained and expected to obey and enforce obedience, [...] and as rough as all this sounds it's pretty standard vaguely-military RP. However, they can of course attempt to flee and avoid the SoS/Alpha/Vargas IC, though this may wind up (depending on how it's done) with disastrous IC consequences--I'm perfectly happy to roleplay whatever, as long as you are!
- All that being said, no murder-monkeys/hobos/et cetera. The Sentinels, Vargas, and Alpha aren't murderous by any means. Alpha considers random killing to be just kind of a waste.
- Due to the events of GIVE ME RABIES (cw: abuse and breakdown, human experimentation mentions) and anything that follows that plot arc, I'm honestly not sure how these characters will be treated by Alpha - please be prepared in advance for awful treatment and the possibility of abusive language, violence, etc. If you'll be uncomfortable with writing this out, I'm willing to work with you on it, but I'm avoiding really controlling how Alpha acts post-Rabies. Better to be safe than sorry, and to not accidentally trap yourself in something that'll harm your mental health. Stay safe and take care of yourselves, friends <3
In any case, I'm looking for active and creative players to apply for these kiddos! I'm so excited to see the applications after all the hype. Here's your application form...
Code:
Alias: This is you!
Creature: Labradorite or Zoisite - you can apply for both! You just won't get both.
Personality Summary: I'm not expecting big paragraphs or anything, so just give me the gist! Quality over quantity, babey...
RP Sample: Lemme see how you'll play this character! :eyes:
Plans / Plot Hooks: Just... any ideas? Try not to plan too far ahead, but point out some cool potential that you can see! This field's actually optional but maybe you can brainstorm here or something idk ahsdfaksdfkcngh
I'll probably be picking players around July 26th! This is to give the players about a week to confirm that they still want the character and work on getting profiles prewritten for the birth date! >:O

Creature: Labradorite
Personality Summary: as expected, they are a total sucker for the rules. whether the rules themselves makes them happy or not, enforcing rules and following them is like snorting pixie stix. they are obsessed with being punctual and absolutely hate doing things late, even if its only slightly off-schedule, and sudden schedule shifts never fail to fluster them to no end. they take things way too literal, its impossible to make puns with this nerd, HOWEVER, this leads to them actually making a fair amount of what could be considered dad jokes. however, along with this, they are in no way uncaring. they do have a sense of right and wrong, though quite obviously a little off from what another gembound may consider such. they wouldn't hurt for no reason, though they do come off as grumpy if anything else. as a child they are rather similar, monotone and rarely falling away from the path thats laid out for them, though are fairly.. obnoxious when they have nothing to do, starved for a task. they may seem boring and impossible to actually work with sometimes, but in both child and adult stages, its not impossible to get it to slip a smile if you try hard enough.
RP Sample: slight gore warning towards the end! : go fishing, it said. gather food, it said, it'll be FINE, it said. of course, it wasn't fine. this was pretty obvious by the fact it was being repeatedly rammed into a wall by a pissed, frenzied redfang, and, to top it off, it was running out of oxygen.
in a moment of pure frustration, the next time the redfang reared up to smash into them again, they threw out their legs, claws flexed to the max, and kicked the poor fish in the face, allowing it enough time to pathetically rocket its head out of the water for oxygen, before being dragged in again by their tail. they let out the loudest, most rage-filled roar they could and that momentarily startled the fish enough to tackle it from under the water, sinking its teeth into the small slit beneath their head, the fish thrashing dangerously, biting at its tail and legs as it kicked at it.
finally, it thrashed them off of itself, but, teeth still sunk into its neck, its weight allowed it to still rip the poor fishes head open, exposing the gills. it scrambled, shamefully, out of the water, gasping for air and nearly falling over like the dead fish it was carrying, dragging its prize with them. it saw a few more redfang gather just as it crawled out, growling, dropping its catch onto the floor to SCREAM in frustration. it huffed, and froze.
fuck.
it was late, of course. dammit, what on earth would he tell the overseer? it groaned in annoyance, dragging its prey back home. they'd tend to their wounds later, and any they earn after arriving.
Plans / Plot Hooks: i dont plan for many big things to happen with this character unless needed, if anything, they will be exactly how i wrote them. a stickler for the rules and mostly closed off, aside from the rare friend or pleasant interaction with a sibling or whatever. however i do plan for some internal conflict with them regarding their own morality as they meet new gembound, struggling with what they were taught was right and wrong from birth, and what the rest of the caves deem such. they may even grow unhappy over time with the position of doing so and struggle to do their job without having an internal battle ever time. i do plan for them to be empathetic to an extent, but not very, not due to their own doing but because of their taught environment, which might increase as they delve further into that whole internal conflict thing.

Creature: ZOISITE
Personality Summary: Zoisite is a predator. Patient, stealthy, and observant, they make an excellent spy and enjoy the act of hunting their prey, although they aren't a monster -- Zoisite prefers to make clean kills, even when acting as their Overseer's enforcer. Truly, a creature after Vargas's own heart... Also, stubborn. Zoisite will probably discover their affection for feminine pronouns early in life, and refer to themselves as such regardless of the consequences (hence, I'll be referring to Zoisite as a 'she' from hereon out). She has a sense of fairness, and certainly will not allow herself to be treated cruelly without a very sound justification. Zoisite also has some level of a sense of humor, and enjoys frightening her fellows or making jokes when the time comes to relax. Still, she isn't much of a social animal, and prefers to stay somewhere elevated, keeping an eye on the comings and goings. Survival of the fittest and all, but it would just be cruel to let her compatriots get snapped up by monsters if she's capable of resting and also being their eye in the sky.
RP Sample: Overseer was testing them. Not just its own spawn, but all the rabble. It was almost like playing a game, if a game usually involved the death of a Cave Deer. Overseer had captured one and cut a gash into its side. Not enough to make it bleed to death, but enough to mark it, to fill the air with its scent. Whoever brought the beast to Overseer first was the winner.
One of the Chaos stones was hot on its trail. The big one. Noisy, both to the ears and the eyes. Madly flashing colors through the undergrowth, the cracking of branches and shuffling of leaves as it tracked its prey. You see, Zoisite had gotten an idea. Everyone was going to be going after the Cave Deer, but when one of her compatriots had an excellent sense of smell and was more obvious than a raging Golem, it made far more sense to follow it. She was taking advantage, of course, of its noisiness. While she was not one to insult Master Vargas, it was ridiculous indeed what he had created. She was following from several yards away in the undergrowth, low to the ground and slinking along as quickly as she dared with the leaves to guard her.
The heads snapped up, and Zoisite followed as it suddenly grew more excited. Soon, she could smell the deer, too. Fearful. Bloody. Weak. Zoisite skittered ahead of the Chaos stone, carving a wide berth around the deer and lowering herself into the underbrush as the deer's head snapped towards the much more obvious predator. It lunged towards the sluggishly bleeding prey and missed by a mile. Cave Deer were agile, with quick senses and a mind towards survival. The animal ran madly in the opposite direction of the Chaos stone -- and right into Zoisite, who lunged like lightning, breaking its neck in the mandibles of the false head and dragging it into the undergrowth before the Chaos Stone had time to recover.
Zoisite clutched the deer in her back mandibles in a death grip (to get it away from her, someone would have had to tear the thing in two) and took to the wall, climbing it as high as she dared and moving as quickly as she could. The Chaos Stone let out a roar of frustration, but Zoisite moved fast when she wasn't trying to be stealthy. Six legs did that to a creature. Soon, she dropped from the wall not far from Alpha and drew closer, curling her body in a semi-circle as she let the Cave Deer go. All of her eyes blinked in unison as she clicked lowly and quietly, eyes on the Overseer. Finally, she spoke the best words she'd ever heard uttered -- "I win."
Plans / Plot Hooks: If Alpha is abusive to Zoisite without any real justification, she will start to disobey. In her mind, this whole situation is a mutually beneficial contract -- she will do as she is told, but she isn't just a tool. She has feelings, too. Depending on the actions taken and severity of those actions, she might go above Alpha's head to Vargas to report its behavior, fight back against Alpha (whether directly or more subtly), or even leave the Sentinels altogether. If she ends up leaving, I could definitely see her selling out Dhracia's plans to other gembound if Alpha made her angry enough.
I think Zoisite is capable of climbing walls in a pinch, but is definitely too heavy to stay on without rolling for it and certainly can't cling to ceilings -- hence why I think a mutation slot where she's able to stick to walls would be very interesting! I also like the idea of her being able to produce some kind of sticky webbing like I proposed in my Eythan kid audition.
I also think that it would be cool if she made clicking sounds (like Clickers from TLOU2). When frustrated or bored, I imagine she'd start making this rhythmic clicking sound with her mandibles or perhaps her armor plates, but when angry or injured I could see her doing the screamy thing too.
I also wouldn't be above looking into corruption if the Sentinels condoned it :eyes:

This is all unnecessarily long but I'm not sorry in the slightest.
Alias: SilverWinter
Creature: Zoisite
Personality Summary
How proper for an insectoid creature such as this one have a personality akin to the cycle of a butterfly. The development of its mind will be steered and guided by the world and people around it, but its nature is unchangeable. At the start, it is a caterpillar - simple, straightforward, young in thoughts and body, and raised within the Sentinels to be a tool and a weapon for the Masters and the Overseers. For a while, this will be enough. This will be all this creature is and it will be content with who it is. It will have little to no thought in its first days, and then filled with the Sentinel's ideals until it truly believes, to its core, that there is truly nothing more then this life of training and fighting and doing exactly what the Master and Overseer tells it to do. If there is anything else, then it is beneath it, far away, and useless. It will see itself as nothing but an object for those above it to use, not a living, breathing creature with potential for more, for so much more then mindless servitude.
But it won't take long for this to change. As it grows and begins to learn, it, a curious, intelligent child, will begin questioning things - why must I do this, why do I fight that, why do things have to be this way? And those questions, that confusion, will be its chrysalis. The stepping stones to the full creature beyond. It will sit on this questioning and no longer be content with itself. It will always come to this. Because its growth starts with a simple creature, intelligence barely reaching the cut of a Greater Gembound, but as it expands and begins to learn and evolve, it cannot help but ask: why? A creature of little thought becoming a creature of many - with thoughts and questions that are looked down upon in the Sentinels, questions unfit for a simple tool or a weapon. And that's where the chrysalis breaks and the butterfly emerges.
And this butterfly is not one of serene beauty or kindness, but one of hatred and anger. A ferocity unequaled. Not outward or intentional malevolence, not a seeker of destruction and chaos, but a brooding beast, ready to snap and strike at any moment. It will see itself, now, for what it is; not a tool or a weapon, but a creature with a life, not to be used by anyone else but itself. It's temper is blazing hot - so easy to make angry and furious and so easy to pull into fights and arguments. It has strong opinions and it won't let its voice go unheard, nor will it allow anyone to walk over it or wound it and go unpunished. An eye for an eye, as they say. It may, of course, still take to the Sentinels ideas and focus this wrath towards any enemies that Master Vargas commands it take down, giving into the militaristic brainwashing and see little to nothing wrong with its ideals...but it could just as easily swing the other way, its revulsion for the way of life, oppressing its opinions and feelings, and the world they wish to bring back causing it to separate from the group and, ultimately, seek to bring down their destruction. Or perhaps it will simply become reclusive, drawing out into the shadows to seethe in its anger until the world meets its end.
But, any way it goes, it will be violent, oh, yes, with a thirst for adrenaline and battle. Perhaps not necessarily to shed blood or kill, as it has a certain respect for life, whether weak or strong, but to achieve victory, the satisfaction of domination, and the display of unbridled skill. It has, however, little to no concept of honor, resorting to dirty or cheap tactics to get its way to victory because, to Zoisite, that is all that matters. The philosophy of the Sentinels, no matter which way it swings, will stick to it, no matter what - survival of the fittest. And the fittest isn't the one that plays with clean claws, but uses every skill at its disposal. Social opinion doesn't matter in a fight. It is also arrogant, with a firm belief that it is utterly unbeatable. It's stands close to pride, as it holds itself to high expectations, but the taste of defeat is so foreign on its tongue that the smallest sip will be more repulsive then all the rot in the caves combined. It is a horribly sore loser, with a tendency to throw temper tantrums if it feels its been bested, that deep seated anger so quick to rise up and consume it. No battle is truly over until Zoisite emerges victorious.
The trickiest thing about its hot-tempered personality is its ability to form relationships with others. It doesn't make friends, per say, but its not impossible that Zoisite will make allies and have a certain respect for certain creatures that manage to weave through the sticky web of their temper and hardiness. This respect is earned, not given, even to the ones that it hatches with and grows up with. Whatever soft side exists within Zoisite, it's near-impossible to pull out by force, even from its own family members, if they could even be called family in the first place. But for the lucky few that manage to gain its respect, then Zoisite is, oddly enough, quite loyal. It's soft side isn't really "soft" by standard means, but at least softer then its brazen hatred and fury that usually harden its heart. It might speak more cordially with its allies, listen more and take advice, or even take requests or commands, especially those that are cries for help. For anyone that can get on this good side, their anger turns, ironically enough, into a weapon that can be molded and fired at will - as long as you do nothing to tarnish that respect. It's not a permanent arrangement - if Zoisite deems you no longer worthy, then it will turn and leave, no questions asked.
All in all, Zoisite is a creature of anger and brutality, of victory without mercy, and fears nothing, only death. It fights to live and it fights to win, but it doesn't destroy needlessly, as it respects life to its very core - just to live and push forward through the mud and murk of life is something to, at the very least, be admired.
RP Sample
The day had been unbearably long and the Zoisite, always so close to bursting, had somehow managed to hold down its frustration with patrol duty all day. This was boring and lame - it wanted a taste of fire, the rush of battle, the smell of blood and fear and anger as it wove between its enemies, snapping and scratching right and left. It would rather do anything else, even run the length of Hydra, then be walking up and down this tunnel for a single second more. It ground its teeth, almost feeling ready to jump right out of its exoskeleton, the mandibles on its tail clicking impatiently. Time was going slow and there was nobody here! What was the point of leaving their strongest asset home while they all went off training?!
Master Vargas had told it that it had been too rough during training the day before, that trying to kill the new initiate was no way to get the whelps up to speed, but Zoisite couldn't agree less. What the hell was the point of training if they weren't going to push themselves to the limit of their abilities? Why did it have to train with the newest trainees and not the Overseer or even Ruby-Beta? Surely they wouldn't hold back, even in training? It was frustrating - it just wanted to fight the Master's enemies! It just wanted to crush all of those that dared to even think of rebellion. But here it was, stuck patrolling.
So immersed in seething thoughts that it almost missed the faint pattering of steps. It froze in its place, half-hidden against the wall of the tunnel, as something came close. A little creature, some sort of hybrid, was sneaking in. It saw it bouncing from one rock to the other, glancing out before going to its next hiding spot. The Zoisite inwardly smiled and went utterly silent. Perhaps it would use its favorite trick to trap this little mouse.
It stood and began to step out of the shadows backwards, with the false head on its tail leading the rest of the body out into the tunnel. From beneath its body, it saw the hybrid freeze in its spot, wide eyes staring at it as it crept down the tunnel. Zoisite ignored it, however, patrolling some ways down the tunnel before turning its tail and moving back. Once it had walked fully past the hybrid, it, believing that the Zoisite was facing the opposite direction, carefully moved out of its hiding spot to get to a new one.
The trap snapped shut. The Zoisite immediately lunged forward, real jaws opening wide and it barreled forward and grabbed the hybrid with its teeth, front mandibles closing tightly shut on its body for extra strength. It screeched with surprise but it couldn't do anything before it was completely trapped.
Oh, how it loved to do that! The bulging eyes as its prey realized their mistake, the screaming, the shock in their face when their victory was snatched away...oh that would never get old! It snickered as it readjusted itself, holding the hybrid down with its front claws again before releasing it from the grip of its jaws. "You're trespassing here, stranger," It chittered, raising its jaws up so it could get a proper look at the creature, who's eyes widened with horror at the sight of the eyes on the bottom of its jaws. "No one is to enter this tunnel! How did you get past the sentries?!"
The hybrid struggled for a moment before realizing how futile it was. It's eyes narrowed and it spat, "You don't know what you're doing! The Sentinels have to be taken down - don't you realize how wrong all of this is?! They're just treating you like a slave!"
Anger flared up in the Zoisite so quickly it was incredible - like gasoline had just drenched its inner flame, erupting in an inferno that consumed the insectoid creature. Its chittering increased in volume until it was almost an angry buzz as its mandibles clacked together threateningly. "I should rip your heart from your chest just for opening your mouth! You have no voice here, no opinion, NOTHING! You are a stranger and an outsider and you will be punished for trying to sneak in here! Oh, I hope the Overseer lets me punish you! I'll have such a good time!" It clicked threateningly as its hold grew tighter on the hybrid.
The creature began to struggle again, biting down on the Zoisite's claws weakly with its teeth, but then gasped as it was rewarded with a sharp jab from its mandibles. "Stop struggling! We'll wait for the Overseer to return and decide what to do with you!" It only struggled for a minute more before going still, panting with exhaustion, its face twisted in fear. But the Zoisite didn't care - it was weak and stupid and if it had gotten itself into this situation, then it deserved its punishment. Still, it wouldn't dare to do anything else without the Overseer's permission. So, sucking up its impatience to get this over with, the Zoisite settled down to seethe silently while the creature panted under its claws.
It wasn't a slave - it was here because it wanted to be! The hybrid was wrong, it was just an intruder, a fool with no knowledge or ideals - not the proper ones anyways. They didn't understand what the world was about. Survival was the only thing that mattered. Order and stability. And if those things meant that Zoisite was a slave? Then it didn't care. As long as they let it fight - and win - it didn't care what the common rabble thought of it.
Plans / Plot Hooks: So, as I said in its personality essay, it could just as easily stay with the Sentintels as leave them. If it stayed, it would definitely be more then happy to play the soldier and the weapon, the first to run into battle to take down its enemies and basically aligning its thoughts to Vargas and possibly Alpha - whatever they dislike, so will Zoisite. Whoever they think of as enemies, so will it. It will be a little rebellious, probably asking questions and demanding answers all the time or starting arguments with them left and right, but it'll be wholly loyal.
On the other hand, if things go a different way and it ends up leaving the Sentinels, then there's definitely a possible future of starting a straight up rebellion, maybe finding others and training them to fight back so that they won't be slaughtered like animals, and just telling everyone that the Masters Suck Ass and they should stop taking their shit sitting down.
Third path, though least likely, is, if leaving the Sentinels, they'll just go off and be a grumpy recluse that snaps at anyone that gets close but that sounds boring lmao I'd rather do one of the first two.

Creature: Zoisite
Personality Summary: One could say that Zoisite sees the world from a different perspective. (Get it, cause its upside down?)
Zoisite is born with a heart of gold that shines through and through. It does not wear its love on its sleeve, though; it has a bristly exterior that forces it to keep its distance, and with its stoic parent and emotionally-detracted family, it will struggle with expressing itself, especially at first. However, it will be born wanting to love and be loved, and even as it likely won't receive love in return, it will never lose itself and will fight for the affection and compassion that it knows its family (and maybe it, too) deserves. It may neglect its own needs to try and fix its abusers to no avail.
It will be confused, at first. Quickly, it will learn to protect its inner core from the outside world. Like Alpha, it will be stoic and difficult to read, and learn not to ask questions, and it might never learn how to be a good conversationalist. It will not like physical contact, and recoil or lash out at those who get too close out of fear of hurting them. If it is pushed into a corner, it could easily kill, but it will never actively seek out violence. Despite this, it will be extremely affectionate, and often go out of its way to show others that they matter to Zoisite. Whether that means bringing food home, or asking if they need anything, or simply listening.
However, despite being relatively "people pleasing", it will subconsciously fight against the typical norms of loyalty in the Sentinels. It won't blindly follow orders, or go out of its way to impress its peers. It will want to spend time neglecting its duties in favor of cheering up one of its fellow Sentinels, or worse, spending time getting to know other gembound in the caves.
That isn't to say that it isn't loyal; but it will quietly push against the toxic notions that surround its family and try to better them. It likely will not succeed. It will likely get hurt. But it will never forget its heart, and instead fight all the harder to keep its ideals alive. By the end of a few short cycles, it might end up a conflicting mess, but it all depends on how its interactions go with its fellow Sentinels and any outsiders.
RP Sample:
The cavern was quieter than usual. Zoisite preferred the silence; it let her- them- it think and daydream. Despite the Master's insistence that it and its siblings would be powerful soldiers for the Sentinels-- "designs", Vargas had called them-- she- it struggled to see the point of learning how to fight.
The moment the larva had come spilling free from its chrysalis, mandibles clicking as it twisted upright, slick fur hiding sharp thorns, it had known its family as a collection of interesting indiviudals. They were massive tanks, and small, fast scouts, all different and unique and... Well, Zoisite wasn't sure why anyone would want to mess with the Sentinels in the first place.
She stretched out her legs, splooting on the floor and shuffling until her quills weren't poking at uncomfortable angles. She struggled to see when she was right side up, even with her maws closed she had to crane her neck to see higher.
Okay, the young blood-violet babe thought, maybe mom-- I mean, Alpha, still getting used to not calling its mom- Overseer by the proper title, and even in its thoughts, it didn't bother with the whole thing. It was silly that everyone called her- V-Zoisite-One all the time, too. It took too much time. Maybe Alpha will let me hang out with the Doctor and the outsiders (a polite word for the experiments) if I at least try to make it look like I'm trying to learn how to fight.
It didn't like fighting, though. It made it itch, and nervous, false head snapping and grinding pincers. Maybe I can practice my ambushing...? That could be fun, at least. With a grunt, the larva twisted and pulled in its legs so it could push itself to its feet. It craned its head back as far as it could to peer at the nearby wall and the crevaces it could use as hand holds. At least while it was still growing, it had a chance of climbing up such a surface.
A hot yellow tongue poked slightly out between incisors, and it reached up to grasp at the wall, hunting for hand holds. It slinked up the wall, progress slow and patient as it eased itself up higher, and higher. Its body swayed, false head bracing against the stone as it craned its head and looked for the next spot.
If it could get to the ceiling, and wait... Maybe it could surprise its-... Its... Surprise Alpha. Then, maybe it could get a reward. The thought didn't sit right in its mind, but bored and restless, without its kin to keep it company, it at least entertained the thought.
Plans / Plot Hooks: I covered a fair bit in the personality section but!
Zoisite will liiiiikely focus on Light Magic and Other Techniques, pushing toward Transcending into Lightbearer or Leader (though it likely won't transcend, just an example of the skill trees it will go down). It will eventually develop pronouns and a name, and may have a penchant for using nicknames in spite of how "disrespectful" its family considers them. Depending on its family's reaction, it may try to keep its pronouns and name secret.
Given the chance, Zoisite will attempt to befriend the experiments, (One, Beatris, Two) as well as the Doctor. It will try to provide them company and a safe confidante, though it may struggle to get that far.
As of right now, I cannot imagine Zoisite permanently leaving SoS. It will be deeply entrenched in the only home it knows; if it were to try to leave, it would find itself aimless and even more lost. Considering it will form strong bonds with its family (even though they might end up one sided) it will have a hard time turning its back on them, even if it is treated poorly.
I'm hoping that Zoisite helps give more multi-dimensionality to other Sentinels by breaking free of the stereotypes a little bit and give some more complicated situations to explore! also i really just wanted something completely different from delta to mix things up and actually like. have a character that gives a damn about any of the other sentinels (delta why are you such a little bitch--)

Creature: Labradorite!!! Goopy puppy uwu
Personality Summary: *rubs handsies together*
Labradorite, even right out of the chrysalis, is kind of... distractable. They want to do something fun! Like chase butterflies, run a Trial, or even tackle their siblings just for fun. They're a bit like an attack dog. Once you direct them towards a goal, they'll see it done and come back for a reward of some kind (whether it be a head rub or a grumbled, 'you did good'.)
Over time and as they mature, I suspect they'll become more serious and loose their playful personality and gain a composure more suitable for being a soldier. Though occasionally they'll still go for a swim. They also use their head fins to emote! At around two cycles they'll start to lose their happy-go-lucky demeanor for their more serious one, and strive to be the best of the best. Their siblings could stop being their siblings and start being challengers who they'll strive to be better than.
They also don't really speak much. Instead of words they tend to grunt, nod, or speak in short, clipped sentences. They aren't one for casual conversation, and much prefer to act first and ask questions later.
And yeah, Alpha treating them like shit will probably make them feel awful.
RP Sample: (I'm just gonna say this takes place later, when they've grown up.)
Labradorite dug its claws into the ground in frustration as they watched the target fly overhead. It hadn't known that the damn thing could fly. But it didn't matter, it had to come back down eventually.
It took a cycle of tracking for them to find it again, and the target was exhausted, taking giant gulps of water from a pool. Labradorite grumbled and slid into the water, its slick body moving like a snake, it's fins pushing the water back and propelling it forward. It held its breath and approached from beneath the water, baring its teeth in preparation as it got ready to snap.
It's jaws closed down on the creature's head and dragged it into the water, pulling it deeper and deeper, unflinching as it thrashed and screeched, magic flashing and failing in its panic. Labradortite snapped their jaws down and broke its neck, and the Gembound sagged, life leeching from the wounds in its neck. Labradorite dragged them back to the shore and ripped their gem from their body, leaving the carcass to ooze into black goo (but had the courtesy to dig a hole for it, because otherwise the pool would have been tainted). Alpha would be pleased that this had gone so well... hopefully.
It was relieved that the stupid lizard thing was a lesser. It could feel less guilty about the brutality of their kill. If it was a Gembound like itself, then it would be freaking out a bit. But as it was, it had succeeded and had a gem to bring back as proof of its kill. It would bury it somewhere later. Now all they had to do was get home.
Plans / Plot Hooks: If they succeed in being a good soldier, I suspect that Labradorite will end up being more of an assassin than anything, with its dark colors and serious nature. They don't kill for fun but they're good at carrying out tasks efficiently. They don't kill for fun or even in defense, something inside of them reminds them of the first cycle of their life when their eyes weren't even open and all they knew was the warmth of their siblings. But if directed to do so, they don't waste their time and draw it out unless they have to. They much prefer the easier kinds of missions anyway, like hunting, fetching people from across the caves, etc.

Creature: Both!
Personality Summary:
Both will very strongly look up to Vargas and Alpha, though for slightly differing reasons. Eager to please, and obedient for the most part- decent soldiers, if not a little too attached to their family.
Labradorite: They very strongly value their family! They'll grow close to their siblings (depending on how their sibs end up) and will ATTEMPT to bond with alpha and possibly Vargas? They'll start out 'soft' and not really able to control their feelings well, but they'll probably 'grow out of it' (emotionally repress themself)
Zoisite: Very protective of their siblings! They may not agree with Alpha or Vargas all the time, but they don't see the point in voicing that and potentially getting punished, and they'll try to get their siblings to do the same. They're definitely a 'tough love' kind of person, considering their parent. They'll try their best to impress Vargas and Alpha, if not to make them proud, then for the status and freedoms associated with it.
RP Sample:
Labradorite:
(Warning, slight gore + animal death)
Emerging from the water, slick and dripping with a mix of water and oily black goo, they lashed out at the closest cave deer they could spot. Latching on tightly to the deer's leg with their jaws, they shook it furiously, their furiously lashing tail slamming into another fleeing, terrified cave deer, knocking it to the ground. Done with the first deer, they turn on the one they had knocked down, now struggling to get up. They slammed down a claw on it's neck, tearing a sizable gash into it. They held a claw on it's chest, until the thing finally grew still. The rest of the cave deer scattered, and far too fast to chase.
They looked up at Overser Alpha, who had been observing them this whole time. They grinned proudly, "Da-" wait nononopenopenope "Overseer!" better "How did I do?" their tail wagged much like an excited puppy, sending bits of oily goop flying in all directions. Normally they would be nervous, but they were very proud of themself. They had killed two cave deer! At once! Dad- The overseer would like that, right?
Zoisite:
Exhausted, and somewhat bruised, Zoisite stood, panting, watching their sibling do the same. They hadn't gone soft on their sibling, but they had- at first, atleast. It frustrated them! Zoisite just wanted them to be their strongest, and they didn't even try their best during training! They could only do so much.
Maybe they could train some more, later. Zoisite wasn't sure if their sibling would agree, but if they knew what was best they would.
Zoisite turned their attention back to the Overseer, sitting patiently as they listened to it talk. They nodded whenever it was appropriate, but stayed quiet for the most part- which was key. You had to respect your superiors, even if they didn't respected
Plans / Plot Hooks:
Both would probably stay with the sentinels, but they may leave if their siblings leave or if Alpha/vargas does something REALLY BAD to themself or one if their sibs.
I wanna mutate Zoisite gecko feet or something so they can climb on walls! I just think it'll be neat.
Labradorite would be a mostly ambush predator while Zoisite is agile and fast enough to be a decent chaser. Both will probably go down the brawler tree, but I can see either learning some spells in order to help with hunting and fighting.

After a lot of consideration, I've decided to give Labradorite to Snail, and Zoisite to Shafaer! Both of these kids' apps seem like they're a change of pace from the standard Sentinels bastard fare, and I'm super excited to see how they interact with the others!
Don't forget - they will emerge on August 2nd! Get those profiles up! :elmo:
