Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

Hope is but a waking dream
The day had barely begun for the three. The young lion in the lead as they walked along the street. His large paws fell quietly on the stone pathway, though now it was broken and parts of it were missing entirely and restored to the plain dirt underneath. However his paws kept him silent as he moved. However there was no need to be sneaky so he wasn’t trying to hide his paw falls as he walked. He was out with James and Sun and he couldn’t be happier. Around his neck hung his large trusty rabbit skin bag that Aunty had made him.
Brilliant baby blue eyes looked around as he ducked into one of the many buildings that were falling apart and crumbling. His curiosity drove him to wander about the building. It was large and still in rather good shape for one of the many places in Orion. It was made of large stones stacked on top of each other. It’s up floor hadn’t collapsed though it sagged dangerously. Though this did not bother Aristotle as he curiously explored the main room.
It’s walls were a faded shade of what could have once been considered red. However the main room seemed to be empty and the side rooms were blocked by debris making it impossible to get into them. So once more Aristotle trotted out of the house and back James. This is fun. Sun are you having? Aristotle asked the little Gibbon sitting on the large horses back.
James walked along the main road, hooves clip-clopping away as he walked, head bobbing up and down. He watched as Ari entered the house, ears pinning in slight worry. They perked up when Ari went out again.
"It is fun," he confirmed, his own bag around his neck, his woven out of vines and lined with leaves.
He turned to check on Sun before walking forward, more used to the feeling of something on his back now, and he no longer had the urge to buck it off, either. He was content to trot along after Ari, tail waving behind him happily. He yawned a bit, not tired but still waking up, and picked up his feet to gently step over a line of rubble.
Aristotle for some reason felt soothed by the sound of James’ hooves as they met the ground with the clip clop sounds they made. It was a familiar sound, something that told him he wasn’t alone and that he never would be alone because James was at his side. A soft content smile fell into place on the lion’s muzzle. He was happy to have James with him and Sun too. As the lion walked there was a bit of an excited hop to his step.
What do you think we’ll find? Aristotle asked James curious. His brilliant baby blue eyes glimmered with excitement. A bright smile replaced the content one, after being in the house he was even more driven to look for things from the past. He was hunting for treasure and his best friend and adopted son were with him. What could make this day better.
Curiously Aristotle ducked into another structure for a look around.
Sun sat up tall on long faced daddy’s back. He had learned that if he sat up straight he didn’t bounce up and down as much or as hard. He was small so of course he wouldn’t hurt James that much but in the beginning it had made Sun queasy and sore after riding him.
A broad grin spread over the little monkey’s face as he rode atop James. He was enjoying being out with both daddys and fluffy daddy was excited over something and that made him excited so he let out little hoots and coos of wonder and enjoyment as they moved through the streets, he watched as fluffy daddy ducked into a strange structure every now and again.
Here and there was an inhabited home: strung with Baubled lights, perhaps, and often with someone inside.
The stone, as a whole, was recently-charred, and some was melted.
However, in one particular building, there were items of stone that, as a result of their material and the protection of a roof still-intact overhead, had weathered the ages. These were strange items, shaped for unknown dwellers: 'furniture' might be a name, if they would know it. A thing like a bench, or a chair; another like an old, stone table, carefully carved in sweeping lines.
Difficult to move--very, very heavy--but interesting, perhaps, to see.
James shrugged, "No idea. I haven't explored the ruins, much, aside from gathering grasses."
He was careful to walk smoothly, always ready to catch or scoot in any direction should he feel Sun begin to fall. He was easier to right than Ari, though, since his back stayed relatively stationary as they moved. When he walked and jogged was the best gait, though speeding up was something he'd have to help Sun get used to.
As the lion explored the area, wandering into one of the better preserved dwellings in Orion. It wasn’t large like his, but it was homey. In the main room he found a strange thing that was long and flat, with short stout legs. Aristotle leaned down inspecting the thing. It was strange and long. Opening his jaws Aristotle chewed on the corner of it as he tested the object for what it might have been made of. Doing so he found it to be made of wood. Standing up the lion licked his lips as his gaze wandered the room flailing on a large round object that stood on a central pedestal, the top was thick and flat. The lion walked closer to it he gave it a curious sniff and licked the top surface in an attempt to find out what the thing was made of. His sensitive tongue scraped along the smooth solid surface, the earthy taste telling him it was made of stone.
Standing there the lion looked at the stone thing. He couldn’t help but wonder who or what had made it and the long wooden thing. What kind of creature save for an ape like Aunty or Sun who had hands. But what was strong enough to move such a large piece of stone. The lion came up along stride the table with his side. Curiously the lion gave the stone thing a shove to see if he could even budge the object, and found that he couldn’t even move the thing at all. Giving the thing one last curious glance the lion wandered back out of the house and back to James.
I haven’t explored much myself, I know more about Eridanus than I do Orion. The hunting in Eridanus is better by far. But Orion has its own interests and wonders. Aristotle commented his own thoughts about Orion. He hadn’t honestly explored much, he had stuck close to home or went back to Eridanus. James. Do you think there were creatures that lived in this place before us? There were these things in that den that couldn’t have been made a Gembound. One was made of wood and was low but had legs and was flat. The other one was tall with a central pedestal and flat on top and made out of stone. They couldn’t have been made by anything like you or I. Aristotle spoke telling James what he had found in the house he had just left.
The young Gibbon sat perched proudly on long face daddy’s back. Emerald eyes watched this way and that as they went passed dwellings that were inhabited by other Gembound. Many of the dwellings had other gembound living them and had baubles lights strung hanging in them. There was the sounds of life and vibrance coming from inside them. However a few of them were uninhabited and those The little gibbon watched fluffy daddy duck in and out of now and then. At this the little gibbon sat up as straight as he could and leaned over as far as he dared to watch and wait to see if fluffy daddy brought anything out.
They stopped for awhile as fluffy daddy ducked into one house and stayed for several minutes. At this the little gibbon got a bit excited as he thought fluffy daddy might have found something interesting to bring out to them. However this excitement was soon quelled as fluffy daddy returned empty pawed. Though they had yet to find anything Sun was actually having quite a bit of fun just being out and enjoying time with both daddys.
James poked his head into the building, eyebrows raising, "Oh? Maybe! I'm certain other Gembound inhabit these buildings, but because they're so in ruin, there may have been a time before us that individuals lived here. I'm not sure what they were, though."
He pulled away as Ari exited and thought for a moment, "Perhaps they had hands? Like Sun here."
He nuzzled Sun gently and tickled his wee belly with his nose, giggling softly at the joy the gibbon radiated.
"... You're so beautiful, Sunny," he said softly, "Never stop being you."
James looked to Ari and grinned, ears perking up, "... I take back anything I ever said about kids. I want ten more of Sun."
Aristotle stood looking at the strange things he had found. They were different and interesting. He wondered if maybe he could come back someday with something and move them. However he highly doubted that he would be able to even move them in the future. As James spoke Aristotle tried to fathom what kind of creature they could have been. Perhaps tall and lanky with spindly limbs and hands on front and back like a monkey. At that thought the lion let out a snorting laugh scrunching his eyes closed he gasped for breath. Sorry, Sorry. I was trying to imagine what kind of creature it could have been and all I could come up with looked so silly! Aristotle explained why he had randomly burst out laughing. Perhaps someday we will find out what kind of creature lived here. The lion mused aloud this would be a question that stuck with him for a very long time.
Aristotle nodded at James' thought of the creatures having hands. That’s kinda what I saw, A tall creature with long limbs that stood up on its back legs with hands on all its limbs and it was hairless. Isn’t that silly? The young lion asked his best friend.
The lion watched the loving little exchange between James and Sun. A small approving smile rested on Aristotle’s lips as he watched. He couldn’t help the feeling of love and admiration he felt for both of the Gembound in front of him. As James turned his attention back to Aristotle and he spoke, a bright laugh escaped the lion. I’m glad because to tell the truth, I want a big family. Aristotle admitted to the horse with a sheepish grin. Then it came to him. James, how would you feel about packing everyone and everything up and moving back Eridanus? The question was sudden but had been on the lion’s mind for a while now. The fruit here is sparse except in my garden and house, and for me there’s very little prey to hunt. I often have to travel back to Eridanus to find more than a pitch rat. The lion explained his reasoning for why he wanted to move back Eridanus.
