Nemo

After finally sating his curiosity, and making a few new friends, he heads out on another one of his not-so-small adventures across the caves, wanting to blend in with the Bonebound in a not-so-blending sort of way.

Meaning he wanted to go looking for things he could use to color his feathres, other than ochre. He wants that but... well, but blue. Issue is, is that possible?

He's seen flowers of other colors, and dust can be grey, but can it be blue? Maybe he can use some of those colorful round things... berries, they're called, to color his feathers?

If leaves can be red and white and brown and orange, and flowers and other people's feathers be different colors, there's going to be a way I can turn mine any caves-be-cursed color I want!

With that, he begins to duck under bushes and poke around flowers looking for anything of a new color- he might as well collect them and bring them back to Canis, maybe the odd creatures that live closer to Hydra would want some...

Nemo

With a victorious "Ah-HAH!", Nemo closes his beak around an admittedly small bundle of purple berries hidden behind a leaf... He's glad that he happened to glance back, otherwise he would have missed them!

But... hmm, if he gets done what he really wants done, then he's going to need help hauling it all back to the Bonebound, he doesn't have enough room in his beak if he finds anything really neat.

So, he decides to risk his magic and sends a whirling burst up into the trees, hoping to knock down a leaf about the size of his body, if possible. Also, he could use it to make his nest in Canis if they actually let him stay.

A deep breath through his nose, a puffing out of his chest and he flaps his wings, hoping that the gust will spin off the tips of them and where he wants.

Nemo

To his eternal satisfaction and pride, the air almost scythes like a blade- okay not really, but it rockets up into the branches and brings down a number of leaves ranging from a bit smaller than him to as long as his wingspan! He's so excited, and hopping up and down he almost drops his berries to declare loudly:

"Oh man, did you see-!"

A beat, and the wind (pun intended) drops out from his sails, and he sighs, muttering a dejected and sad, "...that. Anyway, lets stack these up."

As he said he would to no-one but himself, Nemo sets the purple berries off to the side as stacks the leaves from biggest to smallest, a total of eight in the stack before topping it with his berries and setting his sights to the nearby plants again to search for another color... maybe one that's warmer, one that might go with his eyes...?

His recent success had galvanized his determination to continue on his endeavor, and he's swinging his head back and forth, hurrying through the brush and ferns at a fast clip- and finding an even smaller bundle of yellow berries... barely a clawful, but at this point he wants more of them.

Nemo wants a lot of colors, yes, but he wants a lot, OF a lot of colors.

Lots if irritated squawks ensue as he takes a good look at the plant he's just picked from, and then starts to seek more of the berries for his little horde he's making.

I wonder if anyone has any neat colors they make of these, that aren't.. this color. Huh. I wonder what happens if you put purple and yellow together..?

The 'geier is humming a little under his breath, and thinking about all the colors he's seen as he sticks his beak into another bundle of ferns and bushes.

Nemo

More! Yellow! Success!

Maybe he can find other sources of colors as well, but...

Right now his brain is in berries mode, but we can be sure he'll be hunting at some point later for living gems and feathery beings who could offer more in general, but for now, he happily takes this next clump of berries and hops back to his pile.

Berries on berries on leaves, and then he leaves to go search for an even hotter color to match his collection, something that he hopes he find a decent sized clump of.

Nemo is happily ready for more.. hah, ready. Red-y.

Let's look for red berries then!

Nemo

Nemo closes the tip of his beak around a now-becoming-familiar type of branch, the kind that carried berries, and he pulls them from within the bush... shrub thing with a victorious flap of his wings.

Now THIS was a big bundle of berries, and each one a stunning red! Perfect!

I wonder if these are edible... he muses as he sets them down, turning his head this way and that and angling one eye at a time at the pile, finally dismissing the thought with a peck and a silent sigh.

During his searches, he'd seen some half ripe berries, or at least some that seemed so, and he has a fleeting thought that there's yet another color to add to his feathers, or maybe even he could.. paint some bones? No, would the Bonebound find that rude...?

He could always make himself present in Monoceros again and go visit Glory... but it's been much too long, and again he shakes his head as if to dislodge the thought.

Nemo

Alright, another huge clump of berries! These ones blended in with the leaves, almost, and he's surprised he found them...

Or he'd be more surprised if he didn't feel the juice dribbling down his beak as he had bitten one into pulp.

Whoops.

Plopity-plunk, new berries in the trunk.. erm. On the leaf. Nemo wipes his beak aggressively on the moss, back and forth as he wipes the green juice off his beak. This... flings moss around, so he decides that he's going to enjoy himself and flips some loose bits of moss left and right while hopping about from bush to bush, to shrub, to fern- ew okay that's wet, quick to the tree!

Now.. what other colors could there be left? Hopefully there's at least the color he wants...

A soft sigh, and he rubs at his bauble around his neck, and begins to search...

A bit frustrated as he was, Nemo continued to search, not realizing how far off the ground he was getting. Or how far he was getting from his little hoard.

There's got to be blue berries.. are only flowers blue? Or is only glow blue?

The 'geier is getting a bit frustrated, and when he lands on a wide branch as best he can with his limited grip strength, he lets out a low, hissing noise that could he mistaken for a cuss word if he actually knew how to cuss.

"Here, berry berry berry... c'mon...."

Nemo

The harsh landing was a horrible mistake, cause he'd cracked the branch... and when he opened his wings to take off again, the branch gives out under his feet with an almighty crack! He does manage to throw himself into the air, but... well, there's a bit of dramatic irony that he's not really liked flying, and his now not-so-neurotic fear of crashing horribly comes true as he manages to hit the moss on the cave floor, but only after:

Hitting some small branches,
Then a large one, which flipped him,
then he proceeds to hit a tree trunk and slide down it with a quick and internal, This is familiar-
before he finally bounces off of some roots, miraculously landing near his dye horde.

Ow... my everything...

But hey! His necklace is nearby! Cause it manages to fall and smack him on the head after having been snagged on some branches up above.

Yay...?

Nemo

The large bird twists and turns where he lay, and suddenly a color above his head catches his eye- blue, huh, cool.

Blue?
...
BLUE!

A squawk that borders on a screech comes from his chest and out his beak, and he finally manages to get his feet under him and wings already extended mid-stroke in the first graceful move all day. On the downbeat, he jumps, and this sends himself up into the tress with a few hearty thumps of his feathered appendages, and he closes his beak around the stalk of this massive branch of berries with a satisfying snap and a happy weight.

Blue berries added to the pile, and leaves rearranged slightly to support the now.. wow, very large pile, and he decides this is enough.

A few more adjustments, and he tests his little leaf sledge by giving the messy bundle of stems a tug.

It moves well and he quickly makes sure he has his bauble - Oops, better put that back on! - and he leaves the cave now walking backwards, and starting on his awkward and long trek back to Canis.
