Sorda listened with quiet anticipation as the winners were announced. She couldn’t help but smile as she was announced to be in third place. Sure, she hadn’t gotten first or even second place, but she’d placed! The feeling that she could’ve done better was overridden by the joy of placing at all.

She quickly searched the crowd for Tupu, and upon spotting her, quickly flew over. "Good Job!" She grinned, "But now, let’s go home." She’d flutter towards the Pisces entrance, occasionally doubling back to get Tupu, should her companion get distracted by a stray clump of grass or moss like she often did.

Hunter waved his hands, calling as the remainder crossed the finish line. "That's right!! You can do it!! Come on, everyone! You're almost there!" He laughed, delighted, until the last one seemed to reach the end. Yeah, the race was "over", but not for everyone.

Actually, he waited at the end, expecting more gembound to come through. Did... did some of them not get through until the end? A worried frown settled across his face. "Hang on, did the medics come get some of the racers? We're forgetting some of them."

He frowned, realizing a lot of people had already left. Okay, okay, that was fine. He started picking his way back through the race track, stumbling a bit over rocks. Mostly, he wanted to make sure everyone was okay, but he also noticed bits of his own fur and others littering the tunnel where gembound had tripped or got caught on stuff.

Maybe he could find something!

As Hunter picked his way through, he eventually reached where Madukhar's electrified hairballs were-- gross-- but he was having trouble finding anything besides charred bits of gembound and scraps of fur. "Hello?" He called, "No one's still this far back, right? Hey, they called the race done and over, but if you still want to complete it, I'd be happy to watch!" Maybe he was just talking to himself, just a young lady out on an adventure.

Ah well. It was still pretty fun! There had been quite a few birds, so he had really thought he could find a feather or five. Was it weird to be taking feathers from people after a friendly competition? Well, they weren't using them anyway, so what was the harm?

FINALLY, Hunter managed to find a black feather-- at least, he thought he did. But when he reached down to pick it up, he realized a moment too late it was burnt to a crisp. As he touched it, it turned to ash in his fingers.

... maybe it was a bit of a lost cause. Oh well. He shrugged, and continued the rest of the way through the tunnel, before he decided he should go find his family. (Had they already gone home? Maybe.)

It seemed as though everyone was going now, and while Madhukar did not want to go without knowing whether Tahi-shei was alright or not, she figured it might actually be for the best. What could she do? Tahi had surrendered, they probably had called a medic for the deer as well as everyone else who got hurt. Madhukar's emotions would get even further out of order if she stuck around. It wouldn't be good for anybody to get in her way while she was feeling like this. She had to go somewhere else, calm down, then she could laugh about watching everybody stumble over her electric hairballs. That would probably make her feel a lot better.

Wow, that really tired her out, huh? Even as everyone else left to go back home, the little lizard still lied on the ground like a limp ragdoll. It was just about the most physical exercise she had done in her life, and the fact she scored so high despite her small size really made her heart pound. But all Sharp really wanted was a nice, long rest. Maybe stay here in the tunnel for the night. The tunnel was nice and cold, so why not take a nap?

It was only long after everyone else had left and the obstacles disassembled that a tiny lizard finally peeled herself off the stone floor and went home.

Only one person called out, and Bug slunk past miserably. But she noted him in turn, regardless, ember eyes flicking up shamefully. "Thanks for asking," she offered, and it was genuine. He was a little farther back, but that was all right--so was she, and he'd just been watching.

After a moment, and a nod of appreciation, she flitted off, taking wing. She felt... a little better, not having been entirely ignored--but it still stung, and she wondered when she'd gotten so bad at... things.
