The deer and their father were talking and Pegasus didn't really understand what they were talking about beside's his dad's feathers. Those were pretty! Pegasus had some too! Not as much as James did, but they did have some of the pinkish colored feathers mixed in with their soft grey ones. Pegasus did move to the ground, soft feathers rubbing up against the smooth skin of their parent as he stood on the ground of the cave, now. The gator-like tail taking a moment longer to reach the flooring, and would have kicked up dust if the area wasn't relatively clean from being around the booth.

"Nice to meet you." Pegasus voiced, quiet but loud enough to be heard.

Someone for him to meet? Now Aran was curious. He disliked not being able to see the one he was being shown, but there was someone there based on all of the moving and rustling. Maybe whoever it was, was hidden behind the wings of the horse? It made some sense. The voice made his mostly-blind eyes drag to where the colt was standing, he could make out the vague shape of a long tail and a body that looked pretty much like James' but without real sight he couldn't tell what the kid looked like.

"Nice to meet you as well." Aran replied with a careful nod as to not knock anything off of his antlers.

"Did you give life to that one?" He paused. "He has the same shape as you." Aran questioned, careful to listen for anyone else coming to the place to get sweets or trinkets. He didn't want to take up all of James' time.

James nodded and bent his neck to offer Pegasus a nuzzle and a lick, "Mhm. His name's Pegasus."

He fluffed up a wing and draped it on top of the colt, letting him look out at everything while also not being exposed to it too much at one time. If Pegasus wished to explore or to visit his sister's booth, he was absolutely welcome, of course.

"Here, love," he said, picking up a treat and holding it out to Pegasus, "Want to try it? It's really good."

He looked up at Aran again, "He does look like I used to, but he's grey and covered in soft feathers, and has an alligator tail. He's beautiful."

Aran wondered how fitting the name was for the kid, but he had no way of telling without talking more. He wasn't good with kids, and never did go out of his way to speak or interact with them. Besides Kimera, but she was part of the Edenfolk so that didn't count much, in his eyes. He could hear the kid take the fruit roll and munch on it, but the part about an alligator tail threw him so far off he didn't know what to say.

Alligators reminded him of his fight with the gator before, and how his magic completely backfired onto himself. How he basically killed himself with his own magic on top of the stupid thing breaking his bones. Aran, however, shoved that thought so far into the back of his head. He didn't want to think about it - not near the kid that James clearly treasured with his entire being. That kid wasn't the same as the alligator he fought - if anything Pegasus was more horse than Alligator and never would become like the alligator he fought did.

Somehow he still resented it.

He didn't show that, though, and instead proceeded to grind what teeth he did have (deer teeth are weird, man).

"Maybe i'll get to actually see him soon, then." Aran offered, but didn't say why. He didn't know if what he was doing would even work for his sight.

There wasn't much for Pegasus to react to, except for the treat that his parent was handing him. He took it, and munched on it. The sweetness melted against his tongue and it was nice, though it covered his teeth and made them feel weird. Maybe it was the sweetness doing that? Sometimes fruit were sticky against his feathers, too.

"I like it." Pegasus chimed out, it was nice!

Something seemed wrong, though - with the deer gembound. He seemed bothered by something. But what was it? His parent only talked about what he looked like, and if the other gembound couldn't see then why? Feathers on his head flared at that, but Pegasus made no move to mention it.

"I'm going to go see what Comet is doing."

The kid voiced before nudging James and plodding off. Maybe he could ask his parent later.

James quickly trotted after Peggy and gave him another treat for Comet before making his way back, ears pricked forward.

"I'm certain you will. Be... just be careful, okay?", he said, knowing that the Collector had unfortunately become... popular.

"And we need to talk later," he mumbled, "Please."

He smiled again and brushed his feathers against Aran's shoulder, "Well, I think there are some more customers on the way!"

There were indeed. Drawn by the chatter of James and still toting his pumpkin, Talys wandered over and set it down. "HI JAMES!!" he called, eager to see him. "How've you been?! I got taller! And I lost teeth, see?" He bared his teeth in a wide smile, showing gaps in his mouth where baby teeth had fallen out and a couple of places where adult teeth had already grown in. "What'd you make?" he asked again, looking down at the feathers and fruity things. The smell of sugar in the air especially caught his attention -- kids were always bound to develop a sweet tooth.

James perked up and fluffed his wings, trotting over to Talys and marveling at the pumpkin, "Oh my- losing teeth, you say? Wonderful! Your adults ones should grow in soon!"

He put a wing on his head and laughed, "You are taller! Magnificent!"

He put a wing on Talys' back and lead him over to the treats and the feather trinkets, "Take one, I made them with fruit juice. They're delicious!"

He picked up a feather necklace and dropped it over Talys' neck, "You can have one of these, too. I made them of my shed feathers, so now you have something to remember me by when we part ways."

Talys's eyes lit up at the feather draped around his neck, and he grabbed a fruit roll with one hand before taking a large bite of it. His eyes lit up. "It's sweet!" Most animals had a so-so ability to taste sweet things beyond very basic flavors, but Talys was a humanoid and so the fruit was an exciting prospect indeed. "Thank you!!" And then, because he had a pretty solid understanding of the concept of trade, he retrieved two baby teeth and dropped them onto the counter.

He ran his fingers along the feather with his free hand and took another bite, grinning widely. "Your booth is the best! I like this sweet thing a lot! Can you show me how to make it?"

James blinked and stared at the teeth for a moment before simply nodding, "You're welcome, little one. Come, I'll show you."

He turned and made his way to his stone pot, one he'd found in Orion. He got out some peaches and rolled them over to Talys.

"Squeeze them into the pot," he said, "It's hot, but that's the point. It'll boil down into a syrup, then we can pour it out onto that slab over there and roll them into tubes. Or fruit rolls."

He'd find a... use... for those teeth...
