QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

The dog nodded during the short pause - he was okay with it. Then, the hellhound began running. He gave a playful growl and sprang after Kerberos. He immediately noticed the creature's strange way of running - perhaps he didn't do it often?
He felt a little bad, because Bones was able to quite easily catch up to Kerberos. He wasn't too sure how to catch him without causing pain to the demondog, so instead the painted dog ran alongside him, tongue out and ears comically flopped back.
Kerberos blinked as Bones almost effortlessly kept up with him. No wonder he was such a good hunter! He must have been so fast! The puppy stared with all six eyes at Bones and grinned back, panting hard as he ran. It was hardly a surprise that he strayed from the curving path and into the dangerous field of scattered bones.
It was even less surprising that he stepped on one and it slid under his weight and sent him tripping, tumbling, paws over muzzle, into the dust. With a yelp of surprise he landed on his back, eyes wide and dazed. Yep, Kerberos was still one hell of a clumsy pup.
He craned his heads to look at Bones, not even bothering to try and get up.
"I think you win," he woofed. "Maybe I should chase you instead." Honestly, he doubted he would be able to catch Bones... But.
Bones yelped, stopping once Kerberos fell over. "Are you okay?" he asked, leaning over to peer at all three faces. They all looked okay, so he licked the middle head's forehead just in case.
Then he nodded and tried to help push the helldog to his feet, before he backed off, tail wagging, and then turned to bolt off. He looked sleek and athletic now, instead of awkward and gangly. He ran through Canis almost every day - he knew nearly every single turn and bend of the room.
But with Kerberos he slowed down just a little bit and made sure he ran around the places with the least amount of bones strewn across them.

Kerberos grinned harder as his friend worried over him and gave him a lick. "Yeah, I'm okay!" This happened frequently to him, and the bruises he got from his rough housing were something he was more than used to. With Bones' help, he got back to his paws and bowed down in a playful stance, tail wagging.
Bones darted off and he sprang into action, tromping along after him eagerly. The large earred dog had really grown into himself, even though Kerberos thought he was smaller than last time on account of getting much bigger. He ran with easy, taking the hellhound for quite the "walk". And boy, was Kerberos happy.
He chased the painted dog through Canis, a gentle wind flitting through his fur. His tongues lolled out of his mouths, saliva dry and crusty in the stale air of the bone cave-- but his eyes were full of excitement and life. He barked, wordlessly, at his friend as the pup turned down a corner and scampered after him, trying desperately to catch up.
Slowly and steadily, he seemed to find his gait-- and eventually he became used to his awkward body-- his speed picked up. His focus on the chase sharpened, claws clicking on the earth, narrowly dodging bones scattered by the path they took. Sure enough, he started to gain on Bones. He barked more, tail wagging as much as it could while being kept back by the force of his powerful run.

Taking a brief look behind him, Bones could see Kerberos beginning to gain speed. He was proud for him, in fact!
He decided he'd speed up to try and outrun the hellhound - but he found himself almost exactly repeating what Kerb did. Not looking where he was going, he tripped on a cluster of bones and fell down, landing on his side with a grunt.
Happily though, he rolled onto his back and looked back at the three heads with his tongue sticking out, tail wagging. "Heheh, oops," the dog gave a strange-looking smirk.

Kerberos had almost caught up to Bones when the pup tripped just as he had-- and he slammed his paws into the earth, skidding to a stop just before his canine's friend. Thankfully he had managed to stop in time, otherwise he might have trampled poor Bones.
As it was, his friend lopsidedly smirked at him and he happily grinned right back. "Careful!" He woofed, tail wagging wildly into some bones, scattering them all around. "You okay?" He asked, despite the goofy smile on Bones' face he wanted to make sure. The heads all leaned down and gave the pup a good clean lickin' to cheer him up and get him back up to his paws.
Bones nodded and rolled onto his belly, shaking dust off his head. He seemed to think for a moment. "You should pick a game this time, 'cause I picked one last time," he said. It was a good cover for a pup with absolutely no other ideas for games.
Besides, a new game would help him think of one, probably.
He got up to his paws, tail still thrashing as he looked at Kerberos expectantly, waiting excitedly for whatever he'd come up with.
Kerberos sat down beside his friend and gave a good, long, hard think. His right head-- the one with the orange nose and floppy ears-- gave a short bark as he came up with an idea.
"Oh! I know!" His tail wagged as his other heads shared a glance. "Close your eyes, Bones!" He insisted, hushing the other heads as they began to whine in wonder. Once the eyes had been closed, he stood and tromped off towards some bones, sniffing through the mess to find the perfect one.
As the head finished his frugal search, he paused and barked over his shoulder, "One of me is gonna put this bone in my mouth and you gotta guess what head, okay? Don't peek!" All said and done, he had a tiny femur hidden in one of his jaws, and he trotted back over.
He thumped his tail on the ground and pawed at Bones as if to say, open your eyes and guess!
Bones shut his eyes quickly, tail thrashing and kicking up dust that lay on the cave floor. His ears were pricked up, curious, as he heard the other heads of Kerberos whine. He wasn't sure what kind of game the hellhound had came up with - but it was surely creative.
When he opened his eyes again he was surprised, but glad. He would have thought the right head would be the least likely to have it in his mouth, but he could have put it in before he sat down. One of the painted dog's ears jerked, curiously. The middle head might co-operate, and he would have guessed the middle head to begin with if he was completely sure the right head didn't have it. The left head was seemingly the most hungry - he might have eaten it already.
Or is that what Kerberos wanted him to think?
Maybe. He decided to play it safe, for now. "Is it the middle head?"
