As part of an ongoing plot in Chaos Forge, but also to slightly expand Origin's lore, Origin staff will be offering out temporary adoptions of monstrous creatures made by the Master, Vargas. Please read through the following information, and if you'd like to be added to the list of potential adopters, post below!
The plots will work like this:
1) Vargas will create a new monster every four cycles. (These are mostly already decided on, design-wise--you would not be designing your own!)
2) A player would be chosen from the interest list to roleplay this monster temporarily. They would have four cycles to develop this character, train it, and flesh it out. (See notes for how we'd choose a player!)
3) After four cycles, Lord Dhracia will come to collect this creature, and judge its design and developed capabilities. It will then be removed from Origin Cave. Note: after this point, the character will no longer be present, and cannot be roleplayed, but will not be dead.
4) There may, in the future, wind up being potential other roleplay opportunities for these characters, but nothing is settled for certain just yet.
Notes:
1) These characters will be in danger of character death. These are temporary adopts, and if they prove too rebellious/dangerous for the nest, they may be destroyed; there's always also a possibility of a "whoopsie" in testing. But these are mostly down to player actions. In addition, if "future roleplay opportunities" do occur, these are liable to be potentially deadly. However, they should make for good storytelling, too!
2) In terms of magicka transfer, the staff are still considering details. Most likely the normal rules would apply: you can send magicka from cycle 2 onward. But you would not be allowed to use this character as a magicka source--aka when it is taken, its spells cannot be sold off. This is subject to change.
3) Players would be chosen for each adopt like so: we'd show the design to everyone on the interested list, then roll among those who would be interested in roleplaying that design. Most likely, once someone adopts one of these creations, they'd not be considered for another adopt until the rest of the members on the list have one, too.
