Where had he seen this darkness before? A warmth as he was cradled in the crystallized womb for periods of time. He did not lack control as he shifted as he grew, from a fleshy little thing that steadily allowed feathers to sprout from his skin and mutated into a more recognizable form. He grew in this little home of darkness, and it was a comforting one at that. It wasn't as if anyone would harm the chrysalis that he was housed in, and the nutrients came in abundance to allow him to continue to develop at a healthy pace. He had seen this darkness before, or maybe he glanced at nothing many times since he could see clearly. He could barely feel, or sense what occurred within or outside. But he decided he was ready to know what laid outside the home he had always known.

A developed beak prodded against the shell of his chrysalis, and small cracks steadily became apparent in the midst of the damage caused. The amber was hardly translucent when he had failed to view what the shell had always seen. Shards slid down as he continued to peck harshly until his beak poked the air, and the breeze that had begun to fill the home. He had continued to peck some more until he finally emerged as a fledgling who draped himself over the bottom of the hole before sliding out of the stone.

He blinked, sleepy, as he looked around at his settings. Bones were dispersed across the area. The air was chilling as he shivered, unaccustomed to what he considered warmth. He got to his feet, his legs trembling until his paws had a grip on the floor as he took shaky steps all around before his attention turned to something dark red nearby.

It was so warm and wholesome in his chrysalis, Dustin had to wonder why he ever wanted to leave such a place. But his developmental time had come and he was itching to break free as he struck out with his tiny limbs towards the edges of the cocoon. It didn't help that his stone, by nature, was malleable and instead of shattering it bulged at the internal pressure that was being thrust upon it. Drowsily, he continued his struggle against his home, the place he had once been living in and was a sanctuary had now become his prison.

Unsheathed claws began to scratch and tear and a pitiful mewl followed as he managed to tear open the leathery skin. Thrust into the algid climate, he didn't have a chance to notice the bones as he tumbled right into the little fuzz ball that was Isaiah. Confused and dazed, the chimera blinked a few times, trying to adjust his sensitive eyes to the light. "Wuh?"

Quite comfortable in his heap on the ground, he curled tighter attempting to keep himself warm. "Warm."

The gatekeeper, the hellhound of Canis, was nearby. He was hungry... but things were happening.

New life.

This was of utmost importance to him. Six pink eyes watched the babies come to life, laying among the bones. His tag wagged gently, holding his breath. Were these more family members for him? He hoped so.

"Hello!" He woofed shortly and softly, his heads on his paws-- he was purposefully as small as his massive white body could be made.

The fledgling had little to hold his ground as he wobbled on new legs. The dark red thing was nearby, but he hopped closer as he inspected it further, noting how it looked somewhat like his own chrysalis. The color was obviously different as he tried to get closer, wanting to peck at it during his inspection. Instead, he squawked as something made some weird sounds before it clawed itself out of the stone before it tumbled onto him in the process! He was dazed himself, but too sleepy and young to comprehend everything with keen senses. "Wah?" the fledgling tried to mimic the strange creature's sound.

He frowned at the cuddling against him as the creature stated that he was 'warm' yet he didn't try to move. He twitched from the contact as he chirped confusedly at the thing that remained near him. He pecked lightly at it, blinking and tilted his head. It wasn't long until his attention was torn away towards some giant, furry thing with multiple heads before he squawked again, furiously attempting to move away from his newly hatched buddy in fear that he would be eaten by this loud-speaking thing, but it woofed. Or whatever that sound was that emitted from the giant, hairy thing. Yet... "Wo--cheep." he replied with his eyes still bulging.

He was barely successful in pulling away from the cuddling creature as he freed himself after some attempts, panting from the effort, but he ended up rolling a few inches away before he got to his feet.

There was a strong feeling of magicka surging through Canis today. It coated the air like a thick blanket of smoke, except the Ave did not choke on it. In fact, he felt more powerful with the aura. There had to be a source, and Azazel hunted for it in silence. Blinking as he turned his crown downwards, he looked for something that could be the source of magicka being dispersed into the world. Golems? A new and strange creature emerging into the world? A crystal rising from the earth similar to the Spire within the Core? Had that fat dragon finally weighed down the Spire and crushed it, forcing it to move elsewhere? He hoped not. That possibly meant he was coming to Canis as well to sit on the spire once again. Because he was lazy. And fat. Etc., etc., so on and so forth.

What he happened upon was fantastic. Two newborn gembound. He couldn't miss the one Gembound that gathered. Why? Well, because it happened to be Kerberos. Who was a giant mass of fluffy and very difficult to miss. Hiding wasn't exactly his forte. Far from it, indeed. A great white polar bear dog thing with a bright tail was a beacon. Not to mention his three heads. "Hi, Kerb!" He called out before landing gently on the giant cerberus' back, hoping he wouldn't mind. Then he peeped over his bowed heads, chirping quietly, "What did you find?" What he saw were the cutest little bundles. A little feline and a small bird. One that looked shockingly familiar. He squinted for a moment and about vibrated from happiness. Someone like him! All he could muster was an excited, "Hi!"

The big fluffy babies before him were absolutely precious. He wagged his tail around like a huge flag, a banner of his pride. He loved baby kittens the most, of course, but the chick and was precious too. He was about to try and teach them how to speak properly-- since they were having a bit of trouble-- when he heard a flurry of feathers behind him.

A weight landed on his shoulders and his coat shook to try and dispatch the massive fly-- or whatever it was-- off, but it was quite heavy. His crimson nosed face swiveled around to snap at whatever it was, but he stopped in his tracks when he saw the bright golden feathers of the one tasty chicken he definitely wasn't supposed to eat.

"Oh!" He woofed. The other heads twisted around to peek, his middle head having a difficult time. "Aza! Heya! I found babies. Little life. Precious. I was being good I promise."

The middle head finally understood the situation and quickly jumped to his own defense. After all, not every gembound trusted him yet and he had thought about eating Aza'zel in the past... "Would never eat little babies. I'm a good dog," He whined, his side heads trying to give the big bird boss a pawful of licks all over his fluffy feathers.

The little fledgling wobbled around some more, studying the strange creatures that wandered in this land filled with bones. While his focus would easily be preoccupied with his stroke of good luck - when it came to bones - he found himself wary when he realized for certain that he was not alone; being the newborn that he was. His golden eyes continued to bulge as he still caught view of the giant, hairy beast although his attention temporarily shifted towards something that looked familiar in shape that appeared just about now.

He listened to the conversation from the scary beast to the feathered creature as they exchanged words. Being a newborn, he could grasp some of the spoken language although plenty of it remained all in a form of gibberish for his time of birth. He did squint at the idea of the beast mentioning that he wouldn't eat a child, but he didn't know how to form it into words his skepticism, or whatever that concept so happened to be. His focus finally fell upon the newcomer as he seemed rather excited about something. The fledgling did not respond, but instead he blinked slowly before stretching his developing wings.
