Welcome to Cycle 110!

We hope you all had a great 'Origin's 9th Anniversary' event! Over the next day or two, the Anniversary Raffle tickets will be checked over and tallied, and the Raffle will be run. Winners will be announced by the end of the week--but hopefully sooner! As a reminder, everyone who entered will win a prize.

This month was super busy, so the OTM results had FIERCE competition. A big thanks to everyone who posted this month!

Congratulations to our June OTM winners! June's Character of the Month is Diem Dark, the vulture-skulled stranger from beyond the caves, here to stare at everything with wide-eyed wonder. June's Pair of the Month is Anubis and Bacchus, an incredibly morally questionable pair very much up to no good. (We will watch their career with great interest.) The Thread of the Month is 'after midnight we're all the same', in which a Drone and creature of Chaos come together to try and find some (shaky) common ground. Lastly, you guys voted me (Dark) MotM, so thank you for that!! It is much appreciated (and I love you too).

I'd like to note there was heavy competition for all of these OTMs! Anubis fought for the CotM slot; V-Ruby-One and V-Onyx-Three definitely deserve an almost-PotM honorable mention; a number of great threads had votes, and SEVERAL members had MotM votes too!

Achievements & magicka have been awarded to all winners!

Thanks for voting!

Monthly Draw

ʡ 500Purple Gem

Congratulations to Silkwyrm on winning the Monthly Draw!

Let's have a quick look back at the last month, and then a roadmap for our planned events! First, the May Recap!

Mutation Slots gained a huge change, first off. Yes, this was technically April, but for anyone who missed the announcement, Mutation Slots are now split into Major and Minor, and heavily reduced in price! UCS and RCS were also greatly reduced.

Centaurus has Awoken. Each cycle, the Dreamer will dream a new Centaurus Dream; the Shapers then Shape the cave to match. Players can have their characters roll to discover rewards themed to the cave--with the theme changing every cycle.

The Contest Contest vote results are in--and the winner is Pocket Lessers! The other contests may be used in the future, but for now, don't forget to sign up for the BATTLE! portion if you so wish! (The other two Pocket Lessers competitions won't need signups!)

Lastly, the 9th Anniversary Gacha & Raffle are wrapping up right now. Don't forget to make your claims for your Gacha wins ASAP. Extenuating circumstances are totally fine, but in general the claim deadline is May 31st. Again, Raffles will be rolled shortly.

Future Roadmap

June 10th - Pocket Lessers
The Contest Contest winner will take place in three parts. If your character doesn't have a Familiar and the spell Familiar Forge, but you'd like them to partake, a temporary Familiar will be provided for them! All competitions will take place in Orion's forum, so that anyone can watch from the audience--refreshments will be provided.

The first segment, BATTLE!, requires signups as above so we can prepare pairings in advance (via random rolls)! In this competition, Gembounds will have to guide their Familiars (temporary or not) in non-lethal battle. Each fight lasts five rounds, and will be judged by no less than Nemean herself! Rewards here include cool Lesser armor and battle weapons.

The second segment consists of an obstacle course set within the Forum. Gembounds' links with their familiars will be tested as they guide them as quickly and accurately as possible through the course. The winners will receive precious metal and gemstone trophies, along with awards ribbons! Nemean will judge this section, too.

The third challenge is a Teamwork Challenge, consisting of puzzles. The Gembounds will be out of sight of their Familiars, and must use their bond and their brain to help their Familiar to navigate these puzzles. For a final test, they must guide their familiar in performing a trick or talent exhibition of some kind for the audience. Awards will include matched decor for the Greater & Lesser team. The judge? Believe it or not, Nemean!

To note, additional rewards for First, Second, and Third place for all challenges will include a choice of Magicka rewards or specific spells chosen for the event. Familiar Forge will also be on sale (50% off) for the event's duration!

June 24th - Cassiopeia Lies Silent
This is a little odd, isn't it? A whole cave unlocked, but it still lies silent and almost dead. Its lights lie defunct, its connection to Draco still severed, its buildings in deep disrepair.

This event chain will consist of exploring the mystery behind Cassiopeia and attempting to return it to life. What is Cassiopeia's history? Why is it silent, almost utterly devoid of Lesser life? Where's the guardian that Azigh mentioned? Why is this cave littered with shattered chrysalises? What purpose did an entire city within the Caves serve?

These mysteries will be explored--and the cave hopefully restored--during this quest.

July 7th - A Breath Of Fresh Air
The NPC Peppermince has a particular spell concept he'd like to test out. He needs as many Gembounds as possible, representing as many elements as he can. What could he possibly be up to..?

As a sidenote on the topic of spells, we've had a lot of spell suggestions over the last year or so, and plenty of them are fantastic. We promise we're holding onto them, and they're likely to start trickling in in individual events soon. These have no planned date, and will likely be surprises popped out during lulls in site activity!

July ??? - FATE IS BLIND
Remember our Mysterious Invitations to characters of Order and Chaos? Yeah, those still stand... and a certain someone is still planning. This is an event that will be fairly involved, and will also allow for an audience... so get that popcorn ready!

Prior to the event, we will double-check which characters are still planning attendence (oocly).

That's all for May! We hope to see you all continuing to have fun, through June and beyond!
