South-East Quadrant — Tunnel Q

Tunnel Q connects Pisces and Andromeda. This tunnel is mostly flooded with sparse walkways of smooth, gray stone, the chill of Pisces carrying across its waters; though the water is mostly still, it is not stagnant, and a gentle current can be felt moving from Pisces toward Andromeda. Much of the water is shallow, barely a foot deep, with some areas reaching three or even five feet in depth. Glowing crystals and plants provide the tunnel with most of its light and become more prevalent towards the Andromeda entrance. Unlike other empty tunnels, this one's dim lighting and babbling waters provide a very relaxing and calm environment. Groves of bamboo are not uncommon throughout the tunnel, creating private walkways and spots to rest within the dense stalks.
LOCATIONS

Pisces Entrance
Several small waterfalls feed into the tunnel from Pisces and the deepest parts of the water are found here, creating pools and deep-cut rivets in the rock. Lichen atop the rock creates pillow-top stepping stones that can sometimes become slippery. Larger areas of flat stone can be rested upon or even slept on safely.
Andromeda Entrance
Adorned with glittering, glowing crystals and plants, the entrance to Andromeda is welcoming but increasingly eerie. The water of the tunnel becomes more shallow until it is puddles or dry underfoot, and the trickling of small waterfalls or gurgling water ceases entirely; save for the rustle of a plant here or there, the entrance is oddly silent.
Site of Meditation
Partway through the tunnel is a large, flat surface of rock surrounded by shallow water on all sides. Through cracks in the rock grows a large black-bark tree, its limbs stretching to cover the whole of the site like an umbrella, its five-point leaves an ever-red that glow dimly in the low light of the tunnel. There are bamboo-woven mats and old pillows, though they do not seem abandoned—The Blacksmith can sometimes be found meditating here.

A broad shape slid down from what could only be loosely termed "the sky," wings beating with heavy thuds. Before the hydra stood the black tree that reached upward through the rock, here, its brilliant red leaves almost glowing. One of the hydra's heads did not wait for the body's clawed feet to touch down before speaking out:

"Can we eat it?" This head's eyes gleamed wide with enthusiastic hunger.
A soft laugh from another, and an even softer voice, answered: "No, Furud. It's a tree."

The hydra set fully down, shaking itself like a dog, the thick fur around shoulders and down its neck casting away some of the dust and dried leaves from its long journey here. It then began to pick its way--trying to step lightly, but too heavily-built to do so very well--toward the tree. The shifting aurora glow across its wings reflected in the water around the flat stones.

"Technically, we could eat it. But I think it belongs to someone," a third head said, thoughtful. "Mirzim?"

The three heads looked to a fourth, this one sleeker than the rest, her head lifting with a thoughtful expression. "I don't sense anything, if that's what you're asking. But no--you're right. This doesn't look abandoned. But you're also right in that it looks like a place that we can rest."

"It doesn't seem dangerous. It's nice," the second head said.

"Then we'll rest here. I'll try to stay awake and keep watch." They knew it likely wouldn't work. Sometimes, one head could stay awake while the others slept, but more often the whole body was in tune; that whole "motionless and deep-breathing" thing tended to send all four of them into a deep sleep.

"I want to stay awake, too. And watch for food," Furud said, a dark tongue lashing out to lick around his fangs.

"It might be for the best," Sirius agreed, firing a brief, dour glance at the two other heads as both snorted soft laughs. "...This is a high-traffic place. We'd be wise to keep our eyes open." Not that they were afraid of attack, exactly, but none of the four were careless, either.

After a few moments of picking around the flat area, the hydra curled up near the woven mats, the two sleeping heads borrowing pillows on which to rest.

Rajani Daillo
He hadn't been born that long ago and he already hated it here. His mood had been rather foul since he crawled out of that chrysalis and no amount of sleep or travel really helped ease that growing annoyance at everything around him. Even now, as he stalked the scent of a cave mouse, he just hoped he could sink his claws into it and ease some of the tension in his tiny shoulders. Slowly he sniffed, slipping through the puddles of water silently, stalking in the shadows until the scent of another caught his attention, much bigger than the mouse he was hunting, and there seemed to be various voices though he couldn't catch what they were saying.

He wasn't stupid, he knew he couldn't fight something that big, and he didn't even know what that scent was. But at the same time, he wasn't going to try to continue on without knowing at least the location of a potential threat. Slowly lowering himself to the ground, he began stalking closer until he was peaking out from around the edge of a rock that was only slightly bigger than him.

His eyes widened slightly when he saw the large creature, instantly freezing. What the absolute hell was that? It seemed to have multiple heads and he silently wondered if they all thought independently. He recalled the different voices he heard and looked around for a moment, taking a second to sniff the air but when he noticed no other scents, his gaze flicked back to the creature, figuring that whatever that thing was had been the voices talking to themselves.

He tried to use the ability that he used when he first emerged from the chrysalis, hoping to get a bit closer to get a better look, though something in the back of his head was telling him not to. He clearly should have listened to it, because as soon as he took no more than two steps, he stepped into a puddle that had a sudden drop in the ground and suddenly he went tumbling forward into the small puddle of water, making him grunt in surprise as he face planted into the puddle.

As one, the voices went deadly silent, four heads snapping toward the splash. At first it was simply a startled response: the sound was sudden, unexpected. Then, Wolfhound's various heads began to recognize what they were looking at; eyes narrowed, heads cocked, and smiles (some sinister, some pleasant) curled alien lips.

The kind smile belonged to a head that was offering a gentle squint toward Rajani, her expression reaching her eyes. This head tilted a little, and her voice--the softly melodic one--spoke first. "Are you all right, little one?"

The fourth, neither sneering nor smiling, snapped a gaze at this head. "-It's not food?" it demanded, immediately sounding disappointed. The first head rolled its eyes, though none of them responded to this.

The third, female but deeper and more considering, less kind, spoke in a more appraising tone. "It looks like it will be large, some day. Tell me, creature--what sort of thing are you?" Her words were both approving, and curious; it was a little ironic that the multi-headed alien was just as perplexed by the existence of a tiger as the tiger was of them.

On the whole, Wolfhound turned to face the cub, taking a few easy steps toward him; but there was seemingly no ill intent. They stopped a polite distance off, though admittedly all four hydra heads looming with their full attention on Rajani was likely not reassuring, at least.

Rajani Daillo
To say he was pissed was an understatement. His fur was wet and stuck out in multiple directions and now he really just wanted to leave and tell everyone else to fuck off. But unfortunately for him, not just one, but multiple voices spoke out to him and he huffed, lifting his head to look over at the weird multi headed creature. Three of the four heads spoke and he narrowed his eyes, mentally taking in every piece of information he could get. Each head seemed to have different personalities, that was something that he could use to his advantage if needed.

For now though, he looked at the first head, dipping his head for a moment. "Fine." He said simply, narrowing his eyes slightly at the one head that talked about him being food, but he didn't say anything and instead turned his attention to the third head, hesitating for just a moment before answering. "I am tiger." He said simply, his voice deep and low despite his age, however he had a deep Russian accent, his words in the common tongue seeming slightly broken.

Cocking his head to the side, he watched the creature with narrowed eyes. "What you?" He asked simply, waiting patiently for them to answer. As far as he was concerned, it was information for information and he had answered their question, and now it was their turn.

As the large creature moved towards him, he didn't back away, but keep eyes would notice the slight tense of his muscles, ready to respond if they did something, but for now, he would let them approach.

Wolfhound listened, on the whole. The mostly full attention of all four heads was locked on Rajani, politely (or with interest) listening and watching.

"Tiger?" asked the head that had hardly spoken. It tilted, curiousity writ across its alien face. The venom in its translucent head sloshed a little at the movement. "Is that what you are, or is it your name?"

"We are Wolfhound," Adhara offered up, after a glance to Sirius. "That is the name we have for ourselves. We don't know if that's a 'what' or a 'who,' but I'm Adhara; were you looking for something?" The question wasn't asked in a demanding fashion. If anything, this head seemed kind and concerned for the wet-furred little cub. She'd have liked to give him a better answer, truth be told, but as it so often was in the caves, no one had been there to provide guidance upon their hatching, not past the usual simple information. There'd been no question-and-answer, no instruction pamphlet on how to live, no name given to whatever alien creature their species was. They'd had to fumble their way forward as best they could alone (while together).

The tail behind the hydra swept side-by-side for a moment, a slow swing, as if in thoughtful gesture. Sirius seemed about to speak again, but suddenly that half-feral final head lunged forward, sweeping down, eyes bright with excitement. "I'm Furud! BONE-GNAWER! -We should be FRIENDS!"

"Furud-" "Don't scare him!" "I don't think he'd like to be friends with you..."

"Sirius" "Adhara" "Mirzim" "Furud"
Thoughts.

He raised an eyebrow for a moment, flicking his tail beside him before answering. "Species." He said simply, huffing softly for a moment in slight annoyance, though there was still a hint of curiosity in his gaze. "Name Rajani." They gave their own .... name? And he dipped his head, opening his mouth to simply offer them a 'nice to meet you' before suddenly one of the head lunged at him and he reacted, instantly thinking the large thing was trying to eat him.

It wasn't that he was paranoid per say, but he was small and this thing was so large it could probably kill him by breathing too hard. He wasn't going to take any changes. He let out a deep snarl for such a small body and aimed to swipe at the head's nose, quickly backing up. His hackles raised and he hissed at the head for a moment, tense and waiting to see if it would continue to attack him. He hadn't specifically tried to hurt the creature, still unsure of its intentions, but it was a clear 'back off' for any species.
