In his jaws was clamped the annoying black furball. The insolent cub which wanted to escape and dared to call him names. Now he was the one on top and he would show everyone that he was not to be trifled with! Arkrael had infiltrated his home and stolen his slave... So he would infiltrate her home and show her what happened when you messed with a leader... nay, lord like him. Lord Hasira... That had a nice ring to it. First he needed an army and for idiots like Arkrael to leave him alone. After today he was sure he wouldn't have that problem.

He walked deep into the heart of Eridanus and stopped. The lose bundle in his mouth he dropped to the ground and placed one hoof over it to make sure that it would stay in the spot that he designated. Now his steely eyes gazed around the leafy area, he glared into the undergrowth daring anyone to challenge him. Then, he lifted his head and let out a loud bark that echoed around the area. After a few moments he let out another, this time with words, "Arkrael! Get out here!" His voice was angry, daring her not to obey. If she didn't listen to him he would just stomp on the leopard's neck right here and deliver the gift without her presence.

Her world had been shrouded in darkness and unlike the last time she remembered her world being dark and silent, this one was not so relaxing. It seemed nightmare's plagued the little cub and as she was whisked away by the evil gembound she would occasionally kick out her paws and give few short whines every now and then. When her body crashed into the ground, she was forced awake and a shrill cry escaped Cure as she snapped her eyes open instantly. Pain shot through her spine when the stag's hoof smooshed down against her back and for a moment she began to struggle. She cried and shouted at him, but it only seemed to make it worse so the littl cub finally fell still, stiffling her sobs as her wide, frightened eyes looked around instantly.

She had no idea where she was, or how she even got there, but she definitely had to guess that this stupid deer had brought her here. She flinched when he suddenly barked only to call out someone by the name of Arkrael. Her ears pressed against her skull tightly and she look around desperately. What on Origin was an Arkrael?! Was it another monster stag that wanted to hurt her?! If that was true, then why did Hasira's voice sound so angry? When she heard sudden movement that followed by a ground rumbling snarl, Cure cried out and covered her eyes with her paws. She didn't want to see what could very possibly be her demise.

It had been the same routine for what seemed like weeks now. Searching for others to help her cause, training and honing her own abilities. Anything she could do to help raise her chances of succeeeding in her task. Today, however, would be different. She needed a break. She needed to try to relax if only for one day. She had spent half the day snoozing away near the eyes before waking and going off to hunt for some lunch. Now, with her belly full Arkrael had decided that perhaps a short patrol around Eridanus would be rather relaxing. Making sure all was calm and safe in Eridanus had always seemed to put her in a good mood.

She had made it half way through her normal patrol before she suddenly heard the strangest of sounds. A bark. Loud and...familiar. Her heart thumped, stuttered in it's beat and she froze to her spot as she swung her head around. Audit's perked as she listened for the sound again and just when she thought she had only heard it in her thoughts a voice rung out. Angry and demanding. Ordering her to show herself. Daring her. 'Vazi...' Had it been sooner, had it been closer to the moment he had ultimately left her and promised harm to her, she would have turned and ran. Arkrael would have ran so far the other direction knowing full well she probably would not have been able to handle him. She would have been far to vunerable...

Now, her strong legs tore across the moss covered ground, kicking dirt and moss alike up into the air in her pursuit of the voice that had called out to her. Hackle's raised, bristling the fur half way down her spin as here nose began to wrinkle up into a snarl. Arkrael soon found herself jumping over a fern bush and instantly the fully grown stag came into view. Yet, that had not been the thing her gaze focused on. A cub was under his hoof, pressed into the ground and cowering. A ground shaking snarl ripped from her chest as her tail stood high in the air. She kept her head tall, her fur nearly entirely stood up with the rage she was instantly feeling. "Why are you here Vazi" She spat his name like it was a toxic venom on her tongue.

Arkrael tried not to react to the fact he had a poor cub beneath his hoof. It was probably what he was after. The agonized twist in her chest was completely ignored as she regarded the stag venomously. "I hope you have good reason stepping hoof back into Eridanus, and with a cub no less. Let's just make this easy on both of us..." She snarled, the front of her fangs bared in her threat, "Let it go...". She did not show the panic she was feeling deep inside of her. She feared for the cub's life. She could scent the blood that lightly clung to the leopard and for a moment she wondered just what exactly was he doing with her?

He waited, tattered ears pricking to try and catch the approach of his ex-girlfriend. Yes. He could hear her coming, the undergrowth ripping and tearing as she pounded over to him. His eyes narrowed... The traitor would be here shortly. He could feel the little one squirm beneath him, shouting to be set free but he ignored her. For now she was not his concern, the toxic she-wolf was. His antlers raised tall as he lifted his head, eyes turning in the direction that he heard the thundering snarl from. He could feel some buried instincts quaking in fear at the snarl of the wolf but he forced himself to be still, to glare her straight in the eyes. Instincts were for the weak. They made herbivores turn tail and run. Instincts were to be loathed! They were to be tossed aside! That was what he would tell his army. They needed to be strong.

It was easy to do when he heard the name "Vazi". His eyes opened wide and his permanently snarling face looked even more gruesome as he bellowed out, "MY NAME IS HASIRA! LORD HASIRA! YOU DAMNED WOLF!" He didn't want to hear that name... Vazi had been happy. Vazi had a brother. Vazi had failed... He didn't want to be that anymore. His eyes closed briefly as he gathered himself before continuing on in an even tone. "Call me Vazi once more and I'll snap this cub's spine, followed by your own." He leaned his weight on the cub, hoping to put enough pressure to make her call out in agony just to prove that he was serious.

"I am an herbivore. Therefore, I can tread wherever I please. Including 'your' land. Even though carnivores truly can own nothing." He let out a snort and tossed his antlers in annoyance. "Still, I do have a reason for being here or else I wouldn't want to be anywhere near your accursed pelt." He looked down at her, eyes narrowed in hatred. If he could he would rip her intestines out and eat them! But... no... Calm... He was not a dirty carnivore. He wouldn't soil his insides with meat.

He was better than that.

"My slave, my Beast, is missing. All over my territory I smell the dirty scent of carnivores... You know what that makes me think?" He paused for a moment, looking down at the dark back of the leopard. An insane light flickering in his eyes as he contemplated killing her now just for sport. It would show her for daring to send her flunkies to kidnap his pet. "That makes me think that you sent your dirty friends into my realm to steal my servant. Why shouldn't I think that? You sent Leon did you not? You thought he would kill me, didn't you? You wanted this," He looked up and turned his head so that the wolfess could better see his burned and horrid scars. "To happen! Didn't you, foul beast? Well, guess what!? Leon failed... I still live and now... I will not tolerate your stinking carnivores in my land again..." He grinned now, his snarling scar making him appear particularly cruel.

"Why don't you ask me about this? Go ahead, ask? Or else I might just..." He leaned his weight on the cub again mercilessly, intent on killing her if Arkrael didn't speak up.

He reacted before her, spilling out his rage for the name she had used for him. She could have smirked, rubbed it in his nose by calling him Vazi again, but when he threatened to snap the cub's spine if she so dared use that name one more time and she refrained from it. Every instinct told her to react, to attack the stag threatening to kill the child, but insecurity kept her in her spot. Would she even reach him in time before he stomped down and crushed the poor child's spine? She couldn't risk that, not yet. She had to be patient, to work through her thoughts and figure out how to get him away from the cub. She knew he would force her to attack him. There was just no other outcome from this exchange.

Every last fang within her jowls were exposed the moment Vazi began to claim he was allowed anywhere and she was not even worthy of 'owning' her own land. She did not own Eridanus. She merely took up the spot of overseeing it. Guarding it from the evil that threatened to harm anything and anyone. Much like the stag in front of her. She was sworn to protect all, especially the children. It had been something she had promised her hatchmate and even though Tamelyn had vanished, Arkrael would still uphold her promise. Even if that meant she must face head on the man that had stolen her heart and ultimately destroyed it. She nearly flinched when the Cub cried out in pain when Vazi pushed down even harder as he continued to speak. "I sent no one into your filthy realm!" She snapped aggressively at his accusation. "And I certainly would not have sent Leon after you!" Another snarl ripped out from her chest as she shifted how she was standing into a more defensive stance.

She would have never sent anyone after him. It was no one's burden but her own to face the stag. It was her one task. Her one thing she would have to accomplish on her own. Her army was only there to defend against the followers Vazi may be able to recruit and she hoped that would not be very many. She wanted to tell him that. To tell him that she would be the one to end his insanity. She would end the chaos he was ensuing through the caves with his toxic hate of carnivores. Inwardly she flinched when he exposed his burned wounds to her and she especially ignored the part of her that cried out and hurt just by looking at the wounds. She had to remind herself that he had deserved it. For whatever reason that caused the fight between him and Leon, it was his fault. Her ears pinned back when he finally spoke of the cub beneath his hoof. "Why do you have the cub, Hasira. What do you plan to do to her..." She hated that she had to give into him, but when he had leaned harder into the cub and the baby had cried out even louder with pain she could not deny him.

She had to get the child free from his grasp, but she was at a loss on how to do so in that moment. So, for now she would continue to bate him, to make him believe she was giving into him and keep him talking while she began to figure out in her mind just how she was going to free the poor thing. "Please...stop hurting her. She has done nothing... She's just a baby v- Hasira..." Her voice finally cracked, almost pleading him to remove the pressure from the cub's back. Whether it was her trying to feign it or not, she hoped he would not catch on. In all honesty, that deeper part of her sobbed. Shook her nerves from the inside and it was all she could do to keep her eyes welling up with tears.

She'd sent no one? That was a load of crock! It had to have been her! Who else would waltz all over his territory? No one! He'd marked the place with his scent and with scores from his antlers! All of her other filthy kind would know to stay away from him! No! No! She was lying! "Lies! That is all you filthy mongrels do is lie! You lied about loving me! Lied about caring for Wynry..." His voice caught in his throat when he said his brother's name aloud. It still pained him to this very day. Arkrael had dared let that three-headed demon get away. He could have killed him but the stupid she-wolf had to intervene! It was her fault! All her fault! He should kill her right now! End her! Rip her-- No... No... He had to keep calm. He'd come here for a reason...

Her time would come but it was not today.

He ended the pressure on the cub's back when Arkrael complied. Good. Obedience. He liked obedience. He smiled, almost pleasantly, as he looked at the one before him. "She's here to make sure that I have your attention. Whether you will admit it or not your stinking flunkies have been trampling all over my land... They took my Beast as I said before... I want it stopped." His voice, despite the smile, was icy and completely serious. "This is where she comes in as well. If you do not have your carnivores removed from my lands I will kill her... nice and slow... piece by piece." He paused to give a laugh as if it were a cruel joke. "I'll leave a tail here, a paw there... I'll keep doing so until every scent is gone. If you don't comply and there's nothing left of her, well, I'll just find someone else to make an example of. There are plenty of stupid cubs running around here for me to grab." He had wanted a slave but now... no. Now, he would use her as long as he could until she lacked enough paws to walk around with.

He tilted his head at her pleading words, eyes narrowed as he tried to decipher if she was truly moved or just trying to fool him. "Please... How polite. I like politeness from carnivores... anything less is insolence and insolence must be punished." His steely gray eyes blinked as he straightened his head up. "I am not hurting her... You are. You and your stinking carnivores. If you leave my land I promise that this one will be treated fairly. I treat my servants well... Well, as well as any carnivore should be treated." He lowered his head and rubbed his nose on top of the leopard cub's head and then ran his tongue over her snout almost lovingly. "After all, she was in my lands and she is my property... I do not wish to destroy my property. You just force me to." He lifted his head and smiled down at her. Certain that he was in control here.

"Now, will the issue of stink in my land be resolved? Or shall I have to leave you gifts of cub pieces in your land?"

Arkrael's eyes narrowed when Vazi had accused her of lies. Called her kind mongrels and then he went one step forward. He struck her hard. Her chest constricted and it was as if her very breath had been knocked out of here. Heer gaze turned completely hurt, mixed with a furious glint as she stared at him in the utmost disbelief. "I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU!" She suddenly roared, unable the control her sudden eruption of emotions. She choked as she stared at him as she began to struggle with her inner emotions. She still loved him. There was nothing she could do to fix that. He would forever own her heart and soul, and she hated it. She hated the hold he held on her even now. Even as he stepped down threatening to kill an innocent child she loved him. It was sickening. She shook her head, desperate to clear her eyes of the tears that were fighting hard to fill her eyes.

He smiled at her and Arkrael could only respond with a flash of her fangs. She did not trust his smile, did not want to know why he would offer such an expression to her. His words filled her ears and she listened to his demands. She would not be able to make him believe that the carnivores that resided in Orion were not part of what she was gathering. She had not gone to any of the ones in Orion. Made absolutely sure not to. That was too risky. There was nothing she could do but go along with what he assumed. "I will call them away from Orion..." She grunted, her voice still a little shaky from her previous out burst, but she otherwise didn't allow anything else to stutter her voice. She did not want to eeven think about how she would feel should she come across a dismembered body piece of a cub he had so mercilessly slaughtered just to spite her.

How badly she wanted to call him a coward for harming a child, but she knew that would only make things worse so she kept her thoughts to herself. As his words soon claimed it was her fault he was harming the child she flinched, furrowing her brows almost as if her inner being believed it. As he continued talking he gave her a moment to regain herself and she bared her fangs when he claimed the baby belonged to him. Again he questioned her "They will be gone. I will have them removed very soon...." She began as she lowered her head and curled her tongue over the front of her fangs in a threatening gesture.

Her eyes flashed dangerous and within a matter of seconds her gem upon her chest suddenly flashed brightly, humming and vibrating loudly against her. "BUT YOU WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT!" She suddenly roared deafeningly. Almost instantly the ground around her began to shake violently. Rocks and dirt alike began to jump and toss around from the ground in the quake. Arkrael took no hesitance. She lunged at the deer as the attack hopefully knocked the stag off balance and with jowl's wide open she went in for the attack, fangs snapping violently as they sought to sink into any part of Vazi they could get a hold of.

The words hit him hard? She'd loved him? Then why had she let the three-headed one escape? Then why had she allowed Wynry to die? Why had she distracted him and kept him from his duties? Perhaps if his heart hadn't twisted and died long ago her words would have had some impact. Perhaps it would have made him rethink what he was doing. Alas, he had long ago lost his ability to feel. The only thing he had was the regret, sadness, and hate that burned in his cold lump of a heart. True love didn't belong there anymore...

He stared her down, still feeling dominant and in control. Stupid wolf... These carnivores would do anything to protect their own. Even if it meant betraying the ones that they "loved". Hmph. Only herbivores knew what true love was. Not this filthy cur. "Good. Have them gone within a week's time or else I start taking apart this cub." His hoof remained on her, not willing to lift it lest she flee. First he needed a hold which he had to take his eyes away from the wolf to do. His mouth clamped around her scruff...

That was a mistake.

Too late he heard the she-wolf's thundering words. It caused the hairs along his spine to stand on end with fear. He tried to jerk his head up to intercept whatever it was she was going to do but he found himself knocked off balance by a sudden shaking in the ground. He gave a bellow of alarm as he found himself stumbling to and fro like a drunken person, unable to get a purchase on the heaving earth. However, through it all he kept his hoof pressed firmly on the cub's back... It was only when he felt a jarring weight in his shoulder that he was pushed away from the cub.

Arkrael was on him.

He could feel blood well out of the new wound on his shoulder. Reflexively he slashed his tines downwards but not out of any real want to hit her, just pure instincts... And hadn't he wanted to get away from instincts before? He could feel his gem, now red, start to react as he pulled on his magick in an attempt to attack her. The air around them began to cool, water droplets starting to form into chunks of sharp ice. Before long pointed icicles formed and began to rain down towards the wolf.

The battle was on.

It had worked. The stag tossed and fell off balance as her quake rippled across the ground. Soon her next attack struck him, knocking Vazi away from the cub as he fangs managed to get a bite in. He bellowed at her, slashing his tines down towards her and with a snarl Arkrael shoved herself away from him. Her paws thudded hard against the ground and she skidded back from the force. Hackles continue to bristle, her lips peeling back in a furious snarl to expose her now blood stained fangs. It wasn't until a sharp chunk of something suddenly fell down along her side, slicing into her shoulder and shattering against the ground did Arkrael realize an attack had been thrown at her. Her head swung up to see the rest of the icicles falling straight for her.

Arkrael crouched low instantly, lowering her head to make sure nothing hit her neck. Her eyes narrowed and just as they drew dangerously close she quickly jumped to the side. She waited no second longer before she was lunging at the stag once more. Willing her magic to do as she bid once more. Her thoughts trailed to the cub, wondering if she had moved and found her way to safety, but she could not focus on that. She had to focus completely on the stag before her. She had to protect this child. Had to convince Vazi he was no match for her and that he needed to flee from her. She didn't want to harm him. Did not wish to cause major damage to him whatsoever. She just couldn't. Not yet in that moment she couldn't. Her heart was thudding wildly, tearing itself apart with every focused attack she planned within her thoughts.

The ground beneath the stags hooves once again began to shake and tremble. Only this time the stone and moss began to crack and splinter, breaking apart beneath him and she prayed it would be more than enough this time. With only a small bit of hesitance, Arkrael lunged at his hind leg this time, jowls snapping and aiming to catch hold of the stag in hopes that, if the breaking ground beneath his feet did not throw him off balance, then this would help. Blood pooled and oozed from the newly formed gash across her left shoulder. The shoulder that had at one point been injured before. By the same three-headed beast Vazi had accused of killing Wynry. Only this time it crossed the path of those teeth marks and smooth ripped line, creating a jagged X along her flesh.

It was all ignored, no pain seemed to be even remotely noticed. Arkrael could only have guessed it was because of the adrenaline pumping through her, but it was cast aside. She knew she would be feeling it later. And more than just that. She knew this fight would be the start of a war. This would settle it. No matter who one this scuffle here, the outcome would be the same. She would end all of this. It wouldn't happen now, but she knew deep down she would eventually have to. If she were to protect the caves and the innocent gembounds from the ruthlessness of this stag... she was going to have to kill him...

The icicles crashed down, slicing the wolfess across the shoulder. Hasira felt no satisfaction though, he only felt rage burning through his form. How dare she attack him? He should have known better. Carnivores are never to be trusted. They never played fair. Them with their damned fangs and their tricky, traitorous natures! He'd been fair, he wasn't going to kill the stupid cub so long as she played ball! And yet, she wanted to be stupid and attack him. Well, he wasn't going to stand for it! He would rip her apart here and now! Then, once they saw their precious leader was dead the other carnivores would no longer stay in his territory. He wouldn't need that stupid cub anymore! Not as a bargaining chip. No. She would just be his slave, as all carnivores should be...

The ground began to shake and tear apart beneath him, more of Arkrael's foul powers. These were dirty tactics to try and trip him up... and they were working. His hooves became unsteady beneath his body and they clattered against the broken earth as they tried to get purchase. A moment before he would have gained his footing the devil-wolf lunged at him again and grabbed his rear hoof, knocking him to the ground. His forelegs beneath him. Angrily, he began to thrash with his rear legs hoping to knock her away. While he did this he reached for his magick in hopes to summon it to him.

He could feel it working, pulling away the water but he wouldn't just let it dissipate like normal. He instead would hold this water in the atmosphere around him for use later.

Hasira vs Arkrael
Round II of V
