It's about time Rae finally got her own group. As some of you may recall, Quix and I had began fleshing out ideas. So here it is.
The Guardians
For far to long things have gone unchecked. Evil has been allowed to roam rampart without consequence. It is time for the Guardian's to rise up and help keep the balance of things in Origin. One wolf calls upon those closest to her, calls upon those who wish to be apart of something good and desire to protect those within the caves from the assaults of those who would rather see to their destruction.
Guardian's goal: The Guardians primarily a family made up of individuals skilled in different aspects, formed for the purpose of promoting balance in Origin. Gembounds who join The Guardians may forge allegiances and relations so that they may depend upon one another in times of need and protect each other fiercely. Apart from being a family, The Guardian's secondary goal is to function as a mediator, or overseer, such that information/reports may be disseminated to different groups throughout the land, and that the different groups on Origin may have opportunities to interact with one another.
The Guardians will become a powerful entity and members will be close knit, while each division will be skilled and competent, hence justifying the 4 stages a recruit would have to go through before being being able to play a pivotal part in the group. The Guardians will not attempt to lord over anyone nor pry into individual groups unless something fishy is going on. It will be a neutral group, and intervene only if Origin is unbalanced e.g. its Guard division would not be activated unless necessary if war breaks out or a crazy NPC unleashes mess onto Origin.
Location: Eridanus. They will have meetings by the Eyes.
Colors: Gold and Green
The 3 divisions:
1. The Scholars – Tasked with investigations, scouting missions and reports, the Scholars are wise and agile, quick on their feet and armed with wits. They may endure travelling the distance to seek out new knowledge or mingle around with the civilians to gain different perspectives. Not confined to their scripts, Scholars train both body and mind, and may sway the decision of the Alphas in everyday matters. They are the mediators and problem-solvers, front-line peacekeepers and investigators where violence is not needed.
2. The Guards – Armed with physical and/or magical power, Guards have great control over body and/or soul. Their strength may not lie in their knowledge of current affairs, but are expected to judge situations with wisdom, be prudent in action and have magical and/or physical capabilities. Reasonably skilled in battle and tasked with the duty of protecting civilians, they are expected to be ready to meet danger head on and use their might for the greater good. Common everyday duties involve protecting The Guardian's territory, or accompanying the artisans and scholars on tasks given by the Guardian's Leaders or Origin quests.
3. The Artisans – Artisans are masters of their craft and are tasked with innovation and devotion of their skills for the betterment of those around them. Almost any skill is accepted, as long as it is edifying to the Guardians and may perhaps benefit civilians. Armour crafting, healing, hunting, fortune-telling etc. Have a character that can produce lots of rainbow poop that sparkle for aesthetics? Count yourself in. Artisans stand as equals to Guards and Scholars – their strength lies in innovation, individuality and interdependence. They may be loosely classified as mercenaries but are greatly respected for they do not exist for profit, instead they use their abilities to make individual contributions to the Guardians and/or Origin.
Those with healing abilities are also considered part of this division.
Sorting: A character may specialize in a maximum 2 of these areas in title (primary & secondary duty), but are free to contribute to all 3 areas. Each duty = 3x tasks, so the total would be 6x tasks - just to ensure that the character truly is capable of both. It has to be done ICly. It is advised to stick to a primary duty for a minimum of 2 weeks before opting for a second one (:. For each new member there will be an initiation ceremony. The entire group will gather and a feast will be had. During the initiation, the recruitee will meet with all the other members within the group, as well as get to know the Heirarchy's. It will also be in this moment that the recruited gembound will decide which division they would most like to be in. They will partner with the hierarchy of that particular division and go forth to Arkrael where she will create for you your respective item to show your position. However if there is not a hierarchy in your division then it will be Arkrael or one of the founding members that you will meet up with and give your decision to.
Hierarchy: General ranks may be contested for in the event of inactivity without reason, or in-character treason etc, or past 2 months irl since the gembound's appointment. General ranks will be, by default, uncontested for 2 months upon a character receiving this rank.
Joining & Rising in rank: Unsorted members will be classified as Recruits till they pass initiation! Prior to proposing initiation, each member has to complete 3 (simple) tasks allocated via the Alpha, or the general of the division they'd like enter. Example of a task could be scouting Tunnel J and bringing back a report. The initiation will be the 4th and final task to be considered a full-fledged member and it will be more customized (and thrilling). Recruits requesting initiation should be capable of basic communication and bodily functions. Mentors are welcome to train recruits.
Rank levels: Depending on which category you have enlisted your gembound into, there will be three ranks of which they can rise in within that single division. Each having their own requirements to pass on to the next level. To rise up in your levels there are certain tasks required, and/or a certain amount of things that have been completed that will automatically cause you to rise in level. Normally it is the job of the two commanders of your particular division that will see to it you properly rise in level. Upon entering the third and final level, you will be qualified to participate in an event that will allow you to attempt rising to the General position of your division. Be it as an Epsilon, Ultori, or as a Vayza
Founders of The Guardians, i.e. the first batch to join, will not require performing 3 tasks or initiation for their primary duty, and will be sorted into the three divisions automatically. They will however, have to perform the required tasks to begin their journey into a secondary duty should they choose to take one on.
Aesthetics: All successful initiates will received a bead-sized gemstone to signify them being a full-fledged, integral part of The Guardians, typically in the form of a gem type jewelry item of their choosing created by Arkrael herself(be it a necklace, tail band, bracelet, etc.). Depending on the character's primary rank the item they receive upon passing their initiation will be of certain colors.(These colors will be fleshed out soon)
Term: Civilian = This term is used to refer to the general population of Origin who exist in it like everyday folk/recruits.
Large-scale event: Gathering of groups: The Guardians may call for a meeting when major events happen, thus facilitating the gathering of all Origin groups. Delegates would be requested to participate. This will benefit everyone as information is shared. Will gossip, rumors, strife or friendship and bonds be forged?
Guardian-based events: Feasts, hunts, investigations, raids, armor crafting, thrilling personalized initiation ceremonies with characters who join and mindfulness towards members (Arkrael will be vigilant of her members and may request for a thread once in a while to catch up with them!), in-character rewards e.g. trinkets, out-of-character awards e.g. table-avie set, and more ideas to come - there will be continual action and character development. Think of it as a guild-like system which rewards activity!
The Heirarchy
Ulfric and Lupa
The two positions that reign supreme over all else within the group. In these positions the Founder and gembounds share their ranks, guiding and maintaining the group as they see fit. Each one makes decisions on how they feel things should be handled, but they will always convene with the other when it is regarding a more serious issue or situation has been presented to them. No one has yet to stake claim to the position of Ulfric, while Arkrael has claimed the spot of Lupa. They command as a team, working together to make sure things run smoothly and all. The spot for Ulfric will be open to anyone who will be of interest, but they cannot obtain it unless they have a very strong bond with Arkrael. It does not have to be a romantic bond. I can very well be the bond of very close friends, etc, etc.
Epsilons(Ep-sill-ons)
This position contains only the most highly regarded of gembound. Those who have proven their loyalty and abilities to the group. They are the master Guard's. The two leaders of all who list themselves as the Guards within The Guardian's. These two are responsible for training and preparing the other gembounds to become the best Guard any gembound could be. They are skilled in their work, great warriors who can masterfully plan and plot out any offense or defense depending on the situation they are in.
Ultori(ul-tor-eye)
The wisest of Scholars. Two positions contain those who know the most of all Origin. They have proven their merit. Their primary tasks will be to take charge of those who wish to fall in line with the Scholars and teach them all they know. From the art of scouting while being unseen all the way down to negotiations that would ultimately keep the peace and null out the thread of potential violence. They will mentor the new recruits until they feel the recruit is ready to rise above their starting position. They can also delegate to another Scholar to mentor a recruit should they have their hands full already. They are also the main two that Scholars will come to with information and will then pass on the information to the Lupa and Ulfric.
Vayza(Vay-zuh)
Master Craftsman. Two positions will be for the ones who have mastered their talent. They will be expected to work with the other gembounds and train them in skills that will help the others bloom into their very own style of craft. They can have as many students as they wish to mentor, but if they find themselves overwhelmed they can seek help from the third level crafters to help guide the initiates. When tasks are called for, it is these two that will be called upon and given the task. They will then delegate these tasks to the lower levels of their division and oversee that the orders are completed. Of course they are most certainly allowed to fill in the order themselves, or help a lower level finish their item should they need it. HOWEVER, there will be a THIRD position solely left open for a master healer.
