GRASSY
Being a tiny thing was not an easy life. Nestled dangerously close to the riverbed, a tiny egg was growing-- it was barely bigger than a fist, spared only in the fact that it was near to the Spire. Had it not been for a giant ape, the golems would have likely stolen the chrysalis from its spot a cycle ago and turned into a crypt instead of a budding seed. As it was, the gem had finally hit its full size and the creature inside was ready to pop out.
It took some work, yes, but despite her small size the tiny noodle managed to make a hole in the gem. Slowly but surely the tiny blade of grass wiggled free from her shell and gaze about the world with her bright yellow stare. Everything was decidedly very blue-- and there was not another blade of grass in sight. Huffing and sticking out a pale tongue, the sprout wriggled down to the ground and began to creep along the shoreline. Surely there would be grass where there was water? She just had to find her kin, and then she would be happy.
Be like the single blade of grass. For she too, has been trampled on, mowed down, and hit with such bitterly cold stretches that she had to shut down to survive. Yet still she stands upright with dignity, knowing that she endures... and still she dances with the wild wind.

What the tiny snake did not realize, however, was that she was heading right towards some golems. Although the creatures were often chased away from the Spire-- or smashed into pieces-- they stalked the river with surprising greed. A small golem was walking right towards Grassy, though it hadn't noticed her yet. If she was lucky, maybe she would only get stepped on, instead of having her gem ripped from her body!
Still, perhaps someone would like to save the itsy bitsy hatchling before disaster strikes.

GRASSY
Grassy was a simple creature. Almost as simple as the golem lumbering ever closer. The stones stepped heavily, shaking the earth, but for the snake she thought it was only natural. Things walked on the ground all the time. Her tiny golden eyes peered up at the approaching thing, wondering what it was doing.
It was about then that the snake realized that the golem was getting dangeorusly close. Letting out a "MEEP!" of surprise, the tiny noodle tried to wiggle around the footsteps of the dangerously big thing.
Be like the single blade of grass. For she too, has been trampled on, mowed down, and hit with such bitterly cold stretches that she had to shut down to survive. Yet still she stands upright with dignity, knowing that she endures... and still she dances with the wild wind.

Although the golem was small compared to most, it was a real hazard for the baby snake. It had heard the gemstone cracking and it was drawn towards the noise, feeling the hint of magic in the air. As the snake meeps and tries to dodge around it, the golem notices the gem on her back and reaches down like one would to pick up a worm.

Diot was wandering as any spirit of the forests did. Tending to the native plants and observing the ever dangerous golems who were still foreign to him. Where did they come from? He hadn't a clue, perhaps they arrived just as any other gembound; through an abiogenesis event. What was their purpose? Well that remained to be seen, though from what he knew they definitely weren't making a good impression. Grabbing at any native fauna in sight, trampling the very foliage that housed them. Tsk,tsk naughty golems.
With satchel on hand he gathered a small and delicate crystals, some seemingly native to Polaris itself. Though his gathering was cut short. A small but loud meep of exclamation was carried on the wind. Swirling with rising panic from the sound of it too. Curiosity piqued he took off towards the sound, shoving the items haphazardly into his bag. Making his way through a mounds of crystals he came upon a sight that was not one he had hoped for. A small snake and a small child like golem in a dangerous altercation!
He had attempted to call up nature, through his nerves must have rattled any grasp he had built. Mind racing Diot took out a crystal from his bag and without thinking clearly he threw it straight towards the golem. Hoping to get its attention.

GRASSY
Oh nooo, the big thing had grabbed her! She didn't know if she should meep louder or what, but the tiny bit of grass knew that she was in a bad spot. The giant stone's grip was strong, pressing down on her body uncomfortably...
Her body began to wriggle. She had to escape, get out somehow! She noticed another wayward giant and hoped he would help her-- but she didn't have the time to call for help. She had to escape!
Suddenly her body fell out of the grip of the giant stone and she plopped on to the ground. Dizzy from the fall, she let out a quiet, "meep," as she got readjusted to being all the way down under the giants.
Be like the single blade of grass. For she too, has been trampled on, mowed down, and hit with such bitterly cold stretches that she had to shut down to survive. Yet still she stands upright with dignity, knowing that she endures... and still she dances with the wild wind.

A crystal flew at the golem and immediately the creature forgot the snake in its grip. It snatches up the gemstone instead and inspects it for a moment with its eyeless face. Although it does not drop the stone, it does seem to forget that it is holding it as it stands at full height once again. The stone creature takes a steady step forward, walking past Grassy to lumber in a direction vaguely towards Diot now.

With relief he watched the young tiny snake escape listening to it releasing a small meep. It seemed ok, attempting to blend in beneath what supposed giants everyone probably was. Either way his focus went back to the golem. It stood there examining the small crystal with its eyeless face. Diot was a bit curious as to why they were so hungry for such trinkets. To even go so far as to rip them from living beings. Well that didn't matter now, especially since it was aimlessly walking towards him!
Eyes wide he attempted to keep cool, reaching in his bag with eyes still on the approaching golems. Yet he couldn't find any of the crystals he had collected! Come on! Really!?

GRASSY
Deciding that the fluffy giant was definitely a friend and someone who she could trust-- he had thrown that gem to protect her, hadn't he? The tiny blade of grass wriggled over to him and started to snake up his leg, letting out tiny meeps as she went.
"Meep... Meep... Meep... Run?" A single different word escaped her tiny mouth, though she said it with what might have been mistaken for a frankly dimwitted smile. It was a simple suggestion, most words and certainly full sentences failing her in her young mind. She curled up in the monkey's soft fur and waited, watching the golem get ever closer.
Be like the single blade of grass. For she too, has been trampled on, mowed down, and hit with such bitterly cold stretches that she had to shut down to survive. Yet still she stands upright with dignity, knowing that she endures... and still she dances with the wild wind.

The golem lumbers closer but stops-- it apparently isn't close enough to notice either gembounds, or perhaps it has gotten bored. It seems to consider which way it wants to go now, turning to the sound of churning stone.
Seemingly at random, however, it starts to move again. It is closing in on Diot now, and if the gembound doesn't move, the golem will surely walk right into the gembound and probably attack once more.
