Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
It was an ordinary scene in Canis, the sound of water dripping from the roof into small pools on the floor echoing with every splash around the relatively small room. There was the everpresent and near silent rattle of bones being pushed to and fro by insignificant creatures not worthy of consciousness. It was here, in this den of death that new life would emerge. Already, the tiny squash colored chrysalis which had taken root in some alien beast's rib cage had started to tremble. Over time the life inside of it had grown, causing the crystal itself to expand, the rate of change slow enough to not break the ribs but force them to part at an unnatural angle.
It was this chrysalis which soon became the newest source of ruckus inside of the boneyard. Loud crackles bounced throughout the chamber in nauseating echoes. Ruptures began to form across the once seamless stone, the bone that clutched this amber rock began to fracture itself as the effects of time and the warping from this crystal as it grew took effect. A gargantuan rib snapped, tumbling onto a skull with a dull thud. Fragments of orange mineral dropped onto the stone floor, with many small clinking sounds as they bounced until coming to rest. A tiny ear flicked out of the largest crevice atop the cocoon, the life inside of this stone being disturbed by the terrific noise accompanying its birth. Larger cracks began to blossom, and bigger chunks of crystal sheared off and crashed onto the floor. A fuzzy ball of life was now visible in this open shell, curled up like a caramel bean. When there was not enough material left to support him, the poor squeaker was forced to face the world as he clumsily tumbled to his feet.
The sound of growling echoed throughout the boneyard as a tiny puppy sat chewing on an ancient bone. This was one of his favorite places to be. It was like a gigantic room of chew toys! It was a miracle he hadn't accidentally guzzled a chicken bone and choked himself!
The bone in his mouth was thoroughly chewed and inches away from being broken. It was only naturally that when the puppy suddenly shook his head and released the bone that it shattered upon crashing into a wall. Well, that was the end of that bone... He just had to get another one!
Green eyes searched around for a new bone to destroy when he heard something with his large ears. He stopped in his tracks with head tilting to the side as he tried to pinpoint the location of the sound. Should he run? Or should he go to the sound? He decided upon the latter as he could always run away if something bad happened.
With tail wagging --it didn't hurt to look friendly-- the pup wandered over towards the sound and peeked from behind a bone-hill. What he saw was a tiny little... thing... What was that? A newborn, yes, but what sort of animal? Curiosity took him as he came closer with that contagious smile upon his maw and finally he said, "Hey there, friend! Didja just hatch? What's your name? I'm Pharoah!" His tongue lolled out of his still smiling mouth while he watched the newborn.

The squeaker pressed his nose against the new arrival, snorting loudly as he tried to figure out what this beast was. His snout was already moist, strange considering he hadn't licked it since he arrived into the world literally seconds ago. The tiny creature repeatedly headbutted the older and slightly larger gembound, trying to push it away from the spot that belonged to the piggy by birthright. "Hey! This is mine! Hey! Hey!" Squeaked the orange-eyed boar in an obnoxiously shrill voice.
Small hooves clopped against the stone, repeatedly searching for better traction as he tried and failed to shove the dog. Ultimately these attempts were ended by a small hoof stepping on an amber shard from the chrysalis that had sheltered him. With a resounding "Oof!" the squeaker was sent toppling onto the ground with his four legs splayed in each direction.
His words were completed ignored, the questions seemed to flow right in one ear of the creature and straight out to the other side. The little hatchling ran right up to him and started shoving his nose into his fur and trying to headbutt him. If this thing was any older than a hatchling then it might have knocked over the small pup but as it was Pharoah was able to stand up to the abuse. He even managed to do so with patience... or so it seemed on the outside. On the inside the pup was actually starting to get a bit annoyed with the treatment. How was anything the newborn's? He was just hatched! If anything this place should belong to him for he was older and --for now-- stronger.
But, in favor of creating allies and not enemies the pup said, "Hey hey, no need to worry. I'm not trying to take... yours... I just wanted to say hello and welcome you to the world. I find that it's nice to welcome you newborns to the caves." The words flowed easily out of his mouth and he relished it.
Before he could say much more the tiny creature fell onto his side after stepping on a piece of shattered gem. Now was his chance! "Look, I think we got off on the wrong paw. Why don't you just tell me your name? Maybe we can be friends?" While he said this he walked right up to the little one's side and began to gentle nudge him with his nose in an effort to help him to his hooves.

The boar did his best to give a warcry, a sadly adorable oink was all that could be mustered. Doing the best, most noble, and most intimidating pose the foot tall pig could manage he revealed himself. "Boaris. That's my name! It's mine!" He stamped his hooves, showing his readiness to fight for the right to the name that in another universe would have been considered a joke played by the gods who conceptualized this poor beast.
"Hatch? Yes I did! See this? It's mine!"The squeaker refused to pause at any moment in his shrill pips that he called talking. He kicked the remnants of the orange crystal behind him to signify what was his in this world. The tiny fuzzball couldn't stand still for a second, lifting his hooves and stomping them down repeatedly in different positions as he constantly aligned himself to look up at the dog in some sort of odd dance.
He didn't say they could be friends but that was alright, at least he finally gave a name! "Boaris it is then! And, that's right. It's your name! All yours!" He nodded his head and smiled, agreeing and hoping that his words would placate the beast. The small boar did little to impress the pup, if anything the puppy was growing bored with the piglet's incessant need to claim everything as "his"... but whatever, he could be patient and he could play the part of a friend.
"Yup! That's yours too! It's very lovely, a very pretty crystal." Perhaps that would appease him as well. The puppy continued to watch the small thing as it... began to dance? His head tilted to the side as he observed the dancing piglet. Should he be doing that too? Was it some sort of friendship dance? Not wanting to offend the dog began stomping his tiny paws down in different positions as well, doing his best to mimic the piglet. "What is this?" He asked, tilting his nose to indicate his and Boar's feet as they moved about in their little rhythm.

Seeing this display, the stranger aggressively --In the Boar's perception-- claiming this area for himself, the squeaker let out an enraged squeal. Digging his hoof into the stone, kicking up dust, he charged forth at the slightly larger hound. With a loud "Oof!" Boaris flung his small but hefty body into the opposition. There was no grace or definitive victory in the impact, as the pig was cast off his clumsy feet and knocked himself over as well as the canine foe. Still, there was satisfaction in the oinker's orange eyes as he was collapsed on the floor in a pile of bones and pebbles.
"This is mine! Not yours!" Huffed the shrilly voiced fuzzball, attempting to sound more dangerous than either his size or his tone were capable of producing. "You don't get to claim it!" Boaris attempted to get back on his hooves, knees buckling with adrenaline and exhaustion from the minor amount of exercise they were exposed to. Sadly this was a wasted effort, as any traction gained was lost by scrabbling limbs that sent the whole boy tumbling back down.

Lon hadn't been out of her stone much longer, and she wasn't even sure where she was. Her paws carrying her forwards, or, what she believed was forwards, blindly, she continued to make her way towards wherever her destination was.
The sound of a voice made her stop, the lion cub unknowingly using her spell; not that she knew what it was, at the moment. With the slight tingle of something in the air, the presence of others slowly made themselves known. So, there were other around. two, seemingly. Lon couldn't tell much else past that.
Making her way deeper into the room, she paused, ears flicking as she called out into the darkness, for whatever was there.
He couldn't understand it, he was putting on his best show and trying to be nice but it just seemed that everything he tried with the boar backfired. This time it seemed to fail spectacularly! Before he could say "what" the boar was charging and throwing himself at the little dog with his full body in a charge. He could hardly even prepare himself for the blow as he was forcibly shoved backwards and off of his paws. The little canine was unharmed and mostly his feelings and dignity were hurt. How dare that pig tackle him?! No one had ever dared do such a thing before in his very short life!
Stiff-legged, he rose back to his paws and began to growl. "There's no need to be--" "Hello?" His words were interrupted by a new sound, a rather feminine and young sounding voice. Could someone else be here to help him? Hmm...
He stared at the piglet and then glanced backwards towards the newcomer, a plan forming in his mind. If he couldn't have the piglet as an ally --and really who would with his seeming lack of brain power?-- then he'd just have to try elsewhere. "Stay back! It's dangerous!" He barked at the feline. Even with his small legs he was able to cross the distance and stand protectively in front of her, looking for all the world like he was going to keep her safe from the boar. "Oh no, you shouldn't be here! This savage pig! He's... He's been trying to kill me!" What better way to win over a lady's heart than by protecting her from the savage beast? "But... I... I'll try to keep us safe, okay?" He grinned fearlessly at her, unknowing of her blindness, before turning his attention back to the boar which he now snarled at.
Gee... he really hoped he could do something against it. It was small so odds were that he should be able to ward it off.

The porker reeled back at the appearance of this ghastly apparition, this eyed-but-not-eyed horror. Doing another skittish dance, panic flowing through his veins and resonating with the magicka inside him. Wherever his tiny hooves tapped the ground, meadow mushrooms sprouted. Some of them were an appreciable size, four inches at the tallest which were nearly at the pig's knees. This continued for several seconds as the panicked boar tried to figure out what to do with himself, until he backed himself up into the remnants of his chrysalis.
A field of white caps separated the blind beast and the horrible hound from the fuzzball. "Not fair! This is mine! Pharoah can't bring monsters!" He oinked indignantly, sitting in the partial cover of his squash-toned crystal fortress. He didn't know what a savage was, but he doubted he was one if it was what the dog called him."I can't be Savage, Boaris is my name! Savage is your word! It's not mine! I don't want it!"
