A new thing had popped up within her home and on that principle alone she was obligated to check it out. Of course, she wasn't stupid the little mongoose knew that with a new addition to their territory there could be danger. She could be as sneaky as she wanted but if things went sour and she needed backup then some brawn was required. Fortunately the Merrymen were not short on brawn.

After she had examined the pit from afar --certain that she could pick out a couple of shinies amongst the sleeping creatures-- she wasted no time in finding The Fire. She knew that the rhino's name was now "Nemesis" but for some reason The Fire sounded more appropriate to her. The rhino certainly resembled a blaze, mowing down everything in her path and roaring out challenges to trespassers so she would forevermore have the nickname of "Fire" with the red mongoose.

It wasn't hard finding the rhino and after a hasty explanation about something new that they needed to investigate she hopped onto the rhino's gem and pointed her out in the direction they needed to go. Normally the tiny queen would lounge across the gem comfortably but not today. Her blood was boiling, pulsing with adrenaline as she thought of raiding the pit to get the treasures from within. She was born to raid new places and steal treasures within, it was her life!

While she sat on the rhino's gem, fondling the spear at her waste, she began to brief the rhino on what was to happen. "Lissen, when we get to the pit we hafta be quiet, alright? No stompin', no yellin', no nothin'. Silence. I'll climb down the pit with the help 'a my spear here." Who knew this thing would come in handy with climbing? She certainly didn't when she obtained it. "I'll lift the shinies off of the two sleepin' things in there an' since you've come to help I'll make sure to grab ya somethin' nice." As they approached her voice dropped to a whisper, a serious one. Her devil-may-care attitude was replaced with her more serious business-like tone that was reserved for these sorts of situations.

Upon arriving at the pit she rose to her hind paws and looked down at the large sleeping dragon and the lamb, again she was certain she could just make out the glimmer of the gemstones below. She wanted them... She wanted them and she would have them! Before dismounting the rhino she turned to her, silver eyes met Nem's as she put on that smirk of hers. "If things go sour I'll call on ya for backup but don't interfere unless I call." With that she leaped off of the rhino and took the spear from her vine belt. "Any questions? Concerns? Complaints?"

Nemesis was quite proud that her lovely Fang had sought her out personally for this dangerous, mission impossible thing. She happily tromped towards the gaping hole in the earth-- it was certainly something that she had to investigate. Their territory had been changed from how it was supposed to be and any change had to be carefully evaluated. As it turned out, there was a giant monster in that hole and also some kind of weird fluffy thing.

Now, Nemesis was a reasonable rhino but she didn't like the look of those things in her home. Why were they there? They didn't have any right to be there. If it wasn't for Fang's careful guidance, she would probably make all sorts of fuss over the napping intruders. As it was, her tail swished back and forth and she snorted in reply to her Queen's demands. She wasn't sure she could care more about treasure, but if it gave her more power economically or whatever it was, that couldn't be a bad thing.

"You sure you're going to be alright down there?" She asked, keeping her voice at a rough, horse whisper. Regardless of her concern, she didn't want to make it seem like she was nervous or wimping out or anything. "Anything goes wrong, I'll be there." With that, she turned her eyes to the gaping hole, lips curled up in a scowl as she watched the sleeping monsters bellow.

Nemsis gave her final words and the little queen gave a self-assured grin. "Don't worry about it, everythin'll be fine. I know it's your first heist but it'll be all good and I'm sure after this you'll certainly want more." Others probably would have tried to wake up the eternally sleeping pair but not Fang. When an opportunity reared its head she was there to greet it. Why would she negotiate with the pair before taking their stuff? After all, if they were attached to the things and she successfully stole them it would make more sense for her to make off with it first and use it for ransom. That dragon looked like it would be useful if they could get it on their side. If it could even be awoken.

After that she gave one last grin before scampering towards the edge of the pit and peering downwards. The dragon and the sheep were still sleeping soundly while surrounded by the jewels. Perfect. Fang grabbed her spear and after a few careful calculations began making her way down by sticking the spear into the wall as a sort of rock climbing tool. Sure, she could have done the climbing on her own but this was safer and quicker.

The reddish mongoose eventually made it down to the bottom of the pit. Her silver eyes searched around and landed on two pretty yellow pieces of scopolite, lying side by side. Perfect. She scampered over to them on all fours with the spear held in her mouth. Upon reaching the gems she reached downwards and prepared to the pull them free of the dirt providing nothing terrible happened.

Though the scapolite was lodged firmly in the ground, after a few tugs it came free, easing out of the stiff dirt and rock. The dragon and the lamb remained sleeping. The scapolite is now in Diamondfang's possession.

Success! She'd grabbed the scapolite after a few tugs and managed to get it free with no one the wiser. Great! Now... onto the next thing. She gazed around until she laid eyes upon the iolite. That would be her next target! The little thief scampered over to it and laid her paws on the gem. After a quick glance at the dragon then at the little lamb she looked back up to her companion, the rhino before giving her an "it's all good" gesture with her paw before turning her attention back to the polished iolite. With a few resounding tugs she began to try and get it free. If this was her home then she wouldn't leave with anything less than two, no matter what happened! This was her prize for being such an awesome thief.

The rhino did her duty and she did it well. She stood still and quiet and simply watched. She didn't so much as twitch as her companion, her queen did all the delicate, dirty work. She couldn't help but wonder how these beasts had gotten down there, but she figured she could take the lamb at a push. It took all of her concentration not to get absolutely furious and set fire to the trespassers. She snorted softly, blinking slowly as if even jerking her head too much would wake up the whole world.

"How much longer?" She whispered hoarsely, carefully craning her neck down to peer at the hole. She wanted to get Fang out of there as soon as possible, but of course she knew if she woke up the dragon or sheep her Queen would be so mad. Never mind she could easily take them both and Fang had no reason to worry with her there. Nemesis was powerful, and unstoppable. Her tail lashed and she nearly jumped out of her rough, leather skin and willed herself to hold still just a bit longer.

Was that second gem supposed to be Nemesis' prize? She wondered. The scapolite seemed more like her, more like Fire... but little did she know that the iolite matched her eyes, perhaps the gembound it once belonged to would also match her soul and spirit.

Of course, it was up to Fang just what she did or didn't get.

As silent as the two are, the creatures in the pit remain motionless and unresponsive. The iolite is successfully stolen.

She got it! Everything went according to plan and the sleeping idiots were none the wiser. She tucked the iolite into her vine belt and headed towards the exit. In this case the exit was a sheer five foot wall. Well... she was a mongoose and a good climber so this would be a snap. The mongoose grabbed the spear from her mouth and then the same way she'd got down she got back up. By using the spear to stick in the wall as a sort of hook while she used it to help her get up.

Before long she was back up next to the rhino and to show her what had happened she set both things on the ground. "Which would ya like? Since you were such a good help, I'll let ya choose." Fang was feeling indulgent since her little heist had gone so well. Let the rhino decide what she wanted.

Nemesis found herself surprised by Fang's generosity. She could pick? She wasn't sure why the cunning mongoose who had done all of the honest hard work was sharing this with her... But she was honored. The rhino bowed her head and considered what she wanted, eying the two different gems.

"You should take the yellow one. It's like Fire, like me. So you can remember this awesome mission we did," she decided finally, a smile on her broad face. She preferred the twin one, but for that reason she would let her friend have it instead. The Queen deserved the best, after all.

Which meant that the purple one was hers. Her tail swished and gingerly, she took it. Where would she keep it? She would have to find out, she supposed. Perhaps on the ledge where she slept, but... Hm.

Nemesis lifted a foot and gave a slight half-shrug "Let's get outta here Fang. I don't like those weird gembounds down there." She decided, turning to head out, to head back towards the heart of Monoceros.
