Half a cycle stuck inside the chrysalis in eternal pain has driven Blackberry insane. She thinks that her time in agony and hate was unfair and unjust and it was everyone's fault that she could not escape, even in death, due to hallucinations she suffered. She intends to pay this back with blood.

But she fights for more then just vengeance - she loves the thrill of battle, the adrenaline that races through her veins. She likes to see the blood pour from her enemy and she likes the unique taste of each gembound she destroys. She likes the power as the life flows out of the gembound in front of her and she revels in the killing blow. She loves to kill and nothing will take that away.

However, there's a strangely soft side to Blackberry that only emerges in the presence of her family. While she isn't the most emotionally articulate, she still loves her family with all her heart. Others may doubt her capability to love, since she shows it in strange ways, but there really is a mother goose in there that only wants to protect and strengthen her family.

Before her mutation, Blackberry was nothing more then a rude, ridiculous bully that found it fun to push others around. A fight against the wolf Kera, however, started her decline to a savage beast. She met Blueberry after suffering under the effects of venom and he soon became her caretaker. They traveled together for some time, two very different personalities that somehow formed into a coherent team. They began to fall in love with each other, although Blackberry would refuse to admit it.

However, upon meeting Kera for a second time, Blackberry was horribly destroyed and was forced to mutate to save her from death. Upon reemergence, she had become a different creature - insane, bloodthirsty, and vengeful. Blueberry was there with her the whole time, having spent that time alone and slowly declining into madness. The time after her declaration of vengeance was the bloodiest part of her life. She killed many and defeated many in battle. Eventually, they stopped in the tunnel where Blackberry had died and created three children that they would protect and love.

While she was away, a komodo dragon by the name of Reseda tricked Blueberry into leaving and stole away the three gems. She came back to the tunnel to find all of them gone and, while frantically searching, came across a baby hyena and took her in while she returned to the tunnel. Blueberry was back there, having recovered them, along with a young wolf called Jayberry. The family officially began as the three children hatched.
