Tunnel R connects Andromeda and Pegasus. It is a moist tunnel in that it features a river throughout which disappears underground upon reaching Andromeda. Steep cliffs border the river with a walkway cut along one, its edge protected by a rope fence with steel poles, oddly well maintained. The river is shallow but fast-moving. The riverwalk is available to creatures no larger than five feet wide but it has no weight limit. Other means of travel through the tunnel include flight, trudging through the current of the shallows of the river, or a peaceful journey through the forest of the riverwalk cliff. This tunnel experiences seasons like other areas of the caves, from flowering spring trees to full summer leaves that change with autumn, to bare limbs and snow in colder cycles; as such, its temperatures vary, although it is generally comfortably warm during the day and cooler as lights dim for night. Steep stairs cut into the cliff provide access to and from the riverwalk at erratic variables along its path. |
LOCATIONS
Andromeda Entrance
Encrusted with glowing crystal and overgrown with glowing plants, this stone archway was carved from the cave wall with delicate and thoughtful precision. A large, flat stone bowl sits on the ground before the right pillar, although it is long empty. Braziers on either side are lit by ever-burning purple-blue flames. |
Pegasus Entrance
Obscurred by lush plant growth, this archway of stone seems to have been cut deliberately with strange runes carved randomly across it, different lettering styles apparent as some are neat and some are nearly incomprehensible. Fresh flower bouquets are often found at its base on either side. |
Wisteria Grove
Clustered near the middle of the cliff, this grove of wisteria trees are enchanted to be always flowering with light purple to pink to white flowers. A bed of petals carpets the ground here with a shallow stream on its edge. A small den dug out from one of the thicker trees hides baubles and trinkets and various cute, collected things that look well-loved and not abandoned. |
The Riverwalk
A well-worn path cut from the cliff. A well-maintained fence borders its length to protect visitors from tumbling off its edge and into the river. Several areas that resemble benches for seating are found cut into the stone. |
