The massive hybrid was off exploring for the first time ever, and after excitedly finding an underwater tunnel (oh my goodness) that led elsewhere, she eagerly swam right down it and found herself in a very sparkly place. Her excitement was quickly averted elsewhere as she surfaced in the cold waters and noticed that there were rocks moving. Out of the water. Rocks moved in water, but not out of water. So guess what? Yep. Iris happily pranced over, but he found a very scared monkey. The rocks didn't look all that alive... so she attempted to stampede the rocks and help the monkey out! She couldn't see the tiny blade of Grassy.
She somehow failed to stampede over the golem, slipping on her still slick frame and falling on the floor with a massive THUD!. She slid a few feet before stopping. She forgot that here scales were very slippery when wet.

The golem seemed bored but that didn't ease the tamarin's nerves as they continued to press forward. The tiny little snake had made their way over, crawling up his legs and releasing tiny little meeps. One of which was a simple word and some damn fine advice. Run. Well Diot was going to run, until another gembound added to the growing pile of today's curiosities. They were a rather large hybrid, one who seemed to be helping; well trying at least. Never mind the fact they failed, slipping perhaps on their own shiny and rather slick looking skin.
He couldn't just leave them to fight the golem on their own. Yes he had to protect the little snake but this new gembound was just as important! He had tried to reach out, connect to the element that very much was his own. Yet nerves cut the connection like weak string, snapping his grasp; not a single thing dared to emerged through the golem. A small hiss escaping his throat he backpedaled a few feet.

Iris attempted to scramble to her feet, she really did. But once again, she failed in a mass of flailing limbs. The floor was just so slippery. Shouting out in surprise as she slipped and fell again, the hybrid slid across the cave floor a little ways and found herself several feet from Grassy. In a last ditch effort to protect the small snake, she held her snout out to her, tipping it downward so that it was like a little bridge to her head.

GRASSY
Grassy stared at Iris, reaching in close as to scoop her up. But wasn't the giant she already on safe enough? But they all seemed rather panicked about nothing-- the big slow, dumb, giant, bundle of living rock didn't seem that bad. With a peep, the noodle stretched out to boop Iris' nose, staying on Diot but poking the even bigger gembound.
Aside from the rocks, all the giant's seemed very nice. "Run?" She suggested to the biggest of the giants, abruptly realizing that Iris was long and noodly like her... A fellow grass? No. The wrong color. Maybe some other kind of plant?
She wriggled up on to Iris, settling on the slippery snout-- and then she plopped on to the ground where she was vulnerable.
Be like the single blade of grass. For she too, has been trampled on, mowed down, and hit with such bitterly cold stretches that she had to shut down to survive. Yet still she stands upright with dignity, knowing that she endures... and still she dances with the wild wind.

One of Iris' limbs slipped and knocked into the golem, sending it stumbling away. The creature seems immobile for a moment, as though stunned, but then it stands again. The sound of rock on stone screeches through the air as the golem steps forward into one of the slick trails of water that Iris has made. The golem nearly slips, but rights itself, and then it ambles off to the left, as though it doesn't know where the gembounds are.

GRASSY
Well, Grassy had enough of waiting around for these gembounds to get an idea of how dangerous things were. Yep, instead, she was just going to bolt off.
Sorry, the blade of grass was a coward when she knew she was in danger. She did, however, let out a tiny, meeping cry. "Run, run, run! Meep!" To the others, slipping away and-- rather abruptly-- right into a river.
The current quickly took tiny Grassy away.
Be like the single blade of grass. For she too, has been trampled on, mowed down, and hit with such bitterly cold stretches that she had to shut down to survive. Yet still she stands upright with dignity, knowing that she endures... and still she dances with the wild wind.

One of the new gembound's limbs had slipped and knocked into the golem. Diot felt a rise of happiness, if Golem's could taste that would have sure left a nice aftertaste in their mouth! Even though it continued to amble about it began to wander mindlessly again. It had no idea where it's targets had gone! Diot's watched as the small snake began to slither off, rightfully so too! Diot would have followed the small thing, except for the newer gembound still remaining there. The poor thing didn't seem like it could walk all too well on land, slipping and sliding everywhere.
He would give this one. more. try.
Rising up within the confines of his being Diot called out for nature's aid. He could feel it pulsing within the golem, hungry for the magic he would feed it to emerge. He only hoped it was enough!

The golem's path changes abruptly, turning towards Diot with an animosity that might have just been imagined. Stone chest grumbles as a cracking starts up deep in the golem's body, its core starting to crack. Just as it gets close to Diot, nearly ready to swipe at the primate, the whole thing begins to crumple. In a moment, like an avalanche, the stone monster turns into a pile of rubble, with a tiny plant squirming up out of the remains.

He could feel it, the rising beat of nature's hymn inside this monster. Growing louder and louder as it approached the tamarin. Diot wanted to scream, bare his teeth at this thing for what destruction its kind had done to those know and unknown. Yet his calm demeanor did not crack. It stayed smooth and calm just as prized porcelain. He had no reason to move, he was already dead; there was no reason to fear. With arms outstretched he continued to call out magic to burst now. Opal upon his skull glimmering and shining brightly as he stared at the beast. Flat line of a smile cracking upwards as it readied a swipe at him. Until it crumpled, body falling apart in a avalanche of stone as it was mere rubble now. Smile wide he watched the tiny plant squirm up and over the remains. With the aftertaste of victory fresh on his tongue he decided to approach the rubble.
Glancing over the stones and turning one or two over he located those fancy mindless gems he had thrown at it before. Picking them up he placed them mindfully inside his satchel. Continuing his search for a few more moments, spotting a few other gems this golem must have picked up well before the fight; they too found their way inside his bag.
Glancing around for the final moment he exhaled heavily. He had won! What a wondrous story of adventure to tell his father! Though maybe over some relaxing tea once he returned...the numbat was always one to worry...especially with a story such as this.
And so with a smile on his face and a quick farewell to the unknown gembound who seemed to be in their own little world Diot began his path through Polaris yet again. Hopefully there wouldn't be anymore golems...
