Red Wolf Moonlit Dream

MAGICKA LEVEL 92%
RESTORED TO 100%

Kin-Kin didn't like this; she hated this, in fact. this feeling of weakness that had come from a feeling of power. It only went to show just how unstable magic could be in the grand scheme of things. She'd never been hurt by her own magic before, but now as blood pooled around her paws, she could still barely believe it.

Her limbs felt leaden, her breaths short and fast. Every breath brought a fresh wave of blood, and pain, her eyes round in stunned shock. She didn't move at first, but soon that leaden feeling began to creep its way into her limbs. Slowly, slowly. The she-wolf raised her head, her eyes wide, her muzzle stained with her own blood. She'd played with magic, and this was where it got her. Magickal champion? Bah. the magic may as well have championed her.

Confused and muddled thoughts swept over her, doubts surfacing and resurfacing as she wondered if everything she'd boasted about had been misplaced. Boasting, and being wrong, she realized, was the most embarrassing thing in the world. Bitch! Pull it together... she swore at herself mentally. If I'm sat here thinking that training is gonna be a steady upwards slope where everything is easy, I'd be the caves' God by now...! she told herself. Lifting her lip in a snarl, she dragged her scattered senses back towards the matter at hand and stared, bleary-eyed, up at the pup. She realized she'd sank down onto the ground and was breathing sharply, every motion sending a feeling of pain through her belly. She was growing dizzy and lightheaded, but she forced a bared-tooth grin, mostly out of pained mania. "Nah, Kid... j-just your next lesson... hah... hah..."

Deepening her breaths, the golden wolf closed her eyes and focused into her gem, struggling to find and gather up the last scraps of magic that lay within her. There wasn't much... she'd drained herself dry. But it was something. Bit by bit, a soft glow swept throughout her fur. She felt her wound writhing and prickling, and winced visibly.

The sharp pain dulled to a steady ache.

The bloodflow had stopped, and despite feeling weak, leaden, and exhausted, Kin-kin looked up. Slowly, she raised herself up so that she was sitting back on her haunches, revealing that the wound had already scabbed over. She tried not to cringe, as it still hurt with every motion... but she felt she'd avoided a catastrophe by teaching herself yet another new spell.

The wolf grinned lopsidedly at the puppy, clearly relieved, yet every part of her wanting nothing more than to brag. Of courseshe could have done that. She was the Champion!

"S-surprised, Kid? T-told ya there ain't anything ya can't do!"

Obviously, she was pretending she'd planned that all along.
