Alright, so anyone that's interested in adopting the kid, I'm just gonna post a quick little form to fill out! Please note - this child is probably going to be coming with pretty messed up future plotting and most likely will not be free to roam for a while. Anubis intends to use this kid to closely observe growth and the cycle of life. While he will (most likely) not personally be torturing this kid (he will be more like a very very obsessive researcher/doctor on a never-ending checkup day) he will be incredibly possessive and controlling.

Name: fiver (no i havent read the watership down books but i have consumed enough of the media to find this a funny little name to use)
Appearance: in the way a hare is a rabbit that is not quite right, he is a jackal that is stretched and too flexible. With spindly legs and black thorns lining his back. His hide is tough and flexible, with natural armor plating protecting his dark back. He will be small for a jackal, but not outside of the realm of possibility for his parent's species.
Personality: somewhat of a blank slate to begin with, this child will initially strive to appease his parent. He will be fascinated with trying to puzzle out how to "win" the game his parent is playing... But this will slowly dissolve into a sense of being nothing more of an object in his parent's eyes. He will seek freedom in the only way he can understand, motivated by the shared magic they have: fungi, decay, and ultimately, death. He will learn that his stone is killing him and that he is doomed by the narrative, and may seek either to escalate it and die on his own terms, or seek the immortality that pthers have, but only if he can guarentee his own freedom.
Ideas:
- limited lifespan due to cinnibar
- will inherit anubis's obsessive behavior and cunning, may lash out at strangers that he perceives as a threat, basically zero socialization
- may end up chrysalizing himself over and over to escape his fate

notes:
-roughly shaped and colored like a jackal except for the following
-full grown size will be roughly: 36cm tall, 90cm long, 10kg (shorter than average jackal but longer, weight approximate)
-has armadillo lizard plating along back and tail, with long guard hairs growing in between in the traditional black-silvers of the black-backed jackal cap
-least weasel white throat/belly markings, more of a reddish tint than a jackal's tan/orange, but maintains the natural coat variations of a jackal otherwise
-as flexible as a weasel + armadillo lizard, capable of rolling up into a ball
-has the same number of digits as a lizard: four fingers and a "thumb" on the forepaws, three fingers and a "thumb" on the back paws, overall paw pads are structured more like a weasel but elongated, with short hairs and jackal claws.
-beady black eyes. a mix of weasel/lizard genetics there as well.

-cinnabar gemstone replaces liver. would like a gm-designated 'death cycle' if at all possible.
-will have signs of mercury poisoning from a young age, which will effect his spacial reasoning, cognitive abilities, and fine motor skills.
