The river was easy to find, considering it cut through most of Polaris. You pretty much couldn't go from one tunnel entrance to another without finding the river, and as soon as Kerb got to the top of some rubble he saw the water sloshing by nearby. He wagged his tail, nearly hitting Ghost before he remembered to be careful of his new blind friend, and he glanced back and considered the question.

"These lizards do!" He woofed, grinning across all three muzzles. "They're electrical. Got a kick to em." "Tingly on your tongue. I like them a lot, but they're tricky!" The cerberos was already starting to get excited as he led the way, careful not to let Ghost fall behind. He wasn't exactly an expert in leading blind dogs around (that was, he wasn't a seeing-eye dog himself) but he did go at a nice, slow pace. The kind he used around Bones these days, ever since his leg was injured.

Finding the lizards was a bit more tricky than finding the river. Although the collected by the shore usually, they were sparse and timid creatures. So Kerberos put his noses to the job, and tried to sniff out some zappy lizards.

@Ghost

Ghost looked over at kerberos blindly with wide eyes and blinked. Electrical? Kick? That didnt sound good. He pulled confidence from kerberos, but he was still unsure. If kerberos has eaten them before, they must be safe right? He certainly hoped so. where will we find them? the river didnt seem to be a long walk for the pair, but since the whole place smelled like water, he hadnt known the distance. He knew they were close when the musty water smell got stronger and it was hard to keep his nose from wrinkling at the smell. Kerberos went after finding the lizards and ghost figured hed at least try. He walked along the edge of the river at a safe enough distance that in case he fell, he wouldnt land in the water. He pressed his nose into the ground and went to work, assuming the cerebus would find them before him and it seemed like that would be the case. speech table code © rasta 2015

... There wasn't a single lizard around. The canine stopped for a moment, sniffing at the air-- but when one of his heads glanced at Ghost, he found that not even the blind wolf could figure out where they were. With his nose, anyway. Obviously he wouldn't see any of them. If they were around, which they weren't! gutless cowards were leaving his gut food-less.

"Looks like they aren't by the river... Maybe they have dens by the walls?" His middle head reasoned, gazing off into the distance as the clipped eared, crimson nose stared even harder at the river and the floppy eared, orange nosed muzzle gently poked at Ghost's ear.

"How do you not trip on anything?" Orange-nose whined softly, out of concern. The big dog had six eyes and even with all of those he was constantly falling all over himself as a pup and sometimes even now. Of course, this was more because he was top heavy-- but the big loaf didn't know much about momentum to be fair.

Kerberos as a whole went on, though, towards the far wall. He still went slow enough to let Ghost keep pace, even though his right head kept an eye on the wolf the whole time anyway. "... I smell them!" One head barked abruptly as they got close enough. Still couldn't see any, but the dog loped off over to the wall and quickly found a bunch of cracks in the wall where the lizards were probably denning. "They're over here, in the wall! We found them!"

@Ghost

Ghost sniffed and sniffed at the ground but he still couldnt find a single one. He hunted around, sniffing in other places to be sure. One of the heads spoke and ghost lifted his head, listening. He wouldve turned his head, but there was a feeling on his ear that startled him, but a different voice spoke now. He turned towards the head then, blinking slow. i fall a lot... But i walk slow to try and prevent it. actually, he hadnt fallen in some time... That must mean that it was going to happen soon... Ghost joined kerberos by the wall where he said, following his voice until he found it. Sniffing at thw cracks, he agreed that the lizards where hiding in there. Desperately, he started to paw at the wall as if he were digging, just upright. After a few miutes of the wall crumbling, he could finally reach a single lizard if he smushed his face into the wall and drag it put with his tongue, so he did. Holding it by the tail between his front teeth after catching it, he held it up to kerberos, offering a slobbery, half alive, lizard. speech table code © rasta 2015

The orange tipped head seemed satisfied by that answer, though it didn't stop him from carefully watching Ghost the whole way. Walking slow worked well for him too, after all, so maybe they were less different then he had initially thought after finding out the canine was blind. A quiet feeling of brotherly connection stirred in the three headed dog, and privately he thought Bones might like to meet Ghost one day.

Kerberos' tail thumped or rather slapped against the ground as Ghost dug into the den, making quick work on the zapper's hidy hole. He waited patiently as ever until Ghost stuck his head into the hole and came back out with a struggling lizard, barely alive. Kerberos let out a soft, wordless woof of surprise and joy, wiggling as he looked down at the hole himself.

"You did it!" And then abruptly-- "MY TURN!" His body fell to the ground beside Ghost, his crimson-marked nose shoving deep into the hole but his teeth not snapping around any lizards. Instead, the canine found he was a bit stuck, and his other heads glanced at Ghost, unsure what to do as he tried to get back out.

"Oh no..."

He had caught his lizard and Kerberos was fast to go in for his, shouting abrubtly that it was his turn. Ghost could only smile and laugh lightly as he ate the lizard he offered to the giant dog when it wasnt taken from him. The lizard had a strange flavor, but he was quickly distracted from its taste when Kerberos suddenly sounded alarmed.

Oh no? Oh no, what? Ghost blinked down at kerb, wondering why the giant dog had gone still and why one of the heads sounded concerned. Ghost's brows furrowed and his lios pressed together, wondering what Kerberos had done. "What's the matter?" he questioned the dog, reaching down to sniff at him to see if that would help answer his question, but apparently not.

Kerberos let out another little whimper, ears twitching as Ghost asked what was wrong. The wolf couldn't see what was wrong, of course, so one head helpfully spoke up. "Stuck... I'm, well, I got stuck..." He put one paw against the stone wall and have a might shove until his head came flying out, bonking into his center head. He stiffled a whimper, and his heads shared some quick licks with one another.

"I'm okay," he announced, glancing shyly at the blind canine who was already a better hunter than he was. "I guess I can't fit..." Kerberos felt rather awful about the whole thing. Surely he should have been better at hunting the slipperly little lizards by now... But no such luck, it seemed. He could hunt fish just fine, but land prey was still too elusive for his clumsy, humongous body.

Hrmph.

@Ghost

Thankfully, Kerberos had gotten free. He sought out the dog, sniffing out the head that had gotten stuck and ran his tongue over his cheek once, as if some consoleing would help. Ghost was poor in the way of sympathy, but he was trying.

He looked back to the wall then, eager to catch Kerberos a lizard since he hadn't taken the first one he offered. Standing on his hind legs, he clawed at the wall, desperately trying to find a crack where a lizard would be hiding. Finally, after making a crack barely wider, he stuck his nose in as far as he could to drag a lizard outbby its tail, squirming and scared. Ghost was really good at this and he smiled around the lizard tail between his teeth.

"Here you go, for you!" His tail wagged at a steady pace behind him, excited to have caught another one, but he did feel bad that Kerberos was too big to dig them out.

A grin broke across all three expressions of the dog, his snake tail slapping loudly (and likely painfully) against the hard stone floor. He panted excitedly, one head snapping up the lizard, and one head managed to get out an, "Amazing! Thank you!" Before all three heads snapped at the lizard, shredding it into nothing more than broken bits of bones in moments. He was a quick, dirty eater, but as soon as he finished all three heads were licking up the other heads' muzzles and also his paws.

"I'm a horrible hunter," the canine practically laughed, immediately cheered up now that Ghost had helped him out. He was just so easy to please, wasn't he? "But you're amazing! You can hunt even without your eyes!" The praise continued, though the middle head let out a snarky remark: "And just one head."

All in all, the canine reached out a paw to try and pull Ghost closer, going to give the blind wolf all of the slobbery kisses in the world.

"You're the best!" "Yeah!" "Definitely!"

He smiled at Kerberos' excitement towards the single lizard he offered. Certainly the giant dog wanted more than just one? There were three heads to feed! One stomach, he assumed, but wouldn't each head get jealous?

"Oh, I wouldn't say that..." he laughed, hardly amazing at all. Sure, he learned to hunt small snack food on his own, but what else could he do? Nothing, if you asked him. He was weak, small, and had little talents. So he could sniff out a lizard and catch it, big deal. He got lucky that time, to be honest. Or at least he thought. He was still alive, after all.

When the paw of the giant dog reached out to him, Ghost wasn't aware and so it startled him, but he didn't fight it. He smiled again then, glad the dog was so appreciative of his little gift even if it didn't make sense to him. He couldn't lie, he liked this Kerberos guy. He made him feel good about himself even though he turned everything he said down. It made him feel good, better than Leon and Makyna and even Baratheon made him feel.
