QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Through all the commotion, if one were to look closely enough, they would realize that the pieces of stone scattered about the floor of the tunnel do not comprise the broken pieces of the statue. In fact, the missing pieces of the statue are no where to be found within this tunnel. Perhaps it would be a better idea to extend your search elsewhere...
There was a lot going on - so much so that Ozzy couldnt keep up with everyone anymore. Most of the others were young like him, but the large trino stood out like asore thumb with the monkey thing on top of her face. She seemed really angry when she yelled out, forcing his ears back until he heard Nova speak again.
She asked the deer, Thistle, what she thought before turning to him and asking for his two cents. "Hold on," he said and weeved his way through the other gembounds towards the statue. Minutes ago, he didnt care, but when asked he felt he should at least try.
As he walked up to the stone fragments on the ground, he looked between them at the statue. "They look different than the statue...?" Ozzy double and triple checked to be sure before looking at Nova and then to the large trino. Had anyone else noticed?

there's a beautiful storm in your eyes
to orion we go, quintus would go on forwards with a steady gait, not daring to run with bartos being held in his jaws. the brute had been holding the smaller feline for a while now but it did not seem as if he was annoyed by it after all he knew that his companion would have trouble walking for some time. as a matter of fact, quintus worried for the cat, hopefully he doesn't have acrophobia or anything of the sort. the gembound would continue to go forwards until the the commotion of several gathered gembounds would be heard by the lion. quintus would stop for a good second to assess what it was before he would continue towards the tunnel only to finally see the source of all the noise. so many children, ocean blue eyes would scan the several smaller frames around him before he would eventually see nemesis's massive frame pushing towards a rather familiar looking statue. the lion would take a moment to set his companion down while his eyes would stay set on the statue with a surprised look to them, "bartos, it looks like it's a statue of utzotl." it seemed that the two had found themselves on another adventure and mystery to be solved, just when he was about to yell at the herbivore due to her rough handling of the statue a voice managed to catch his attention. quintus would look towards ozias before advancing forwards to take a look at the stone fragments on the ground, hmph. taking a moment to analyze them a little further, he would look back towards the statue and magic that seemed to be coming from it, kind of like the spire. "the kid is right, the broken pieces of the statue must not be anywhere within this tunnel!" quintus's voice would rise in an attempt to get everyone else to hear and perhaps calm them down before he would stop only to do it once more, "we must extend our search elsewhere!"

There was one fleeting moment before Boar's head connected solidly with the statue in which she dully remembered her fight with Kingsfoil (and a rather ill-placed crystal) that had broken her nose. Realization, however, is little safety on its own, and her face met the immovable statue with a thick thud. Pain seared up the front of her face instantly, sending white spots shooting through her vision. She grunted and stumbled back until her back legs gave out beneath her and set her rear ungracefully on the floor. Boar remained there for a long moment with her head tucked sharply into her chest and eyes squeezed closed. Maybe if she didn't move the pain would subside. And, eventually, it did. With the white hot glare dying down she realized her ears were ringing sharply. She peeked open an eye and, as if on cue, her hearing, too, made a return. But only to the stubborn barking of Nemesis. Get out, before I make you get out. The calf, now in the most sour mood imaginable, shot her a filthy look.
She moved shakily to her feet, a trail of blood oozing from her nostrils to signal she'd re-broken her nose. With determination set into her features she twisted to face the rhino, puffed out her little chest, and delivered two simple words: "Make. Me.

There were so many others, their presence noted by the body heat and the scuffles and words that were spoken between them. Blindly, he reached out for Odyssey's connection but came up with nothing amidst the sea of unfamiliar presence. Instinctively, he moved closer to Othello, closer to the pet that his brother had decided to name and love. But Nemesis was soon to enter, and despite his disconnection to the rhino's princess, she murmured a greeting and a warning to stay close and he found himself ambling closer to the kind voice.
Discord followed, as the babies of Origin caves whined in confusion and distrust over what appeared to be an object in the middle of the room. The only indication of its existence to the blind mole fox was the steady stream of magic it gave off. As well as the voices. Everyone seemed to be questioning what indeed it was. There was only one he felt comfortable talking to, and he sent out his magic to force the words into the mind of the other, "What can you see? What's going on?" Beneath him, the ground was vibrating from the movements and the leaking magic. Whatever it was, it appeared to have Nemesis angry and in annoyed and despite his size he shrunk beside the rhino woman.

Et In Arcadia Ego.
Perched as they were by the door, Lazarus barely spared a scowl for Nemesis, whose shouting indicated that the rhinoceros had aims to take control of this investigation. A headstrong child, Lazarus didn't much care whether or not he did things with the support of his fellows-- this statue was curious, not the least of which because they couldn't quite tell what it was.
"That'swhatI'm/trying/todo." the kitten griped, "Butthestonesdon'tseemtobetalkingtome." The statute itself hadn't, and neither had the rubble by the door-- but there was an awful lot of it, scattered as it was by the gems all around, and Lazarus couldn't quite be certain who had tracked in what. Looking for rubble that looked either like the freshly opened hole in the wall or minute debris from the statue around the impromptu entrance to the statue's chamber, Lazarus tried again, this time on the debris on the tunnel side instead of in the room directly. Sometimes it paid to be a small kitten-- they, at least, could scoot through people's legs if they needed to, to get onto the other side of the doorway.
Focusing as hard as they could, Lazarus cast their mind into the stone, trying to see what-- if anything-- it remembered.
It is my intention for Lazarus to be blinded, and possibly to loose an eye, at the earliest opportunity. So if something occurs in threads that might make that likely, I'll be taking advantage of it!

There was a lot going on, but one thing that Nemesis did not miss was a spunky brat telling her to make her move. The momma raised up her head and let out a loud snort, stepping forward towards the calf. "Don't you go causing trouble," she scolded sharply, swinging the blunt side of her horn (namely the whole side of her face) at the impudent little twerp. She had spunk though, and Nemesis wouldn't forget it... Honestly, even though she did try to bat the kid out of the way, she did feel a prickle of warmth towards that one.
Unlike the annoying cat near her hooves. He was useless, rattling on about stones not talking-- though she couldn't help but ignore what the lion said either. Her gaze turned towards Quintus, a hot prickle of anger washing over her nerves. Lions always caused trouble. The momma rhino backed up again, sticking close to the babies she wanted to protect. She snorted again, but her curiosities about the statue could wait. Maybe if they all buggered off on a search to go find the stone, she could actually handle this situation without having to worry about stepping on anyone.
The more the primate observed, the more he shut out the others around him and he really got to focusing. As the stone was jammed into place, it just fell right back off and crumbled into tiny bits as it collided with the stone floor. He fled from his perch and scampered across the cave floor towards another piece of stone. "'Ey. These don' fit in with the rest." Howl's fingers traced the contours of it, and he found that it was carved much differently than the statue. As he gazed about, he noted that this was the case for all of the stones scattered about. 'Hm. Then that means they must be elsewhere.'
His mismatched eyes turned towards the mole-fox hybrid, and he beckoned with a hand more out of habit than meaning. He knew that the thing was blind. There were gems growing right out of his eyes, even. Howl moved towards Iliad and he pant-hooted, "c'mere clubfoot." His tail flicked and he smirked. "Wanna get away fro' all this? I gotta pretty 'ood idea of what's happenin'. I just need 'omeone with a very good sniffer like 'ou." Howl was hoping to find the location of the other pieces of stone, but honestly, he was sure that Nemesis was too busy with all of the babies in this tunnel, and she was too big not to accidentally smash a crucial piece of this puzzle.

There was a lot happening in the tunnel and the black pup found it hard to keep track of it all, so she did the next best thing and only keep her attention on the two she was standing near. Eyes drifted over to the statue, eyeing the pieces that Ozias pointed out that weren't the same. Interesting. A few of the others around the room seem to agree, and others weren't even paying attention. It was a b it frustrating. I wonder . . .
Turning to Thistle, "Do you see any other chunks of stone around?" Saying it loud enough, hoping others might catch on as well. The pup had grow over this short amount of time, almost 2 cycles old. So, now her ears were standing erect on their own. She walked up to the statue and gave it a sniff, trying to catch the scent.
And she did, the order stood out to her, now to go find the rest!!!
An image would come fleeting towards the cat. A shattering sound, that of rocks clattering to the ground, a small shadow fleeting across the ground - and a light above. It becomes increasingly obvious that something has damaged this statue on purpose and has taken the pieces of it outside of the tunnel. The image is clear as day, but Lazarus cannot see who the perpetrator is. The vision then begins to fade, returning them to the scene before them.
Nova's keen nose can pick up the scent of a dusty rock similar to that of the broken statue. The scent path leads out of the tunnel, towards... Orion.
Part 1 is complete!
The pieces of the statue are scattered around Origin Cave. There are 5 pieces to be discovered and returned to the statue. Characters must make a thread in any forum searching for a piece of the rock and make a GM request. The GM will state whether or not a piece of the statue is in the area; if it is, then there will be a hint given to lead your characters towards the piece. You must continue to make GM requests to locate the statue pieces.
